You have to wonder if the Democrat big wigs are starting to get a bit nervous about the Occupiers, wondering if they will continue to be “mostly peaceful” up to the election, and particularly during the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. In many liberal cities, they have passed laws against “camping” on public property. The Democrat mayor and Dems in Charlotte, NC have already passed a law banning structures that are used for “living accommodation purposes” on city property, and they could be evicted Monday. The DNC will be held in Charlotte. Which is weird, because Occupiers are supposedly “mostly peaceful”

(Washington Post) Dozens of police maintained a late-night guard around City Hall following daylong protests that resulted in 300 arrests. Occupy Oakland demonstrators broke into the historic building and burned a U.S. flag, as officers earlier fired tear gas to disperse people throwing rocks and tearing down fencing at a convention center.

That’s a whole lot of peace, isn’t it? And yet another in a line of flag burnings.

Saturday’s protests — the most turbulent since Oakland police forcefully dismantled an Occupy encampment in November — came just days after the group said it planned to use a vacant building as a social center and political hub and threatened to try to shut down the port, occupy the airport and take over City Hall.

Apparently, their copy of the Bill Of Rights says something about the “right of the people mostly peaceably to assemble, break and enter, trespass, and threaten”.

An exasperated Mayor Jean Quan, who faced heavy criticism for the police action last fall, called on the Occupy movement to “stop using Oakland as its playground.”

“People in the community and people in the Occupy movement have to stop making excuses for this behavior,” Quan said.

No, Liberals in the community need to stop making excuses for this behavior. They needed to do it from the get go. Except, liberals like you, Mayor Quan, put up with it from the get go. More on that in a moment.

The group assembled outside City Hall late Saturday morning and marched through the streets, disrupting traffic as they threatened to take over the vacant Henry Kaiser Convention Center.

The protesters walked to the vacant convention center, where some started tearing down perimeter fencing and “destroying construction equipment” shortly before 3 p.m., police said.

Peaceful.

Quan said that at one point, many protesters forced their way into City Hall, where they burned flags, broke an electrical box and damaged several art structures, including a recycled art exhibit created by children.

She blamed the destruction on a small “very radical, violent” splinter group within Occupy Oakland.

Who’s making excuses now, Mayor Quan?

Here’s the photo of the day for the protest

I have no idea the background of the photo, but, the KosKidz and the DUmmies seem to think that it is emblematic of the problems in America, and that it is shameful. At the DU we see

Horrifying…What kind of orders are the police getting? Are we still a free people?

Makes me want to drive up there and protect the kids- you too? It’s so horrifying to think this is happening in our country.

Well, gee wiz, are we a free country that sees riots that require tear gas, with parents bringing their kids to potential riots, needing gas masks? One DUmmy does mention that perhaps the parents should protect the kids by getting them the hell out of there. And some of the Kos Kidz get that bringing the child is a Bad Idea, but many others are on this wavelength

That photo of a child and her mother wearing…gas masks says it all about the current [disgraceful] state of American society.

That single iconic image should resonate sadly and profoundly with every American for a very long time.

D.C…. WAKE THE HELL UP!!

See, it’s not the fault of the mom who brought their child, knowing they would need a gas mask. It’s the fault of American society! And D.C.! They also blame the Oakland PD. Like this one

I don’t see an encampment. I see a mother and a child standing on the street, but since you never know when the police will attack the citizens, I guess it’s best to make sure you have your gas mask around the clock.

The police wouldn’t need to if you Leftists would stop rioting, breaking and entering, starting fires, etc. But, please, keep it up. Especially in Charlotte.

-By Warner Todd Huston

The gauzy puffery that the Old Media slathers upon the Occupy Wall Street movement has helped keep most Americans in the dark about how nasty, how violent, how outrageous, and even how incredibly lacking in integrity this movement is. On the conservative blogs the truth is well known, of course, but the fact that few Americans seem to know how bad the OWSers are shows that as conservatives we are not effectively getting our message out there.

