If this was supposed to be damage control, Susan G. Komen for the Cure proved Thursday that it has a lot to learn.

On a day when the breast cancer charity’s top official made the rounds with the national media, insisting the organization’s decision to stop giving grants to Planned Parenthood wasn’t political, the firestorm only got worse. Top Democrats piled on; the head of the Komen chapter in Los Angeles quit; and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is giving a $250,000 matching gift to Planned Parenthood.

I’m not seeing what Komen did wrong; do you? I see that 22 Democrat Senators are choosing to whine about what a private corporation does with their money, without mentioning that PP is known mostly for abortions, not “breast exams”, and turning this political. Same with Bloomberg.

Brinker said there was broad consensus from Komen’s board over the new policies. Additionally, she said the charity was trying to refocus grants on providers that are able to perform mammography services rather than just breast screenings. Planned Parenthood does not have mammography equipment and refers women to providers for the service.

“We are the stewards of other people’s money, and we need to ensure that money is going to programs for women in the most impactful way,” Brinker said, echoing a statement she made on a YouTube video late Wednesday night.

I can see how that would upset liberals, who seem to expect Other People’s Money to be wasted, rather than being treated respectfully.

We also have a Memorandum pull of a story entitled “HOPE KILLS: Susan G Komen Foundation Would Rather Be Associated With A Handgun Than Planned Parenthood.” The author, Michael Brendan Dougherty, is whining about a Walther P22 that comes in pink, with part of the sales going to the Komen Foundation. Except, the gun is meant to protect the life of a woman. Liberals do not want women to have guns. Liberals want women to be raped, beaten, and die, apparently. The guns are also not performing abortions and killing unborn children, many of whom are female. Why do liberals hate women?

And then we have the whole “breast exam” thing. As Life News points out

During a conference call with reporters this afternoon, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure CEO Nancy Brinker and President Elizabeth Thompson revealed the main reason why the Planned Parenthood abortion business lost its funding. It doesn’t do mammograms.

“It was nothing they were doing wrong,” Brinker explained. “We have decided not to fund, wherever possible, pass-through grants. We were giving them money, they were sending women out for mammograms. What we would like to have are clinics where we can directly fund mammograms.”

She added, later in the day on Twitter:, saying the money “will be invested in programs to serve low-income, uninsured and underinsured women.”

PP doesn’t offer mammograms. Let’s be honest, as Life News points out, they do do breast exams. But no mammograms. No PP abortion mills have the necessary medical devices on location. That said, the Left is not upset about Komen pulling funding to PP over breast exams, they are upset about Komen dissing the Left’s favorite abortion provider.

A whack nut Occupy Wall Street sympathizer in South Carolina was a bit miffed when Governor Nikki Haley “allowed” the police to begin arresting the dregs at Occupy Columbia. In fact, he was so mad that he took to his Facebook account and threatened to murder the Governor.

So much for the Occupy-Whatevers being wedded to “non-violence,” eh?

When 26-year-old Nathan Shafer heard about the arrests of 19 Occupy Columbia members outside the State House last Wednesday, he did what lots of people do when they get angry — he vented about it on the Internet. He saw Gov. Haley’s Facebook post about the arrests and Haley’s comment that she “appreciate[s] freedom of speech,” and that’s when authorities say Shafer crossed the line.

“I hope someone murders you before I do,” Shafer said he commented on the post. “How’s that for freedom of speech?”

Shafer claims that he was “just joking” and that he was only exercising his right to “free speech.” I guess threatening to kill people is just a joke to Occupy-Whatevers.

As the newser notes a man earlier this year made similar threats toward President Obama but was not convicted of any wrongdoing.

Just add this creep’s threats to the mounting toll of violence and hatred seen from the Occupy-Whatevers. All I can say is that it is such a shame that Democrats and the Old Media are pretending that the OWSers are “non-violent” and are somehow “the left’s Tea Party movement.” Neither are true as the Tea Party never indulged any of the hatred and violence seen by these disgusting OWSers.

