A federal judge ordered the Tangipahoa Parish School Board this week to hire qualified black applicants for administrative positions until 40 percent of these positions are held by black educators, court records show.

Blacks make up only 29% of Tangipahoa Parish’s population.

Lemelle has imposed his racial preferences from the bench before:

Last year, Lemelle ordered the School Board to hire a black coach who had been passed over for a job opening at Amite High School.

Say a candidate for an administrative job in the schools of Lemelle’s fiefdom has no qualifications whatsoever other than the one that matters, black skin. The superintendent can refuse to recommend him, but…

If the superintendent does not recommend a black applicant for a position, he must submit written reasons to a committee made up of the chief desegregation plan implementation officer, director of personnel and minority recruitment officer.

This committee then may interview the rejected applicant and decide whether to recommend that person to the School Board anyway.

The objective of course is “diversity” — that is, naked anti-Caucasian racism.

But this hasn’t left the Left at a loss to explain Nidal Malik Hasan’s horrific killing spree. It was caused by all the things liberals don’t like — guns, for example. To quote Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, whose corrupt machine politics helped produce our Community Organizer in Chief:

Unfortunately, America loves Guns. We love guns to a point where that uh we see devastation on a daily basis. You don’t blame a group.

Likewise, it was America’s unfortunate love of air travel that caused Hasan’s colleagues to fly passenger airliners into buildings full of innocent people on September 11. You don’t blame a group, unless that group is normal Americans.

If anything good can come of the Islamic atrocity at Fort Hood, it is that liberals in both the government and the media have now squandered the absolute last of their credibility. It simply isn’t possible for them to deny any longer that their depraved ideology puts them on the side of the savages who are trying to destroy us.

The ruling by the court in Strasbourg, which Italy said it would appeal, said crucifixes on school walls — a common sight that is part of every Italian’s life — could disturb children who were not Christians.

That is, Muslim colonists might not like that Italy has been a Christian country since Constantine converted to Christianity in the 4th century.

Even some commies are aghast:

Paola Binetti, a Catholic in the opposition Democratic Party, the successor of what was once the West’s largest communist party, said: “In Italy, the crucifix is a specific sign of our tradition.”

Education Minister Mariastella Gelmini concurs:

The history of Italy is marked by symbols and if we erase symbols we erase part of ourselves.

This of course is exactly why progressive Eurocrats want crucifixes banned. The objective is not just to suppress Christianity, which is hardly even defended anymore; it is to eradicate Western civilization. That’s why no effective measures are taken to save Europe from the ongoing Muslim demographic conquest — and why amnesty will soon open the door to massive Third World colonization of the USA.

On the website of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) a press release from Obama’s U.S. Census Bureau Director, Robert Groves, can be found. That press release appears to make obvious that the Bureau plans to count illegal aliens in our census. The press release was issued to America’s Hispanic organizations to urge them to help with the coming census.

In that press release, Groves says the following (my bold):

We have the enormous challenge of convincing everyone in the country to participate in the national count – regardless of race, ethnicity or citizenship status. To reach the Latino community, we are counting on community-based initiatives like ya es hora to partner with us in spreading the word that the 2010 Census is easy, important and safe,” said U.S. Census Bureau Director Robert Groves.

Notice that Graves says “regardless of citizenship status.” With this comment it is clear that Graves intends to count illegals in our census.

The Census Bureau intends to work closely with groups that cater to illegals in this country to calculate the national count. The Census Bureau hopes to have success by launching a campaign that will “enhance the Bureau’s efforts to count Latinos through a sustained and aggressive community education initiative to mobilize hundreds of local organizations.”

Why is this such a big deal? Because this will add to the federal funds that will flow to areas that now have officially counted, lower income people, federal funds that will naturally flow into the coffers of Democrats and their cohorts.

Worse, it will add false numbers to our national count and will be one more step toward legalizing people that have broken our laws to get here. Once these people become instant American citizens they will, of course, largely vote Democrat and we will have millions more voters that will be amenable to voting for programs of federal giveaways and freebies to themselves. The Democrat’s power will grow exponentially and our country will be lowered even further as a result.

Illegal aliens should not be counted in the census. Their presence here is illegal and must not be used to direct federal dollars to the areas in which they serve as illegal squatters. Unfortunately, it looks like Obama’s Census Bureau intends to illicitly count illegal aliens as American citizens.

With the state Legislature forced to make dramatic cuts in the prison budget and a three-judge federal panel having recently ordered California lawmakers to release as many as 40,000 inmates in response to the scandalous overcrowding of the California state prison system, it seems like an especially inauspicious time for the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office to be spending some of our few remaining tax dollars seeing if it can finally, after all these years, put Roman Polanski behind bars.

I vehemently disagree with the L.A. Times’s Patrick Goldstein, who gives his article the apologetic title “Roman Polanski still being hounded by L.A. County prosecutors,” on this one. This creepy coward escaped punishment by fleeing the country for decades. I definitely think child molestation, drugging, and rape are worth spending money on prosecution. If Goldstein doesn’t think so, I’d be interested to know what crimes he does think worth pursuing.

Update: More media apologists, and some with major conflicts of interest!

Update 2: Sadly, it’s looking like a slap on the wrist for this atrocious crime after all these years.

At the Children’s Research Lab at the University of Texas — located in liberal Austin, the Berkeley of the Southwest — Birgitte Vittrup attempted to measure how effective propaganda is at instilling multiculturalist ideology in small children. She found that despite parents’ progressive intentions and the homogenous political correctness of everything they see on TV, children 5 to 7 years old tended to consider blacks but not whites to be “mean.” That this could have something to do with playground experiences was not even considered.

