So what is still going on at Duke can reasonably be extrapolated to at least the Humanities departments of America’s universities and colleges. And that is not pretty.

One of the Lacrosse players who was NOT accused by the pathetic Crystal Gail Mangum was nonetheless caught up in the blast and suspended by the university at roughly the same time as the other players. He is now suing. As you can read here, Ryan McFadyen is arguably the person who behaved with greatest honor in the whole affair. He certainly behaved with greater honor than prosecutor Nifong or Durham police — who tried to suborn him into giving false evidence. There is another glimpse of his character here.

And when McFadyen refused to be intimidated into giving false evidence, Nifong and the police must have realized that he had put them into a dangerous position. Fabricating evidence is a crime with severe penalties. So they immediately went all-out to blacken his name. And that blackening still shows up today in that he has become something of a hate figure to many.

So he is now suing over that defamation and the illegal and improper behaviour of all concerned in the matter.

The trial has however produced some document disclosures that reveal the full depth of the moral depravity of senior Duke U officials. The documents contain bombshell emails from Duke President Brodhead and others suggesting that Duke’s primary concern was to protect its PR, even if that meant sacrificing innocent students.

In documents submitted February 3 by Plaintiffs’ lawyers, President Brodhead is quoted in an email sent very early in the case to other Duke staff:

“Friends: a difficult question is, how can we support our lacrosse players at a devastatingly hard time without seeming to lend aid and comfort to their version of the story? We can’t do anything to side with them, or even, if they are exonerated, to imply that they behaved with honor. The central admin can’t, nor can Athletics.”

And Joe Alleva, then of the Duke Athletic Dept., also testified during his deposition on January 20, 2012, that he made positive and truthful statements about Plaintiffs and their teammates’ character at the University’s press conference on March 28, 2006.

Mr. Alleva testified that he was “crucified” immediately afterwards for making those statements by President Brodhead himself and in front of the Crisis Management Team, all of whom knew how “off-message” Mr. Alleva’s truthful, positive statements about plaintiffs were.

Alleva was the one who later told Duke lacrosse coach Pressler that “it’s not about the truth” any longer; that the case was about the interest groups and the integrity (reputation) of the university. (Hence the title of coach Pressler’s book, “It’s not about the truth”).

Or as Robert K. Steel (then chairman of Duke’s Board of Trustees) said in explaining why Duke would not be defending its falsely-accused students: “Sometimes people have to suffer for the good of the organization”. More details here

You would think that all the exposure of their moral depravity might have created some caution among Duke faculty about race-related matters. It does not appear to have done so. No Leftist will admit it of course but I cannot see why Duke should be regarded as atypical. I don’t think there is anything especially poisonous in the air at North Carolina. I think we have seen coming to the surface at Duke what is smouldering away beneath the surface at most of America’s universities and colleges. They are true heirs of Stalin and the ghastly Soviet Union. They are a nest of vipers.

(Washington Post) The Obama administration on Tuesday will wade into the increasingly divisive national debate over new voting laws in several states that could depress turnout among minorities and others who helped elect the president in 2008.

A dozen states this year tightened rules requiring voters to present state-issued photo identification at the polls, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Although Democratic governors vetoed four of the measures, liberal and civil rights groups have been raising alarms about the remaining laws, calling them an “assault on democracy” and an attempt to depress minority voter turnout.

We’ve talked about this numerous times, and, I just have to wonder, is it racist to think that minorities aren’t capable of getting state issued IDs? I think it just might be. It is pretty damned simple to get a state issued ID, and not particularly expensive. Most people have them. They are needed for tons of stuff in our daily lives. Yet, Democrats think minorities, and they are mostly talking about Blacks, do not have one for one reason or another. I bet Eric Holder has an ID. In my previous job, I saw IDs all day long, from people who made lots of money to people in Section 8 housing who lived on welfare. Some of them were minorities, and they all had ID. Who doesn’t have ID? Heck, in some states even illegal aliens have state issued IDs.

With the presidential campaign heating up, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. will deliver a speech Tuesday expressing concerns about the voter-identification laws, along with a Texas redistricting plan before the Supreme Court that fails to take into account the state’s burgeoning Hispanic population, he said in an interview Monday.

“We are a better nation now than we were because more people are involved in the electoral process,’’ Holder said in the interview. “The beauty of this nation, the strength of this nation, is its diversity, and when we try to exclude people from being involved in the process .?.?. we weaken the fabric of this country.’’