The fact is the two groups are not in the least way similar save that both were protesting things. The Tea Partiers are law-abiding, serious, practical, and useful. The OWSers are dangerous, criminal, pointless, and narcissistic.

Earlier this year the State of Illinois moved to force religious-based children’s services to break their religious principles and give children in their charge to homosexual couples. Organizations such as Catholic Charities have been told by the state that they either break their religious principles or face being shut down by the state. So, pursuant to that agenda, the state has determined that all children currently in the hands of religious adoption agencies need to be removed immediately.

Representing Catholic Charities of three Illinois Roman Catholic Dioceses, the Thomas Moore Society filed an emergency motion to prevent the state from removing all the children in its care. Unfortunately, an Illinois appellate court refused to overturn the trial court’s decision to remove the children during the appeal process in which lawyers are now engaged. (Filings here and here.)

Still, other motions made in the emergency motion were granted. Thomas Moore informs that the matter “is now on an expedited schedule for briefing in the Appellate Court.” The fate of the children remains unknown at this point.

So what was so bad that the State of Illinois felt it necessary to take all children away from religious-based organizations? Have there been cases of abuse? Perhaps children’s services from religious-based groups have been rated lowly? Have adopting parents complained?

None of the above. In fact, there is no substantive reason at all for this attack on religious-based children’s services in the Land of Lincoln. Well, no reason except for a left-wing, pro-homosexual political agenda, that is.

You see, the state received precisely one complaint about Catholic Charities. It was from an activist homosexual who complained that the religious-based adoption agencies in the state would not willingly give children up to homosexual couples.

If there has been before such draconian actions taken by government based on a single, hazy, non-substantive complaint — one that did not entail any abuse of children — I’ve never heard tell of it. But here we have such a case. The complaint of one activist pushing the homosexual agenda was enough for the state to decide to force all religious children’s services to either break religious principles and give children to homosexual couples, or face being shut down by the iron fist of the state.

This overt attack on religious-based children’s services hits with interesting timing, too. This month the Illinois Dept. of Children and Family Services gave Catholic Charities its highest rating for children’s services. Catholic Charities received a Level 1 compliance score and was ranked as one of the best foster care providers in the state.

So on one hand, one state agency says that the services Catholic Charities provided to the State’s most vulnerable children is top notch, yet on the other hand another state agency (the Attorney General’s office) says that Catholic Charities is so bad it must be shut down.

It just goes to show that Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan (a Chicago Democrat) has a political agenda and doesn’t really care what’s good for the homeless children of Illinois.

(The Hill) Democrats on the congressional supercommittee this week presented Republicans with a plan to cut the deficit that included billions of dollars in stimulus spending, aides told The Hill.

In a private meeting of the deficit panel Tuesday, Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, presented a proposal backed by a majority of Democrats on the panel that includes more than a trillion dollars in tax increases. The revenue would partially cover stimulus spending for the economy, aides said.

Apparently, the Democrats forgot the purpose of the Supercommittee, which is to decrease the deficit by a paltry $1.2 trillion….kinda weird to write that, but, when the deficit is over $15 trillion (really more like well over $100 trillion with the unfunded liabilities and mandates), $1.2 trillion over 10 years is chump change. But, Buacus and the Dems think that this should be a “jobs” bill. No matter how many times they repeat that word, they do not know what it really means, and they aren’t capable of doing it if it doesn’t include the unions or is a government job. Hey, maybe they could ask Nancy Pelosi, who does a great job of employing non-union workers at her business ventures.

Notice that the included stimulus would not even be truly paid for by all the tax increases included. And you can guarantee that any tax increases would hit now, along with the spending, while any reductions would be backloaded years down the road, and never take affect.

It’s easy to see that the primary purpose of the Democrats is to raise taxes, and the tax increases will not just hit “the rich” and people who create jobs, they will hit everyone. This is the Democrats version of trickle up poverty, and they want all the money to fund the federal government to be awarded to people who donate to their re-election campaigns and to throw around to their core voter blocks. They wouldn’t know a cut if it reached up and slapped them in the face. The whole process is doomed to failure, but, it was doomed to fail when it was determined that the supercommittee would attempt to reduce the deficit by a measly $1.2 trillion over 10 years.