For the initial two years of its existence the Old Media spent its every waking moment destroying, maligning, and out right lying about the Tea Party movement. Even today you’ll see an occasional swipe at the Tea Patiers made by some hater from the left and the Old Media is happy to “report” the slander, naturally.

You might remember when Obama operative Anna Park tried to start a counter movement that she prosaically called “the Coffee Party” during the heyday of the Tea Party. You may also recall that those Old Media mavens, while daily lying and lambasting the Tea Partiers, fell all over themselves to play up the silly and quickly failed and forgotten “Coffee Party” effort.

Similarly, when the Occupiers hit the scene, the Old Media went into paroxysms of ecstasy over the whole thing. Even today, after conservatives have so effortlessly ripped away the veneer from the absurdity and essential anti-Americanness of the OWSers, the Old Media is still slathering OWS with unearned and illicit praise.

Most Americans are unaware that real communists and socialists and other anti-American groups form the core of OWS. Few Americans understand that these people are drug addicts and criminals that have indulged every imaginable crime at these events. From property destruction to child abandonment to rape to gun crimes, just about every crime imaginable from small to large have been committed at these events. People have even died at these things!

There is even a website dedicated to chronicling the arrests made at OWS events. As of the writing of this article they had noted 5,975 arrests at OWS events across the nation. And this is a left-wing hosted website, too. You see they are proud of these arrests.

Compared to the several years of Tea Party events, the OWS events have been a criminal’s paradise. Not only have the Tea Partiers never had any arrests, or fights, or criminality, at their events they’ve even left every park they used cleaner than they were when they started their events!

Just because the OWS movement is dying down right now — maybe only due to the winter cold — that doesn’t mean the outrages of the OWSers is slowing. Just recently a church that made the foolish mistake of helping these criminals found its facilities vandalized. A $12,000 baptismal fount was stolen along with laptops and other items. These creeps even urinated on Church property. There have been other churches that have been vandalized when they tried to assist the OWSers, too.

With all the criminality that has occurred at these supposedly peaceful events, the public should have long ago turned against OWS. Yet polls still show that Americans have not turned against OWS. Why? Because the Old Media has told them how great it all is and has made a concerted effort to hide the truth from people.

By contrast, the Tea Party’s image has been thoroughly battered with Americans. Is it any surprise with the near daily barrage of hate the Old Media bludgeons the Tea Party with?

If no other example is believable to show how the Old Media establishment is sold out to the far left, the difference in the way it has treated the Tea Party movement and the Occupy Wall Street movement is solid proof of that bias.

Sadly, even after we’ve exposed all the criminality at the OWS events in conservative media outlets from newspapers to TV to blogs, the fact that Americans still have not turned foursquare against the Occupiers shows that we have made little headway in reaching the country with the truth.

It is more common everyday. A man buys a house, the market collapses and suddenly his house is worth less than the mortgage, then he loses his job until, as a single father, he finds himself in foreclosure with no place to raise his two preteen daughters. It’s a case made for the Occupy Wall Street movement to swoop in and right wrongs, right? Maybe not because the OWSers in New York stole this poor guy’s home away from him in order to give it to one of their own members. Confused? Read on.

A Brooklyn man living in an apartment with his two daughters was alerted to the fact that his in-foreclosure-home had been broken into and occupied by Occupiers, as in Occupy Wall Street activists. When he rushed to his home he found a group of strangers that had broken into his home claiming to have “reclaimed” the house and given it to another family.

“They’re trying to take a house and say the bank is robbing the people because the mortgage is too high — so contact the owner!” fumed Wise Ahadzi, 28, who owns the home at 702 Vermont St. in East New York.

Apparently Ahadzi had bought the house in 2007 for the princely sum of $424,500 but during the housing bubble of 2009 the house ended up being worth only half that. Then, when he lost his job and got behind on the mortgage, the bank foreclosed on the property.

