If you want a case of clear bias, the Washington D.C. affiliate of CBS will surely fill the bill for its bias against pro-life supporters. On January 23 the DC affiliate featured on its website a photo slide show of pictures taken at the March for Life rally held annually at the nation’s capitol. Curiously, though, there wasn’t a single photo of any pro-lifers. Instead the photo essay featured only photos of abortion-supporting protestors that stood on the sidelines taunting the pro-life marchers.

The photo slide show initially featured seven photos of abortion supporters such as one of marchers holding signs saying “Family Planning Saves Lives Worldwide,” one featuring women holding signs saying that abortion should be kept legal, and another showing a woman sporting an abortion on demand sticker.

Upwards to 50,000 pro-life supporters turned out in the DC cold to participate in the March for Life, yet apparently CBS could only find the small handful of pro-abortion supporters to photograph.

Pro-life advocates like Jill Stanek were incredulous and it wasn’t long before the comments section on the CBS website exploded with pro-lifers crying foul. Dozens of unhappy commenters remarked on how badly the bias of CBS galled them.

Finally a day or so later, CBS altered its slide show and added some photos of some of the actual participants of the pro-life march. The slide show now features 7 photos of pro-lifers and an equal amount of pro-abortion supporters.

Interestingly, though, there was no notice and no explanation by the CBS affiliate that it altered/added to the slide show and no explanation why the slide show had no pro-life photos for the first few days it was live on the web.

Pro-lifers can take heart that they were heard by the TV station causing it to take action to correct the sleight. But the fact that CBS put up a slide show of photos taken at a pro-life rally but didn’t feature a single photo of any pro-lifers pretty much shows the bias from which the TV station came when it initially posted the webpage.

But even with the alteration, we still see CBS’ bias. After all there were 50,0000 pro-life supporters and a paltry few hundred pro-infanticide supporters yet CBS gives them equal treatment as if they were the same.

Yep, the bias still reigns.

(Daily Caller) Embattled Attorney General Eric Holder today demanded The Daily Caller stop publishing articles about the growing calls in Congress for his resignation because of the failed Operation Fast and Furious gun-walking program.

As Holder’s aide was escorting the attorney general offstage following his remarks Tuesday afternoon at the White House, a Daily Caller reporter introduced himself and shook Holder’s hand. The reporter asked him for a response to the growing chorus of federal legislators demanding his resignation.

Holder stepped towards the exit, then turned around, stepped back toward the reporter, and sternly said, “You guys need to — you need to stop this. It’s not an organic thing that’s just happening. You guys are behind it.”

Holder then walked offstage without answering TheDC’s request for comment about calls for his resignation.

So, Holder thinks that the DC is behind so many people calling for his own resignation? Sheesh, it’s not like some 300 people, including Border Patrol agent Brian Terry were killed by the guns that the ATF, a department of Holder’s DOJ, let walk into Mexico, without alerting the government of Mexico, and without tracking the guns at all….oh, that did happen? Hmph. Strange. If Holder was a Republican, the Democrats would call for a criminal investigation and prosecution.

Currently 52 members of Congress, three presidential candidates and two sitting Governors have called for Holder’s immediate resignation. Many of those lawmakers and political figures have issued statements exclusively to The Daily Caller in which they have called for Holder to step down. This is chiefly because TheDC is the most prominent mainstream media outlet covering this burgeoning international scandal.

It’s because the DC is one of the only media outlets bothering to cover and investigate Fast and Furious/Operation Gunrunner. Most liberal media outlets will, at best, simply report the basics. But, the big boys, NY Times, Washington Post, ABC News, MSNBC, etc, do not investigate, which was the point of giving the press a specific mention in the 1st Amendment, to be able to investigate, ask questions, and publish information regarding the government without fear of reprisal.

(KMOV) A 20-year-old woman participating in the OccupySTL protest reported to police that a man sexually assaulted her while she was in her tent on November 8, three days before tents were removed by the city. A St. Louis City police officer says the mayor could have prevented it.

Brian E. King, 38, was charged with first degree sexual misconduct after police said he crawled into the victim’s tent and touched her breast. The assault happened on November 8 at the encampment that used to be set up in Kiener Plaza.

You’re probably wondering why this is news, since it occurred back on November 8th

A blogger from St. Louis posted a video of St. Louis Police Sgt. Gary Wiegert talking about how the mayor could have prevented the attack. In the video, Wieger says, “I believe if the mayor would allow the police department to do its job and take care of this problem and not allow these tents to be set up, this sexual assault wouldn’t have happened. This is what happens when politics gets involved with police work.”