Democrats have said from the beginning that the supercommittee should produce a “jobs plan” that includes “investments” to help the economy.

We’ve seen how well their “investments” have worked so far. They failed the private sector, they’ve wasted money beyond belief (money we owe to China), they ramped up government hiring, and now those same public sector workers are being laid off because local, state, and federal agencies cannot afford to keep them on. The economy is a mess. And Democrats want to do it again. Dare I say “morons”?

A funny thing is happening on the road to riches for Barack Obama and Al Gore, the weather is changing. Global scientists now warn of a Mini-Ice Age that will bring frigid temperatures that will further expose the fraud of the worldwide carbon-credit-man-made-global-warming scheme.

Last year, U.S. forecasters predicted the return of La Niña off the Pacific waters. Faced with meteorological science predicting a cooling trend and with potential billions at stake, Obama went before the U.N. recently to actively push his “green” global-warming agenda demanding that, “To preserve our planet, we must not put off the action that climate change demands.” America’s enemies would like nothing better than for America’s economy and future growth to be hamstrung by fraud-based global warming regulations. The real motivation for globalist pushing all things “green” is money. The green-scam itself is, in great part, American made.

Money to set up the global-warming, carbon-credit trading scheme, known as the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), was reportedly to be funneled through a Chicago Bank that once donated to then Senator Barack Obama’s campaign. Obama cronies from Goldman Sachs were reportedly set to run the CCX with an estimated 10 trillion dollars a year to be traded on the exchange. Reportedly, Obama and his associates such as Van Jones and Al Gore, along with bank owners, were slated to make millions from commissions alone. Former Chairman of mortgage giant Fannie Mae, Democrat and Obama supporter Franklin Raines was also reportedly involved in the structuring mechanism of the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX). It was Raines who reportedly pocketed $100 million in commissions at tax payer expense as CEO of Fannie Mae, was reportedly fined $20 million for serious accounting irregularities, leaving him some $80 million after reportedly being forced out with accusations of his staff “cooking the books.” With Obama’s jobs killing, economy crushing Cap-and-Trade bill sidelined and the CCX in a holding pattern, new measures to bank and funnel money had to be devised.

Enter Obama’s Jobs Plan and his demands for an Infrastructure Bank through which billions would be channeled to aid Labor Unions and benefit handpicked companies loyal to Obama and Democrats. Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) declares that Obama’s proposed Infrastructure Bank: “Is just Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac number two.” Exposed by Republicans as another tax payer money pit, the Obama administration has been forced to make a fast pivot to stash cash.

With the Infrastructure Bank facing stiff opposition in Congress, a last minute rush was made by Obama’s Energy Secretary Steven Chu to hurry through some $4.7 billion is guaranteed loans to favored solar companies as part of Obama’s “green” agenda. This on the heels of and despite the dismal failing and bankruptcy of Obama’s premiere “green” solar panel manufacturer Solyndra that flushed $535 million of tax payers’ money. Chu’s actions are being investigated.

With unsettled and conflicting science, nations worldwide are starting to follow the money trail behind the man-made-global-warming-carbon-credit scheme. Though all want a cleaner environment, the rush job that Obama, Gore and the United Nations demand puts not only validity in doubt, but questions if “green” is less environmental and signifies more of a goal to line pockets and fill bank accounts of wealthy, global elites at America’s expense.

· Are we absolutely certain that the main cause of global warming is carbon and has nothing to do with the output of the Sun, or any of the other theories? With the credibility of some of the data of those dealing with climate change at least open to question, are we absolutely certain that we can afford all these precautions that may not even turn out to be necessary? Research question: Which Presidential candidates believe in man-made-global warming and support the Obama-Gore carbon-credit scheme?

Phil Kerpen has a warning for you, America. He wants to alert you to the fact that Barack Obama is using his powers to create regulations to undermine Congress, ignore voters, and “radically transform America.” But Kerpen also has some good news. There’s a way to stop this left-wing assault on our country. You can find out what that something is in his new book, Democracy Denied: How Obama is Ignoring You and Bypassing Congress to Radically Transform America — and How to Stop Him.