Enter — illegally, mind you — Occupy Wall Streeters who discovered the home in foreclosure and decided that they’d steal it away from “the bank” with the ostensible goal of helping the needy.

Ahadzi is rightfully indignant that they didn’t contact him so that they could help him retake possession of his own house. Ahadzi also asked why they didn’t try to help him and his two daughters to which the Occupiers claimed he “didn’t qualify” because he wasn’t in their group. “Why can’t you fight for me?,” he wondered.

So, who did they want to “give” the house to? An organizer for VOCAL-NY — a gay rights activist group. A fellow with a job and one that belongs to their own group, yet.

Worse, when Ahadzi got to his home he discovered that the Occupiers had taken all his personal belongings and shoved them in a pile in the basement and then began to tear out walls and “remodel” the place, spending, they claimed, over $9,000 in the effort.

This isn’t a lone incident, either. It is apparently an idea that the OWSers are going to try and push nation-wide. At a recent Chicago OWS rally, for instance, a purported Lutheran pastor preached an OWS sermon urging OWSers to do the same thing in the Windy City.

John Ruberry attended the speech and notes that Reverend Tom Gaulke told those assembled that they were going to repeat the New York efforts.

“We will be supporting a homeless family in reoccupying a vacant house,” the reverend claimed.

As Ruberry notes, this is called trespassing.

So, what have we learned form this? We’ve learned that OWS is not altruistic in anything they do even as they claim the mantle of Mother Theresa — well, Mother Theresa if she engaged in rapes, drug abuse, deaths, racism, anti-Semitism, property destruction and general lawlessness, anyway.

We’ve learned that, like any self-interested Wall Street Banker, the OWSers only want to enrich themselves and help their own members. They aren’t really interested in helping defend the poor and downtrodden. Just helping themselves.

Albany Police Chief Steven Krokoff came in for heavy criticism by fans of the Occupy “movement” after he ordered the clearing of their downtown encampment pursuant to a court order. The arguments over the actions by police have raged since the December 23 conflagration with Chief Krokoff getting savaged repeatedly by the media and some city councilmen alike. But this week Krokoff confronted his critics and he wasn’t gentle about it!

The big criticism arose when officers used pepper spray when the Occupiers became violent. Since then several Councilmen, such as Anton Konev, have criticized the police saying that their actions were unnecessary. Konev, for instance, has announced that he has no confidence in the Chief and is angling to have him fired. Naturally, Konev has been an open agitator for and supporter of Occupy Albany.

But on January 6, Chief Krokoff came before the city council with a strong defense of his and his officers’ actions delivering a withering blast to some of the councilmen that have come to the defense of the lawless Occupiers.

In what the Albany Times Union called a “scorching offensive” chief Krokoff scolded members of the City Council for supporting the criminal element of the Occupiers instead of supporting their own police department.

Chief Krokoff also went to the unusual extreme of slamming several of the councilmen by name for supporting the Occupy Whatevers:

“Shame on Councilman Konev and Councilman Freeman, who at every turn, seem so willing to distort the truth of any situation, no matter how tragic, and use it for their own personal gain. Shame on you both for mattering so little to yourselves and your community that you have to create hate and further half-truths just to feel some sense of relevancy. This entire city has seen the content of your character, and I pity you both.”

The chief may be about to become a hero to the law and order set with this spirited defense of his actions.

Albany political blogger Rusty Weiss is one of those cheerleading for Chief Krokoff. Weiss wonders why the media are not pointing out that some of the city councilmen that have been criticizing the chief “were vociferously participating in the Occupy Albany assembly”?

Good question.

Since some of the chief’s critics on the council have been involved in the Occupy movement wouldn’t that make their criticism heavily biased and lacking credibility?

Worse, these Occupiers are hardly innocent bystanders. After the pepper spraying incident, Occupiers began circulating posters identifying one of the policemen involved and advertising his home address where he and his family live. The officer has received numerous threats from Occupiers since.