The least KMOV could have done was link the blogger, Sharp Elbows, who probably drove the story

It’s been 9 days since the attack occurred and not one media outlet has reported this. Patch Adams found the crime reported on the city’s crime map days ago.

To repeat the meme, had this happened at a Tea Party or conservative rally, it would have been front page news nationally.

Occupy member John Mills says that crimes happened before the occupation, and the perpetrator in this case was not a regular participant. He does not think it should reflect on their movement.

It’s no wonder the crimes keep occurring: the occupiers keep finding ways to say “well, even though it happened within our occupy area amongst people who have been hanging with us, it’s really not us. Cover ears, sing la la la la la la la la….”

A known liberal activist that has for months been stalking several Republican lawmakers in Wisconsin, verbally abusing them, has finally crossed the line into a physical attack. So… where is the Old Media to chronicle this assault? Sadly, no where to be seen.

On Sept. 14 left-wing activist Miles Kirstan entered The Inn at 22 S. Carroll Street in Madison, Wisconsin, began to harass some GOP lawmakers patronizing the establishment, and ultimately attacked them, throwing a mug of beer on them.

The Madison Police Department confirmed to the MacIver Institute that the incident occurred and the group found that Republican State Rep. Robin Voss (Burlington) was the main target. Reps. John Nygren (Marinette) and Scott Suder (Abbotsford) were also a victim of the attack.

Kirstan is a well-known face among the extremists that have been railing against the Walker administration over the budget cuts and other legislative efforts.

He’s well enough known that some halfwitted groupies have excitedly delivered their hosannas to him online.

For instance, one young woman named Rachel gushed on tumblr: “I personally know the guy with the microphone in this picture. His name is Miles Kristan and he is a badass motherf**ker. I feel awesome just knowing him.”

If I had fans like that I’d be ashamed.

Of course, Kirstan seems to have no shame, so I doubt he’s much worried about misleading impressionable young girls. He’s been arrested several times during his several years-long campaign as an extremist and activist. Earlier this month, for instance, Kirstan was led away by police from Representative Paul Ryan’s townhall. He was also arrested in August for a driving infraction. Last year he was arrested for trying to disrupt a speech being given by JEB Bush.

Kirstan is not just a Walker-hater, though,. He is also an anti-war activist. It isn’t surprising that he’s dropped his anti-war business to become a member of the anti-walker brigade. Few anti-war activists are much interested in protesting wars during Obama’s presidency, after all. I mean, he has to have something to do while he waits for a Republican to take the White House, ya know?

This stepping up of Kirstan’s violence, though, is not surprising. It shows the increasing desperation of the left in Wisconsin. They went from thinking they had a sure-win issue to one by one losing every effort to destroy Gov. Walker and his party. To such extremists, it is only natural for physical violence to be the next steppingstone in their pathology.

Finally, one has to wonder why this didn’t become a national story? If it was a Tea Party guy throwing a mug of beer at a Democrat lawmaker — no matter when the incident might happen — the news would have this guy, his family, his co workers, his grade school friends, even faux psychologists, talking about the incident for a week solid.

Yet, this uncivil, left-wing troublemaker is ignored.

Gee. Don’t you wonder why that is?

Kerry Picket had an interesting report in the Washington Times on the 28th. Apparently President Obama’s uncle Omar, an illegal alien living in Massachusetts, was arrested for drunk driving after nearly smashing into a police car in Framingham.

Picket also reports that the 67-year-old uncle Omar tried to, or at least wanted to, call the White House to get Barack’s help with the charges after he was arrested.

Picket writes, “I spoke to Framingham Public Information Officer Lieutenant Delaney who told me that when Onyango Obama was asked at booking if he wanted to make a telephone call to arrange for bail, the Kenyan immigrant replied: ‘I think I will call the White House.’”

The president’s uncle, O. Onyango Obama, was mentioned in his book “Dreams From My Father” where Barack says that uncle Omar moved to the USA “25 years ago and never came back.” He’s been here for decades, living illegally the whole time.

It seems that uncle Omar’s time has run out, though. He’s now being held on an ICE warrant. Let’s see if he gets deported.

Now, one would think it would be big news that President Obama’s illegal alien uncle was arrested for drunk driving and is now being held for possible deportation. But few mentions of the incident have made “the news.” Worse, even many of the ones that did mention it never mention that this is President Obama’s uncle!