For this book — his first if I am not mistaken — Kerpen, the Vice President for Policy at Americans for Prosperity, has decided no less than to save the Republic. Of course, it’s an uphill battle to beat back the war that has been launched against America for sure.

Why is it an uphill battle? Because the way our country is being torn down is happening in the most subtle way possible. Worse, it is all being done with such ersatz legality, a legitimacy so seemingly ironclad, that most Americans are completely unaware of what is happening. And when they are aware of it they imagine there is nothing wrong with it all.

That and the way this destruction is happening is not the sort of glamorous outrage that makes for exciting news coverage. In fact, it’s quite dull. After all, the way the country is being undermined is through long-winded, legalese-filled, opaque regulatory changes. Red tape. Underhanded, jargon-heavy rules, quietly implemented without fanfare or the light of day revealing them for that matter.

Like I said, Kerpen has an uphill battle not only to alert Americans to what is happening right under their very noses, but to excite them enough to do something about it.

Through the bulk of his book Kerpen outlines the way that our Americanness is being smothered in paper with the thousands of pages of new regulations that Obama is weekly churning out from his administration.

Kerpen details the way the Obama administration, guided by a hardcore, left-wing ideology, is attempting to take control of the Internet, is trying to eliminate private property rights, is destroying the business sector in favor of big labor unionization, is using the outsized fear of global warming to ramp up a socialist-styled enlargement of government control on all fronts from the EPA to our energy sector, and more. In each case, Kerpen notes that this regulatory overreach is directly contrary to our American character and our core ideals.

Kerpen also notes that this bacchanalia of regulations and the subsequent growth of the power of the president was even something that the left was exercised about during the eight years of the George W. Bush era. Unfortunately for the veracity of the left, all their concerns of an un-American growth of executive power have been wholly forgotten merely because they like the direction of the obscene overreach implemented by Obama. No end of hypocrisy there, eh?

Kerpen also points out something I’ve been saying for years. Yes, it is true that presidents have for decades been slowly stealing power from the other branches of government. But our elected representatives and senators are equally at fault for not zealously protecting their privileges. They’ve stepped aside and allowed this all to happen. Why have they done this? In my opinion, because it is the easier road traveled. After all, if they abdicate power to the president then they have less need to make tough decisions and stand for delineated positions and that makes their re-election easier!

Anyway, the final chapter gives us a roadmap to pruning these obscene powers stolen from the Congress and the people by this most leftist president in American history. But, it too has a warning. Just “doing the right thing” and voting is not enough. We must not only vote for representatives that will endeavor to take back their power to legislate from an out of control executive branch, we must follow up and force these elected officials to follow through on the charge we’ve handed them.

Seems like a good idea to me.

(Washington Examiner) It’s been said a thousand times: Congress had to pass President Obama’s health care law in order to find out what’s in it. But, despite the repetitiveness, the level of shock from each new discovery never seems to recede.

This time, America is learning about the federal government’s plan to collect and aggregate confidential patient records for every one of us.

In a proposed rule from Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the federal government is demanding insurance companies submit detailed health care information about their patients.

The HHS has proposed the federal government pursue one of three paths to obtain this sensitive information: A “centralized approach” wherein insurers’ data go directly to Washington; an “intermediate state-level approach” in which insurers give the information to the 50 states; or a “distributed approach” in which health insurance companies crunch the numbers according to federal bureaucrat edict.

What could possibly go wrong in handing over being forced to hand over confidential patient records? What if someone hacks in to the government server? What if yet another government moron loses their laptop or briefcase containing private data? What about the government getting a look at the confidential and private business practices of the insurance companies, which could “undermine their competitiveness”?

What happens to the federal government if it loses a laptop full of patient data or business information? What recourse do individual citizens have against an inept bureaucrat who leaves the computer unlocked? Imagine a Wikileaks-sized disclosure of every Americans’ health histories. The results could be devastating – embarrassing – even Orwellian.

Excellent point. What do we do when the government essentially says, in bureaucrat speak, to just suck it up and deal with it?