First, some people are too uniformed to vote, as witnessed by thinking “hope and change” is a political platform. But, we can’t exclude people, even if they are idiots. Second, can the AG point to anyone being excluded because they do not have ID who could legally vote otherwise? No? Damn.

When it comes to voting fraud, some conservatives have long argued that it is a serious problem, although others say the number of such cases is relatively low. Studies of the issue have reached different conclusions on the extent of the problem.

“You constantly hear about voter fraud .?.?. but you don’t see huge amounts of vote fraud out there,’’ Holder said.

So, the AG of the USA has no problem with some violations of federal law? Is anyone surprised?

Democrats freaked after the 2000 and 2004 elections, claiming massive voter fraud which put Bush in the White House and saw his re-election. They latched on to many things, but one thing that stops some fraud is the requirement for ID. They do not want their people who vote multiple times to have to prove they are who they are. Furthermore, they are having a conniption fit over reduced early voting. Last time I checked, the Constitution gave Congress the duty to choose a voting day, and by law they made it the 1st Tuesday in November following the 1st Monday in November. That’s why it is called “Election Day” not election weeks.

Anyhow, Democrats talk a good game about doing all that can be done to reduce election fraud, but, when push comes to shove, they know it is a necessity in order to get Democrats elected, as Powerline points out in wondering if the Obama admin. is coordinating with left wing groups on this issue.

(CBS’s Sharyl Attkisson)ATF officials didn’t intend to publicly disclose their own role in letting Mexican cartels obtain the weapons, but emails show they discussed using the sales, including sales encouraged by ATF, to justify a new gun regulation called “Demand Letter 3?. That would require some U.S. gun shops to report the sale of multiple rifles or “long guns.” Demand Letter 3 was so named because it would be the third ATF program demanding gun dealers report tracing information.

On July 14, 2010 after ATF headquarters in Washington D.C. received an update on Fast and Furious, ATF Field Ops Assistant Director Mark Chait emailed Bill Newell, ATF’s Phoenix Special Agent in Charge of Fast and Furious:

“Bill – can you see if these guns were all purchased from the same (licensed gun dealer) and at one time. We are looking at anecdotal cases to support a demand letter on long gun multiple sales. Thanks.”

On Jan. 4, 2011, as ATF prepared a press conference to announce arrests in Fast and Furious, Newell saw it as “(A)nother time to address Multiple Sale on Long Guns issue.” And a day after the press conference, Chait emailed Newell: “Bill–well done yesterday… (I)n light of our request for Demand letter 3, this case could be a strong supporting factor if we can determine how many multiple sales of long guns occurred during the course of this case.”

One thing to note, the gun control being pushed here was not about the typical Liberal bugaboos, assault rifles (which are any rifle that looks scary) and handguns. That said, this is really the first confirmation that Los Federales wanted to use the operation to enact some controls on long gun sales because they and the other federal agencies were forcing gun shop owners to sell them multiple long guns which they then let walk across the Mexican border without alerting the Mexican government, and then said guns were used to kill lots of people, including a US Border Agent, Brian Terry.

Every day we seem to get more revelations about Fast and Furious and Operation Gunwalker. Eric Holder gets to talk to Congress again today. Just think back to the Bush years: the Democrats and their MSM supporters would be calling for Bush’s impeachment by this point.

(Daily Caller) Embattled Attorney General Eric Holder today demanded The Daily Caller stop publishing articles about the growing calls in Congress for his resignation because of the failed Operation Fast and Furious gun-walking program.

As Holder’s aide was escorting the attorney general offstage following his remarks Tuesday afternoon at the White House, a Daily Caller reporter introduced himself and shook Holder’s hand. The reporter asked him for a response to the growing chorus of federal legislators demanding his resignation.

Holder stepped towards the exit, then turned around, stepped back toward the reporter, and sternly said, “You guys need to — you need to stop this. It’s not an organic thing that’s just happening. You guys are behind it.”

Holder then walked offstage without answering TheDC’s request for comment about calls for his resignation.

So, Holder thinks that the DC is behind so many people calling for his own resignation? Sheesh, it’s not like some 300 people, including Border Patrol agent Brian Terry were killed by the guns that the ATF, a department of Holder’s DOJ, let walk into Mexico, without alerting the government of Mexico, and without tracking the guns at all….oh, that did happen? Hmph. Strange. If Holder was a Republican, the Democrats would call for a criminal investigation and prosecution.