It’s no wonder that the Chief has about had enough of the harassment. After all, when we compare what happened to protesters in Albany to that of other countries, we see how silly the Occupiers look claiming that they were victims of a brutal police raid. A few spurts of pepper spray on the Occupy Albany folks don’t compare favorably to the real bullets sprayed on Egyptian protesters, after all.

Hey, they just wanted to make some mayhem and assault the symbol of the new year

(USA Today) Dozens of Occupy Wall Street protesters were arrested on New Year’s Eve as they tore down barricades surrounding New York City’s Zuccotti Park, the former home of their encampment that was dismantled several weeks ago.

About 500 protesters gathered in the park Saturday evening, where they rang in the new year with songs and their now-familiar chant of “We are the 99 percent.”

About 11 p.m., after a relatively quiet evening, some protesters began to tear down the barricades that have surrounded the park since New York police officers evicted Occupy Wall Street members on Nov. 15, protesters said Sunday. Police then moved in.

“They (police) got very aggressive and started pushing people and pepper-spraying people,” protester Jason Amadi, 27, of San Jose, California, said Sunday. “I got pepper-sprayed in the face.”

Well, yeah, you’re tearing down barricades around a privately owned park. The NYPD told you not to do that. You were rushing in in small teams to grab the barricades and put them in the middle of the park. You got what you deserved. You should feel lucky the NYPD didn’t release the dogs to munch on your testicles.

The New York Police Department said 68 people were arrested, and at least one person was accused of assaulting a police officer, who suffered cuts on one hand. Other charges included trespassing, disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment.

Yeah, that cop was assaulted with a pair of scissors. Nice of the AP to include that part in their story, eh?

“Many of us there felt that it was a symbol of the new year, of what was to come,” he said. “People protesting peacefully, but without fear.”

If tearing down barricades and assaulting police officers is “peaceful”, can you imagine what happens when they get violent?

It’s that time of year again, time for newspapers and magazines to start floating their “top stories of the year” lists and Time Magazine has a whole “Top of Everything” list with which to thrill us. But it is Time’s Top U.S. News Stories list that deserves some closer scrutiny because on it Time has determined that the Occupy Wall Street tale is the number one story of the year. As if anyone ever doubted that this left-wing temper tantrum would pique Time’s interest most.

But, seriously, now. Is Gabrielle Giffords somehow a lesser story than the Occupiers? Is the long-drawn out GOP primary campaign a lesser story? How about the debt crisis? Is that somehow a less important story than Occupy Wall Street? Apparently Time thinks so.

Certainly these lists are always somewhat subjective. After all, what one considers important another may not. But some of these entries seem to point out Time’s ideology as opposed to a serious attempt to pick the top stories of 2011. And making the Occupy story number one is pure ideology.

Time puts this story above the bad economy, Iraq, the Penn State sex abuse case, and the Gabrielle Giffords shooting. In fact, if it weren’t for the bad economy, the debt ceiling debate and the bank crisis this Occupy business would not have occurred at all.

Naturally, Time’s characterization of the “movement” is all sweetness and light. Not one mention is made of the now over 400 arrests made as a result of crimes perpetrated by the Occupiers. In fact, Time blames all the ills of the Occupiers on the beleaguered cities for their “heavy handed-policing” of the protests.

Time also disgorges the discreditable claim that the OWSers are the left’s Tea Partiers. This is a calumny against the Tea Party that really needs to be eliminated from the national discussion of the two movements.

Another aspect of the Occupy events that went unmentioned in Time’s laudatory entry on the protests is the fact that taxpayers are being charged millions of dollars in tax money we don’t have to clean up after and police these protests. This somehow never makes an appearance in Time’s gladhanding of the Occupiers.

What is clear with this entry is that Time Magazine had an agenda with this pick. Sure the OWSers deserved a mention on a top ten list. But that it made number one and that the entry ignored all the negative aspects of the protests proves what the magazine is really attempting to do with this list.