The HHS attempts to justify its proposal on the grounds that it has to be able to compare performance. No matter what the explanation is, however, this type of data collection is an egregious violation of patient-doctor confidentiality and business privacy. It is like J. Edgar Hoover in a lab coat.

Interesting how the Left always complained about Bush “trashing the Constitution” and invading our privacy, how they say the government should stay out of our bedrooms, as well as how the government should stay out of the doctor’s office when it comes to abortion on demand, yet, here we have a power grab that will put sensitive, personal, and confidential health records in the government’s hands.

Armed troops acting on behalf of a British carbon trading company backed by the World Bank burned houses to the ground and killed children to evict Ugandans from their homes in the name of seizing land to protect against “global warming,” a shocking illustration of how the climate change con is a barbarian form of neo-colonialism.

The evictions were ordered by New Forests Company, an outfit that seizes land in Africa to grow trees then sells the “carbon credits” on to transnational corporations. The company is backed by the World Bank and HSBC. Its Board of Directors includes HSBC Managing Director Sajjad Sabur, as well as other former Goldman Sachs investment bankers. (snip)

An Oxfam report documents how the British outfit has worked with the Ugandan government to forcibly expel over 20,000 people from their homes using terror and violence as part of a lucrative scramble for arable land that can be used to satisfy the multi-billion dollar carbon trading ponzi scheme, which is worth $1.8 million a year to the company.

I am one of the poorest now,” he says.

Longoli and his family of six lost everything last year when, with three months notice, the Ugandan government evicted him and thousands of others from the Mubende and Kiboga districts to make way for the UK-based New Forests Company to plant trees, to earn carbon credits and ultimately to sell the timber.

Today, the village school in Kiboga is a New Forests Company headquarters. More than 20,000 people have been made homeless and Longoli rents a small house in Lubaali village. He says he cannot go back for fear of being attacked.

We’ve heard the Warmist talking point about anthropogenic global warming creating “climate refugees” for a couple of years now, and, I guess they are right, because we see 20,000 who were pushed off their land, violently, because of the beliefs in the anthropogenic global warming community. These people were displaced, violently, to grow trees for carbon credits. The Oxfam report also states

….that much foreign investment actually hurts developing economies, taking fertile land out of production, weakening a country’s ability to feed itself, and displacing tens of thousands of citizens with no recourse or compensation.

All in the name of the climate change hoax. This can be laid directly at the feet of people like Al Gore and his unhinged cult.

A tactical maneuver was in place as Barack Obama took office. It was the political version of Fast and Furious without guns, but yet a clear and present danger. Obama’s strategy, along with the Progressive-Democrat Party, was to unleash a blitzkrieg of legislation on the U.S. economy and its citizens before the opposition could grasp who and what had been voted into office. Much like a military “kill box area,” congressional authority and government agencies were sectioned off, targeted and undermined with a deluge of legislation and executive orders. The goal: Obama’s “transformation of America.” The free-enterprise economy was flooded with a strangle-hold of regulations that took over health care, corporations, housing, insurance and banking. Obama unleashed his “change” with such a fury that opponents experienced a political version of “shock and awe.” With the system overwhelmed, moderate and conservative members of Congress were blind-sided and ineffective to stop the “transformation” being thrust upon the American people.

For two years, Barack Obama had free reign as he appointed over three dozen, unelected Czars to advise him and oversee government policy and agencies. Among the Czars were admitted Socialists, Marxists and radical environmentalists seeking to “transform America” to meet Obama’s Liberal-Progressive agenda. In 2010, the American voter became wise to the destructive governmental changes that usurped their Constitutional freedoms and ravaged their pocketbooks. The conservative base of American voters abruptly woke up the GOP by voting compromising enablers out of office followed by warnings to clean house even further.