Currently 52 members of Congress, three presidential candidates and two sitting Governors have called for Holder’s immediate resignation. Many of those lawmakers and political figures have issued statements exclusively to The Daily Caller in which they have called for Holder to step down. This is chiefly because TheDC is the most prominent mainstream media outlet covering this burgeoning international scandal.

It’s because the DC is one of the only media outlets bothering to cover and investigate Fast and Furious/Operation Gunrunner. Most liberal media outlets will, at best, simply report the basics. But, the big boys, NY Times, Washington Post, ABC News, MSNBC, etc, do not investigate, which was the point of giving the press a specific mention in the 1st Amendment, to be able to investigate, ask questions, and publish information regarding the government without fear of reprisal.

I have in front of me a copy of the District Court judgment of today’s date in the matter of Eaves v. Donnelly in which Renee Eaves was awarded the sum of $93,000 against Barry John Donnelly and the State of Queensland.

Ms Eaves is a very attractive blonde model from whom (I surmise) constable Donnelly wanted sex. He apparently was such a low character that he thought he could coerce her into it. She did not oblige him.

So he launched a campaign of harassment against her, secure in the assumption that a dumb blonde could never do anything to touch a Queensland cop.

He arrested her repeatedly on trumped up charges, all of which were thrown out when they came to court.

It was then that Renee showed her steel. She was NOT just a pretty face but a woman determined to get justice against the scum concerned.

And she stuck at it for years. She of course complained to the CMC [supposed police watchdog] — where police investigate police — and they rejected her complaint.

She then began to get media coverage of the matter, hoping that would shake some action loose. It didn’t but it stressed out the cop. He went on stress leave for a year and then resigned.

But Renee still felt that the police had to be held to account — to discourage oppression of other women by police. So she launched a damages claim in the District Court, where she showed she is not only a steely blonde but a smart one. She repeatedly cross-examined successfully.

During her long battle to get into the District Court, however, Renee ran out of money. Everything about the law is expensive and her means were slender. She in fact ran out just before the matter was due to come up so it looked as if her long battle was going to be for nought.

At that point I stepped in and paid her legal costs from that point on. I had never even met her but I have had a loathing against scum police ever since the extraordinary Barry Mannix case — where the corrupt police got off Scot-free.

The real villain in this case, however is not the scum cop but rather the police service and the CMC who did nothing to pull him into line or attempt to make amends for his deeds. Except for the extraordinary courage of Ms Eaves, the guilt of the cop in the matter would never have been established.

And in the end it is the taxpayer who will pay — well over $100,000 all up when legal costs are included.

Several lawmakers are questioning the Obama administration about whether the controversial “Fast and Furious” gunrunning probe may have had a cousin in Florida that resulted in guns being trafficked to Central America.

Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., penned a letter Tuesday to Attorney General Eric Holder and ATF Acting Director Kenneth Melson inquiring about a program known as “Operation Castaway.” Other top lawmakers are also starting to look into it, though ATF claims the program was above board and not similar to Operation Fast and Furious at all.

The Justice Department says Castaway was an anti-gun trafficking operation handled by an ATF division in Florida. It resulted last year in a slew of convictions for defendants the department claimed provided firearms linked to violent crimes around the world. But in light of questions surrounding the Fast and Furious probe out of ATF’s Phoenix division, Bilirakis questioned whether Castaway bore the same suspicious hallmarks.

He asked Holder and Melson whether “similar programs included the possible trafficking of arms to dangerous criminal gangs in Honduras with the knowledge of the ATF’s Tampa Field Division” and a Justice Department office, via Castaway.

Bilirakis’ letter specifically asked whether the Tampa division participated in a “gun walking” scheme allowing guns to go to Honduras. He also asked whether ATF or DOJ know if any of the firearms ended up in the hands of the “notorious” MS-13 gang — a violent gang spread across Central America, Mexico and the United States.

The ATF claims that everything was hunky dorey with Castaway, and that the operation was completed successfully with a few arrests. Isn’t that what they were saying before Operation Fast and Furious exploded in their faces? Should we be sending guns to criminals, gang-bangers, and other assorted scumbags in other countries? Yet, here in the USA, liberals and Team Obama want to restrict the legal sales of guns to legal Americans. Time will tell whether this will grow.