Besides the guffaw inducing pick of the Occupiers as the top story, two other choices are odd, to say the least. Number 10 is the Execution of Troy Davis, a death row inmate in Georgia. My guess is that 99 percent of the country never heard of this story so how it could make a top 10 list is a mystery, unless its inclusion is a political statement against the death penalty.

Then there is slot number nine: “Freak Weather.” Come on. This year’s weather has not been any “freakier” than that of any other year. We get this all the time, though. Somehow everyone imagines that the weather they’ve seen in their lives is worse than that of any other era. But in reality, weather is always both awe inspiring and inconvenient and it is these visceral feelings that weather induces in people that makes them think their weather is worse than it’s ever been.

Sadly, what we have here is yet another attempt by a maven of the Old Media to push ideology in the guise of “news.”

Time’s Top U.S. News Stories

-By Warner Todd Huston

There was once a famous liberal congressman from New York who reminded his opponents that they could have their own opinions but not their own facts. This, of course, was Daniel Patrick Moynihan, one of the few respectable liberals of his or any other day. But, for the most part, the left operates on pushing the lie until it is accepted as “fact” whether it is true or not. And the leftist blog Crooks and Liars pulled a doozie this week.

Apparently the guffaw inducing leftist blog thinks that the Occupy protests have been completely peaceful despite the hundreds of arrests, the rapes, the property destruction, theft, and other various act of lawbreaking! No, they are not joking.

C&L, blogger John Amato centered his risible claim upon the video of the “bedlam” that occurred at a recent college football game that saw the Oklahoma State University Cowboys beat the University of Oklahoma Sooners. As the game ended, OSU fans flooded the field to celebrate. Unfortunately, in their exuberance to tear down the goal posts upwards to twelve fans were hurt.

Amato called this a “riot.”

“Some reports called it as terrifying as a natural disaster,” Amato luridly began. “Thousands of crazed fans rushed onto the field. It’s a typical response at many college football games, but this one caused massive injuries to people participating in the rioting.”

Rioting? It was hardly a “riot.” It wasn’t anything to excuse, mind you, but to call it a riot is hyperventilating at its worst.

I have to thank Tina Korbe who brought this to my attention at her HotAir blog. Now, I don’t bother much with lefty blogs. After all, who needs lefty blogs when the Old Media fills that bill so excruciatingly? Usually I only hit the lefty blogs when I want to see the left’s reaction to a particularly hot story, so this one I missed. But Korbe was at that game and she has a first hand account of the “riot.”

Now, it just so happens that I was in Stillwater, Okla., for this game — and I’d characterize the atmosphere afterward as anything but violent. Jubilant, ecstatic, buoyant, sure. But violent? Not so much. Nevertheless, it’s incumbent upon me to say — and, honestly, I’m very happy to say it — that injuries caused by excessive celebration after a football game are unnecessary, inexcusable and regrettable.

Korbe’s account aside, it is easy to see that the fans on the field were not there to destroy the place. Save tearing down the goal posts, as stupid a tradition as there ever was, the fans were just happy not overly destructive. This was hardly the sort of riots we’ve seen in years past when pro basketball teams have won the big game.

Regardless Amato seriously tried to compare the “riot” at the football game to the “peaceful” OWS protests. He lamented that OWSers were treated to pepper spray and had the evil police pushing them around. Those poor OWSers were treated to a “Stasi-type response” by the man… man. Why, those kindly OWSers were just “sleeping in tents,” ya know? What could be more peaceful?

Amato then went on to decry the money that it cost “to medically transport and treat severely wounded people and clean up after this violent outburst.”

All this arm waving and foaming at the mouth is a perfect example of the great lie, a misdirection used to distract people into accepting that his underlying premise was fact. However, in truth it is the OWS “movement” that has cost cities across this land — and therefore you and I as taxpayers — millions of dollars in police overtime, repairs to destroyed public property, and streets and san clean up crews that had to dispose of the OWSers bodily fluids left in bottles all over these “protests.”