Warning number two is now in play for the GOP. With the Progressive-Democrat’s game plan unveiled and its raw corruption exposed, Congress is again on notice as the nation faces elections in 2012. Republicans must now take the offensive and formulate a blitzkrieg of policies and investigations of their own. Every GOP member of the House and Senate, in parity with their committees, must be assigned direct oversight of Obama’s Czars and department heads. Every move, every piece of legislation, every regulation and every request for funding must be tracked and brought out of the shadows and into the light. Obama’s shadow-government of Czars is embedding itself and is being paid by taxpayer dollars to sit in government offices while deconstructing America’s founding policies and principles. The Czars primary targets are free-market capitalism, Constitutional freedoms and U.S. sovereignty. The call to action and accountability by members of Congress has never been greater. Pick a czar or department head, expose their agenda and defund their fiefdoms. If Obama and a Progressive-Democrat majority are elected in 2012, expect the full fury of Obama’s Czars to be unleashed on America in 2013.

American voters need to understand that whether Obama is re-elected or replaced by Hillary Clinton, Progressive-Democrat goals are the same. Both Obama and Clinton are advocates of radical Socialist/Marxist Saul Alinsky whose goal was to radicalize then socialize America and its government. Clinton’s college thesis praised her socialist professor, Saul Alinsky. One of Alinsky’s guiding principles, to all his disciples, was that in order to gain real power and overthrow capitalism it is necessary to crush the middleclass. As a Chicago street activist, Alinsky taught that class and race warfare are the most effective ways to bring about “change.” As the race-and-class-warfare-in-chief, Obama demonstrates he learned Alinsky’s lessons well.

PS – Partial plan of action for the GOP: 1.) Block Obama’s so-called “infrastructure labor union bank” that is a replacement for Obama’s planned money-funneling, climate-change bank in Chicago that was put on-hold by the man-made global warming scandal. 2.) Rein in the unelected National Labor Relations Board that is wielding unauthorized fascist authority. 3.) Assign additional oversight teams to prevent potential election fraud and vote tampering in 2012. Fecklessly investigating voter fraud after the fact does no good. Al Franken, anyone?

“Since 1975,” a study of union violence says, there has been “more than 9,000 reports of union violence.” With that in mind, wouldn’t it scare you if you were told that your name and address would be made public knowledge if you were hired as a temporary or replacement worker during a union strike? If you had any sense you sure would.

Well, now that is exactly what the Obama administration wants to do. Obama’s Department of Labor wants to make a new rule that businesses must disclose the names and addresses of individuals that are hired during strikes to replace unionized workers, whether permanently or temporarily.

With the long, long history of murder, property damage, beatings, and general harassment that unions have engaged in since unions came to this nation, the idea of having a worker’s name and address released to these union thugs so that unions can create hit lists of employees to attack is unconscionable.

Obama plans to put the property, family, and the very lives of thousands of workers in danger just so he can again give a big payoff to Big Labor.

This month the DOL has a public comment period on a 160 page rule change and tucked into that new rule is a section that will require staffing agencies to file with the government when they supply temp workers to businesses experiencing strikes, walkouts, or slow downs initiated by unions.

The new rule seems to also require that the people these temp agencies hire to also file their names and addresses with the DOL via a new form they would have to fill out. (See Labor Union Report for a copy of the form in question and for more technical info on this rule.)

These forms will be public knowledge as soon as the government gets its hands on them. That means that workers’ names and home addresses will also be public knowledge. That means that union thugs can get hold of these names and addresses so that they can amass lists of workers to scare away from their job in order to save union jobs.

Unfortunately, we only have one more day to tell Obama’s union thugs that they should not be allowed to have the names and home addresses of replacement workers. The public comments period closes at the end of the business day on Wednesday, Sept. 21.

You don’t have to be an employer or some anti-union advocate to make a comment. Any American can tell Obama that his idea of allowing unions to attack workers is a bad one. So please do go and make a short comment telling Obama that you are against his new rule putting worker’s lives in danger.

This is yet one more example of the perfect storm of regulation changes that this administration is attempting to throw at the business community.

While Obama sits there on his mountaintop scolding businesses for not hiring, not expanding, and not growing, while he mouths the nice sounding words of “cutting regulations” his regulatory agencies are issuing one business-killing new rule after another. Every month is a new anti-business rules change and this one could result in blood being spilled by his dangerous union pals.