After greeting her with a hug, the back of Obama’s head was all that Debra Burlingame saw after she asked the president a question vital to the CIA and national security. On the heels of the death of Osama Bin Laden, President Barack Obama set-up a May 5th meeting between 9/11 families and first responders. It was there that Debra Burlingame stepped forward as a citizen soldier. On behalf of CIA interrogators who face trial for waterboarding 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Burlingame asked the logical question. Since the efforts of CIA interrogators helped lead Obama to Bin Laden’s whereabouts, Burlingame asked Obama if he will intervene with Attorney-General Eric Holder to drop the Justice Department’s charges against the CIA interrogators whose work helped lead to the Al-Qaeda leader’s death.

On Fox News with Host Martha MacCallum, Burlingame described her encounter with Obama. Burlingame said that she told Obama that she was aware that Attorney-General Eric Holder was still pursuing possible criminal charges against CIA interrogators even though they were cleared in two investigations. According to Burlingame, sources within the government tell her that it is Obama that instructed Holder to indict the CIA operatives and that “Eric Holder was along for the ride.” Burlingame described her brief interaction with the President. With his AG still holding a hammer over the heads of the CIA families, she asked if Obama will now intervene:

Burlingame: “I know you can’t tell your Attorney-General what to do…”

Obama: “No, I can’t.”

Burlingame: “But, that shouldn’t stop you from offering your opinion.”

Obama: “You’re a former attorney. You know I can’t tell him what to do.”

Burlingame: “Sir, that doesn’t mean you can’t at least give him your opinion.”

Obama: “No, I won’t.”

With no further comment, according to Burlingame, the President turned and walked away.

As a result of the interrogating techniques of the CIA, Bin Laden is dead. Obama calls it a “good day for America.” Further collateral results of waterboarding are Obama’s current hero status and poll bump. Requiring more common sense than courage, Obama should have the guts to declare the CIA interrogators national heroes along with the Navy Seals.

Amid two wars and a third in the making, Obama indicates that he wants the tragedy of 9/11 behind him coupled with his unwillingness to protect CIA interrogators. His words create a chilling effect – signaling intelligence operatives that they remain targets of his administration.

Burlingame: But, this affects our national security going forward.”

Obama: But, we’re not looking back.”

Burlingame: “But, Eric Holder is looking back.”

Burlingame exposed Obama’s mixed intentions regarding the war on terror and his support of the CIA when it comes to protecting America’s national security. Burlingame says she is just keeping a promise she made in memory of her brother, Charles Burlingame, pilot of Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon. Such is the courage and heart upon which America was built.

In a series of questions and comments earlier in the hearing, Culberson insisted that race had infected the decision-making process.

Politico:

“There’s clearly evidence, overwhelming evidence, that your Department of Justice refuses to protect the rights of anybody other than African Americans to vote,” the Texas Republican said. “There’s a pattern of a double standard here.”

Holder’s reply was that he disagreed – vehemently – that there is any such evidence. But there is such evidence. There is the testimony of two people who were integral parts of the Department of Justice and the handling of the case until the social justice agenda commenced. One was transferred to the hinterlands, and the second quit because the Department was so lacking in integrity. The one who quit, J. Christian Adams said a DOJ department head stated there would be no attempt to prosecute Black wrongdoers for any kind of voter fraud or intimidation, but there was no plan to also exempt Whites for doing the same – or any other ethnicity.

In the first place, the New Black Panthers (three of them) refused to show up to court – over and over for a five month period. A default judgment was handed down. Holder refused to honor it and ordered the case dismissed. Some inside Justice were outraged, not to mention those inside Congress. One of the Black Panthers wielding a nightstick that day in Philadelphia said this:

i has waited all my life for the day that Strong Black men could stand outside a voting poll in a Honk neighborhood and beat republiKKKan voters with a baseball bat to keep the motherfu**ers from voting for they racist candidate and walk away scott free and be a hero in the black community,,,,,,,,,,and that day finally here

The New Black Panthers are Eric Holder’s “people,” and he will have his brand of justice for them. The lawlessness of this administration, and this so-called Justice Department is despicable.

Judge Martin Feldman’s ruling — which is stuffed with harsh words for Interior — orders the department to pay attorneys’ fees in the case against last year’s drilling ban brought by several offshore oil services companies.