Worse, the act of injudicious jubilation at the football game was nothing compared to the nearly 400 criminal acts perpetrated by OWSers at their anarchic “protests.” And this does not include the breaking of the many thousands of small laws — like permit requirements, vagrancy laws, and rules meant to keep protests orderly and safe for both protesters and passersbye. In fact, every single OWS protest has broken these laws. None of them got permits, none of them observed any of the laws and ordinances passed by the cities in which they gathered.

This is quite unlike the Tea Party movement that was forced to hold to every single tiny little law on the books to be “allowed” to hold their protests over the last two years. Further this is unlike the Tea Partiers that had no arrests, no destruction of private property, no rapes, no… well, nothing like the criminal activity perpetrated by the Occupiers.

Yet, C&L’s Amato pushed the big lie that the OWS events have been entirely free of arrests, free of criminal activity, perfectly peaceful. Amato is employing the left’s favorite game. Tell the lie long enough and scream it loud enough that people start to believe it. That is the goal, at any rate.

If there is one article that the unshowered and squatting in their own filth Occupiers and their supposed supporters should read, it is this one from The Politico

Wall Street is disdained in the court of public opinion — detested by the tea party on the right and the Occupy movement on the left. The public blames financial plutocrats for America’s economic plight more than either President Barack Obama or former President George W. Bush. Less than a quarter of all Americans, according to Gallup, have confidence in the banks, which vie for the lowest spot with Big Business and Congress.

But these angry voters are unlikely to get satisfaction in next year’s presidential election. In fact, things are looking up for the financial elite — which donated more to Washington politicians than almost any other sector of the economy over the past two decades. Wall Street can look forward to a bank-friendly administration if Obama is reelected — and perhaps even better conditions if either of the two leading GOP contenders, Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney, wins the White House.

Despite his occasional remarks that decry “fat cat”’ bankers, Obama has effectively serviced the financial bigwigs. Bank prosecutions have declined markedly under Obama — to levels not seen for more than 25 years. Obama has even tried to derail aggressive bank prosecutions pursued by state attorneys general, most of them liberal Democrats.

Got that, Occupiers? Obama hearts Wall Street. He voted for TARP as a Senator, then gave a ton of money and bailouts to these same “fat cats” while mostly ignoring Main Street when he became (NM)President. His Stimulus packages were political payback for the big wigs who supported his campaign.

Even while trying to exploit the Occupy Wall Street movement for political purposes, Obama still leads in financial sector donations, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. He has secured more cash from the financial elite, at this point, than all the GOP candidates combined. He has even raised twice as much as they have from Bain Capital, the venture firm co-founded by Romney. Why not give up on the white working class when you can sew up the Harvard and Wharton business school constituency?

When are you going to move your protest to a park near the White House, as well as near the individual Obama 2012 campaign headquarters in States?

We know the Occupiers won’t. They are simply an organ of the Left, out there with the same old gripes, with some sexual assault thrown in. 99% of them will be out in the streets advocating for the re-election of Obama. 99% of them will vote the straight Democrat ticket in November 2012, and cheer if Obama is re-elected. And, if a Republican wins, 99% of them will suddenly appear in front of the White House to protest, something they won’t do to Obama.

-By Warner Todd Huston

On November 30, CNN’s T. J. Holmes gave us a great example of how the Old Media is soft peddling the law breaking going on at the Occupy events in order to make these events seem far less dangerous and illicit than they are. Like many in the Old Media, Holmes seems desperate to give lawbreaking Occupiers as much cover as possible — a benefit they never offered the Tea Partiers.

In an interview with an L.A. city police commander about the clearing of Occupy Los Angeles, Holmes did his best to minimize the number of arrests of members of the Occupy protest. The actual number of arrests was 200, but Holmes repeatedly characterized that numbers as “dozens.”

Now, I don’t know about you but when I hear “dozens” I think of the number 24. Being generous I might even say three dozen (a healthy 36) could be thought of as “dozens.” On the other hand, when someone tells me “200″ the word “dozens” doesn’t at all come to mind. I just don’t think of 18 dozen as “dozens.” I think of them as hundreds!