Another researcher discovered that white kids are racist at six months old. The article includes this gem of a quote:

It’s horrifying to imagine kids being “proud to be white.”

Just because racism is inborn, as homosexuality has recently become, doesn’t mean it should be celebrated. Newsbleak draws the conclusion that parents must redouble brainwashing efforts, and start them even earlier.

I want to state up front, unequivocally and without doubt, I do not believe that any ethnic, racial or gender group has an advantage in sound judging. I do believe that every person has an equal opportunity to be a good and wise judge regardless of their background or life experiences.
What — the words that I use, I used agreeing with the sentiment that Justice Sandra Day O’Connor was attempting to convey. I understood that sentiment to be what I just spoke about, which is that both men and women were equally capable of being wise and fair judges.

Huh? So, “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.” actually equals “I do believe that every person has an equal opportunity to be a good and wise judge regardless of their background or life experiences.”??? How incredibly inarticulate of her.

Thus, Sotomayor’s characterization of the context of her “wise Latina” remark is the opposite of the truth. She wasn’t “agreeing with the sentiment that Justice O’Connor was attempting to convey,” as she told Senator Leahy. Rather, she staked out a position in opposition to O’Connor’s. In her speech she expressly disagreed with O’Connor’s view, as Sotomayor put it, “that both men and women were equally capable of being wise and fair judges.”

I’ve been on the fence as to whether Senators should vote to confirm Sonia Sotomayor, but this rather breathtaking dishonesty provides strong grounds to vote against her confirmation.

A disproportionate number of African-American students in many Michigan school districts are being suspended and expelled for minor infractions, leaving those kids more likely to end up in prison, says a report out today from the ACLU of Michigan.

“Everyone should be disturbed about the results of the report,” Mark Fancher, a staff attorney for the Racial Justice Project at the ACLU of Michigan, said today at a news conference announcing the results.

The group found that in many districts, while black students make up a small share of the student body, they make up a large share of students who are suspended.

In Ann Arbor Public Schools, for instance, 18% of the student body is black, but nearly 60% of the suspensions went to black students. In the Fitzgerald school district in Macomb County, about 26% of the population is black, but black students make up nearly 45% of suspensions.

In the Ann Arbor district, 83 black students were suspended during the 2006-07 school year for insubordination while 20 white students were suspended for the same reason.

In today’s times teachers are so careful to be politically correct they let kids get away with a lot of things they shouldn’t, and in many cases especially if they are black. Why? Because they know groups like the ACLU lurk around the corner itching to slap down silly lawsuits. In all the ACLU math calculations and statistics, the possibility that a higher percentage of blacks are actually breaking the rules than whites is never considered. Lawsuits like this are absurd and only fuel the continuation of racial division.

The Blog Professor sums it up better than I can:

You just know what’s coming – a redefinition of what “insubordination” means depending on your skin pigmentation. Or a whole slew of other rules that will be applied differently to different groups. To ‘balance’ the numbers, wouldn’t these school districts have to toughen up more on white students while loosening up on black students? That sure wouldn’t create any animosity and lead to even worse problems, would it? I wonder how many Asian students were suspended or removed from those school districts? And does it matter? Note that the ACLU, and by extension the freep, poses the ‘fact’ that suspensions will lead to prison time later in life, in essence blaming the school districts for enforcing the rules rather than the students’ bad behavior. Nationally, black males make up a small proportion of the population while making up a far larger percentage of incarceration. I’m sure the bad behavior has all to do with racism, rather than personal responsibility. Uh – yeah…

Judge Sonia Sotomayor, President Obama’s first Supreme Court nominee, wrote the dissent on a decision rendered by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in the case of Hayden v. Pataki. New York state inmates filed a lawsuit “claiming that because blacks and Latinos make up a disproportionate share of the prison population, the state’s refusal to allow them ballot access amounts to an unlawful, race-based denial of their right to vote.

Sonia Sotomayor

Judge Jose Cabranes wrote the majority decision in favor of the state of New York and against the “criminal felons.” Eight members of the Second Circuit voted against Hayden in the case. The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals rendered the same decision in a similar case. Sotomayor wrote the dissent. According to a Washington Times editorial:

In a remarkably dismissive, four-paragraph opinion, she alleged that the “plain terms” of the Voting Rights Act would allow such race-based claims to go forward.

Judge Cabranes‘ decision in favor of the state was backed up with this:

Particularly compelling is the fact that the Voting Rights Act was passed to help further the aims of the Constitution’s 14th and 15th Amendments. The 14th Amendment specifically allows states to deny the vote to those convicted of crimes.

So, essentially, Sotomayor’s dissent said that Congress could:

…prohibit New York from doing something the Constitution itself specifically endorses.

It’s as if she thinks black and Hispanic felons are convicted in order to deny them the vote, rather than that they are denied the vote as a result of being duly convicted. Her position ignores the fact that it is the convicts’ own actions, their crimes – not any state-based racial discrimination – that make those felons ineligible to vote.

Remember this supposedly single quote from Sonia Sotomayor?

I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would, more often than not, reach a better conclusion.

The White House says if Sotomayor had the opportunity, she would have used other words. Nope, apparently not. She has repeated the same or given a version of the same over and over. As Hot Air says:

Evidently, the idea that her biology makes her a superior judge has been with her for decades.

The woman believes the death penalty is “racist” and “against humanist thinking,” and she believes felons should have the right to vote. We should begin hearing some strong objections to her nomination coming out of Congress this week. Right?