Feldman is the judge who last June struck down Interior’s initial drilling ban, issued in the wake of the BP oil spill. Interior issued a new version of the deepwater ban in July that it eventually lifted in October, but permitting for deepwater projects has not yet resumed.

“Such dismissive conduct, viewed in tandem with the reimposition of a second blanket and substantively identical moratorium and in light of the national importance of this case, provide this Court with clear and convincing evidence of the government’s contempt of this Court’s preliminary injunction Order,” Fedman wrote in Wednesday’s ruling. Feldman is with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District Court of Louisiana.

Judge Feldman received death threats after his original ruling (not likely from the Tea Party) and it was necessary for him to increase security for his personal safety.

So why am I saying that Obama is also in contempt when the judge did not affirm such? Here’s why: during that whole terrible time, with the oil gushing, people out of work, the seafood industry shutdown and still suffering today, the administration asked a panel of “experts” to advise them on a ban on drilling. The experts did so. Salazar claimed the “experts” recommended a moratorium, which was a lie - and Salazar implicates Obama, saying “It was my decision and the president’s decision to move forward.

The experts, recommended by the National Academy of Engineering, say Interior Secretary Ken Salazar modified their report last month, after they signed it, to include two paragraphs calling for the moratorium on existing drilling and new permits.

”None of us actually reviewed the memorandum as it is in the report,” oil expert Ken Arnold told Fox News. “What was in the report at the time it was reviewed was quite a bit different in its impact to what there is now. So we wanted to distance ourselves from that recommendation.”

Salazar apologized to those experts Thursday.

They also said that because the floating rigs are scarce and in high demand worldwide, they will not simply sit in the Gulf idle for six months. The rigs will go to the North Sea and West Africa, possibly preventing the U.S. from being able to resume drilling for years.

True the ruling mentions only the Department of Interior, but Salazar made it clear Obama agreed with changing the wording of experts who had to sign-off on the report.Read the ruling here.

The following is the original ruling against a moratorium which leaves no doubt as to the judge’s intentions:

[Defendants] are hereby immediately prohibited from enforcing the Moratorium, entitled ‘Susension of Outer Continental Shelf )OCS) Drilling of New Deepwater Wells,’ dated May 28, 2010, and NTL No. 2010-N04 seeking implementation of the Moratorium, as applied to all drilling on the OCS in water at depths greater than 500 feet.

This week we have seen more of this Obama arrogance. A Florida Federal Court judge struck down the whole of the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) but the administration is moving forward anyway. We are looking for contempt of court charges on this issue as well.

An aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid repeatedly lied to federal immigration and FBI agents and submitted false federal documents to the Department of Homeland Security to cover up her illegal seven-year marriage to a Lebanese national who was the subject of an Oklahoma City Joint Terror Task Force investigation, FoxNews.com has learned.

Diana Tejada, Reid’s Hispanic Press Secretary, admitted to receiving payment for “some of her expenses” in exchange for fraudulently marrying Bassam Mahmoud Tarhini in 2003, strictly so he could obtain permanent U.S. residency, according to court documents.

Tarhini, now 37, was held in jail and at an immigration detention center in connection with his 2009 indictment on felony charges, documents show. He pleaded guilty to entering a fraudulent marriage to evade immigration laws — a Class D felony — in November 2009, and he was deported in March 2010. …

In court documents, Tejada, who was also the Press Secretary of Hispanic Media for the Senate Majority Conference Committee, is referred to as “an uncharged coconspirator in the crime of perjury, filing false immigration documents, the crime of sham marriage.”

Why she was never charged remains a mystery, especially since she confessed to everything.

Tarhini reportedly wanted to pull off the phony marriage scheme so as to avoid compulsory service in the Lebanese National Army. Soon after the fake marriage, Tejada moved to Washington to work for the openly racist radical left group National Council of La Raza (the Race), which specializes in securing special privileges from Big Government at the expense of the gringo. This put her on track for a job with Dingy Harry.

As recently as five weeks ago, on Sept. 21, 2010, Tejada appeared as a guest on a Spanish-language radio program in her official capacity as a spokeswoman for Harry Reid.

Let’s see if we’ve got everything: fraud, check; contempt for the sanctity of marriage, check; potential facilitation of terrorism, check; facilitation of illegal immigration, check; thwarted justice, check; avoidance of military service, check; radical left politics, check; anti-Caucasian racism, check. Sounds like Tejada has a bright future as a Democrat.

Let’s hope the same can’t be said of Harry Reid.