Of course, Holmes was desperate to make hundreds seem less imposing. So, to him, two hundred arrests became minimized to “dozens.”

It must be pointed out here that even after two years of Tea Party protests featuring millions of Americans and often seeing many thousands appearing at any given event never saw 200 arrests during the whole time! In fact, there weren’t even 100 arrests in two years with millions of protesters. Not even 50 or 25 arrests, for that matter.

This soft peddling of the Occupy-Whatevers, though, is of a piece with the penchant of the entire Old Media to ignore the lawbreaking going on at the Occupy events. The truth is simply being ignored by the media. A recent tally by John Nolte shows 364 serious incidents to date of criminal actions — one short of one for every day of the year — at the various Occupy events across the country. And this list doesn’t count the many thousands of local laws, ordinances, and permitting rules that have been flouted by these Occupy protests.

Speaking of permits and other local ordinances, laws that nearly every Occupy event in the country has broken with impunity, the Richmond Tea Party complained that they were charged thousands of dollars by the city of Richmond to be allowed to hold their events (including being forced to take out a $10 million insurance policy) while the Occupy-Whatevers were not charged a cent for their protests. Because of their complaints, the City of Richmond is now auditing the group’s taxes! This is far, far different treatment than the lawbreakers of the Occupy events are being lavished with, isn’t it?

The sad fact is that the Occupiers are being afforded every break, given excuses from complying with every law in order to enjoy their freedom of speech while the Tea Party events were required to observe every dot and crossed “t” of the law to be allowed to observe their First Amendment rights.

But, getting back to CNN’s T.J. Homes, he wasn’t done trying to raise sympathy for the Occupiers by just downplaying the arrests seen in L.A. He even indulged a little fantasy scenario by trying to get the policeman he was interviewing to “admit” that his officers really, really loved those nice hippies.

As chronicled by Newsbusters, Holmes asked a question backed by no evidence and containing no newsworthiness.

“In some ways, uh, maybe a couple of your officers, that I’m sure, around the department, maybe this conversation came up, where you know in some ways you sympathize with the protesters and maybe some of the officers even conflicted about having to grab some of them and pluck them out of there because I’m sure some of your officers may feel like maybe they could wish they could be out there protesting in some way. Did you find that some of your officers do have that conflict?”

Out of what body orifice did Holmes pull that nonsense? And did Holmes ever ask any police officers if they had sympathy for the Tea Party participants? My guess is that he never did.

In any case, Holmes’ positive spin on the Occupiers is a great example of how the entire Old Media establishment is glossing up the Occupy events to make them seem legitimate and elicit sympathy for them.

This isn’t quite as fun as the number of liberals who needed therapy for PEST (post election selection trauma) after Bush beat Waffles Kerry in the 2004 election, what with all the ones who couldn’t get out of bed for days, couldn’t work, and/or went to see professional mental health workers who were just as depressed as themselves, but, it is certainly amusing (via Jammie Wearing Fools)

(LA Times) Most of the roughly 300 Occupy L.A. protesters were released from jail by Friday evening, with some immediately speaking out on the police raid that cleared their camp.

One speaker suggested that some of those arrested might need therapy. Several said they felt traumatized after witnessing police use nonlethal force and being forced to wait for hours in zip-tie handcuffs. Some displayed cuts on their wrists from the handcuffs. Others complained that they were forced to urinate in bags on the bus as they were transported to jails.

These are the people that are going to change the world? They can’t even witness police arresting other filth infused squatters without becoming emotional to the point they need therapy. Jammie Wearing Fool uses a naughty word to describe them.

One speaker urged others to document any complaints. “Make note of every single violation of human rights,” she told those assembled.

For what, peeing in a bag like other criminals are forced to, instead of the usual bottles of hoity toity water they were used to?

The face of Occupy LA look traumatized (from the LA Times)
