Obama’s breach of protocol is of a piece with the substance of his foreign policy. He means to teach Americans to bow before monarchs and tyrants. He embodies the ideological multiculturalism that sets the United States on the same plane as other regimes based on tribal privilege and royal bloodlines. He gives expressive form to the idea that the United States now willingly prostrates itself before the rest of the world. He declares that the United States is a country like any other, only worse, because we have so much for which to apologize.

I suspect the poor Emperor was so shocked by the faux pas that he just pretended it didn’t happen. That is one way Japanese people deal with breaches of etiquette, especially from the powerful, who are also ignorant. But the end result is that Obama has been snubbed royally. Imperially, in fact.

All in all, a disgrace. The only redeeming feature is that at least he did not bow his head and bend his knee, as he did with the Saudi monarch.

In any case, Obama claims that his youthful encounters with Asia make him “America’s first Pacific President.” What of William Howard Taft, who served his nation from 1901 to 1903 as the first civilian Governor-General of the Philippines, with great dedication and considerable success? And what of John F. Kennedy and George H. W. Bush, who, four decades later, served their country in the Pacific Theater with great distinction. Don’t they qualify–more than Barack Obama–as “Pacific Presidents?”

But then again, none of them bowed to emperors.

Let’s hope he bends over this easily in 2012 so we can kick his sorry azz out of the WH where it never belonged in the first place. Hail the boy media king obsessed with his image and determined to destroy the country’s economy just as the media all but destroyed its culture before hand. By 2012, it’ll be well past time to take it back and we can get a good start on it in 2010. Be sure to remember that! Don’t get mad, get engaged in our political process. If O-Bow-Now can’t stand up for America, it falls to us to do it. No one else can, or will.

Seriously, I’m trying to look for other Progressive nut-baggery, there are certainly others out there besides Chucky, but, the humor writes itself, and I about died laughing when I saw this at ChristmasGhost.

More: After reading this post at Little Green Footballs 2.0 (via RS McCain) ye olde cool folks, I wondered whether Michelle Malkin would be delinked by Mad King Chucky. Now, I can’t ultimately say this occurred recently, since the Wayback Machine only goes back to February 8th, 2008, but, if you check Chucky’s blogroll today (not linking it,) yup, Michelle is missing. Hot Air is gone, as well. So is Dan Riehl. Gateway Pundit survives, for the moment, as does snapped shot. But, another shocker is the delinking of Rusty Shackleford, of The Jawa Report fame. At one point, they were pretty close, and Rusty considered Charles a blogfather. John Hawkins of Right Wing News? Gone. Iowahawk, Glenn Reynolds, Roger L. Simon, Stop The ACLU, VodkaPundit, and Weasel Zippers got the axe at some point. The common thread? All have gotten in to it at least a little with Charles. And, I suspect anyone who has anything to do with Pajamas Media got whacked, though, I am not going to crosscheck every link.

Now, there are other delinks and additions. That happens on blogrolls. I delink some that are no longer active. I also have some that I disagree with on my blogroll (though, I tend to look at my feedreaders more than blogrolls.) And, again, I can only say this happened between February 8th, 2008, and now. If anyone knows a way to look at more recent data, I’d love to know.

However, it is now evident that an ugly campaign is underway not merely to misrepresent the health insurance reform legislation, but to disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue. These tactics have included hanging in effigy one Democratic member of Congress in Maryland and protesters holding a sign displaying a tombstone with the name of another congressman in Texas, where protesters also shouted “Just say no!” drowning out those who wanted to hold a substantive discussion.

These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.

So, in their world, exercising your First Amendment Rights to protest and be heard is un-American. I wonder what they think of SEIU thugs who assault people exercising their 1st Amendment Rights? I remember when dissent was patriotic, even when those on the Left wanted the United States to lose in Iraq, simply because they hated George Bush.

Really, what else is there to say? This is what the Democrat leadership has come to. I wonder if any Democrats will revolt over this disgusting attack on the citizenry of the United States? Will any of them have the fortitude?

John Boehner (Republican) had this to say on the subject

“For months, House Democratic leaders have worked to silence any opposing views in this health care debate, both here in Washington and around the country where millions of Americans are struggling in this economy. Every poll taken in the last month shows that a majority of Americans are concerned about, if not outright opposed to, the Democrats’ plan because of the cost and consequences it would mean for their own health care. Each public forum should give every participant the opportunity to express their views, but to label Americans who are expressing vocal opposition to the Democrats’ plan “un-American” is outrageous and reprehensible.

“The American people deserve answers to basic questions about whether the Democrats’ plan will increase health care costs, add to the deficit, increase taxes on middle-class families and small businesses, put government between doctors and patients, force anyone to lose their current health coverage, kill jobs, promote taxpayer-funded abortion, or cut Medicare. The fact is Democrats have not been able to address the very real concerns the American people have.

“It’s time for Democrats to start listening. When we return to Washington in September, Democrats should scrap their costly plan and finally work on bipartisan reforms that give Americans what they are seeking: better access to affordable care.”

I was hoping he would go ballistic, but, I’m sure by the end of the day there will be a few elected Republicans who will not be as civil in couching their reply, nor should they.