The original story in the MetroWest Daily News does not mention the president’s connection to uncle Omar. Even Boston-based talker Michael Graham missed that this was the prez’s uncle and so did The National Review. Besides Picket, at least Howie Carr mentions the connection, though.

I mean, imagine if President Bush had had a relative that was an illegal alien — say from Mexico, or something — that was arrested for drunk driving and nearly crashing into a police vehicle? Don’t you rather think that the Old Media would make this story numero uno for days? So, why have the big newsies ignored this story? I wish I could say.

In yet another example of collusion between “the press” and the Democrats, Bill Kelly of Chicago tried to ask a question of Democrat Senator Dick Durbin at a press availability at Chicago’s City Club and met, shall we say, some resistance? As Kelly tried to ask his question, the reporters standing next to Kelly tried to interrupt and shut Kelly down claiming he wasn’t “allowed” to ask a question because he wasn’t “with the press.”

To further prove the hard left bent of the press and to show their contempt for all of us, one of these reporters offered that Kelly was just a Tea Party organizer — “he runs Tea Party rallies,” she said. You can just hear the dripping contempt for the Tea Party that these leftists have.

Even more ridiculous, the Illinois Radio Network’s Jim Anderson himself turned to Kelly and imagined HE had the right to threaten Kelly with removal by “the cops.”

“If you’re not quiet, we’re gonna have you thrown out of the room by the cops, OK? Because you’re trespassing. You have no right to be here,” Anderson blurted out.

Who’s this “we” Anderson was talking about? And, the “right”? Kelly has no “right” to ask his elected official a question?

Who the heck gave “reporter” Jim Anderson the power to call the cops on anyone? He doesn’t run the City Club. Worse, while his own little radio network is hardly worth the effort to call “the press,” no one was trying to prevent this small-time guy from asking his questions.

I urge you to visit the badly designed webpage of Illinois Radio Network. It looks like a 15-year-old in his first year at web class designed it! And THIS guy imagines himself to possess more rights than Bill Kelly? Or you? Or me? And Anderson himself? He was a traffic reporter before he went to the Illinois Radio Network. A traffic reporter! That is hardly “journalism.”

Don’t get me wrong. I think Jim Anderson is as much a journalist as anyone else. But he has neither the “right” nor the standing to decide who is “allowed” to be a reporter than anyone else does. His status as a reporter is barely more advanced than Kelly’s, yet he imagines himself more privileged than the rest of us.

Naturally, Durbin also showed his contempt to his own constituents by refusing to answer the simple question that Kelly was asking. “What part did you play in the downgrade, Senator,” was the basic question Kelly was trying to ask. Seems a pretty good question to me!

As to Kelly’s qualifications, he does write a blog for the Washington Times’ Community section, he has various ventures and has been on the radio in a brokered program in Chicago in the past. Yes he’s been one of those that put on rallies and protests against Democrat corruption, though I don’t think he is a formal member of any of the Tea Party groups in town — still he does have support of many of their members.

Regardless, what is interesting here is how “the press” tried to decide who should be “allowed” to ask a question at a venue they do not either own or control. Who do they think they are? They think they are above you, that’s what. Mr. Jim Anderson, small-time operator that he is, imagines that he is more important than the rest of us lowly riff raff. He’s “the press” after all. He’s important. You folks ain’t nuthin,’ you know?

So, “the press” circles the wagons around Senator Dick Durbin to save him from having to answer a tough question while they lob softballs at him. And we wonder why we aren’t getting the full story, the real news from the vaunted press?

On MSNBC, John Kerry told us that Tea Party ideas are not “real” ideas, not “factual,” and thinks that the media should stop reporting on anything that smacks of ideas or news coming from Tea Partiers. If this isn’t proof of how Democrats and leftists would use the power of government to quash free political speech, what is?

Not long ago, several Democrats tried to once again raise the ugly head of the defunct Fairness Doctrine that was killed during the Reagan administration in order to limit the free political speech of conservatives. In those dark days when Nancy Pelosi was Speaker of the House of Representatives, several Republicans talked about forever outlawing the anti-free speech rule. Democrats at the time spoke up in favor of the Fairness Doctrine and countered that they wanted to bring it back.

Fortunately, the Fairness Doctrine has not come back. But this un-American policy idea has been talked about by leftists every few years since it was torpedoed by Reagan in 1987. They would love to bring it back. And despite what they claim, the left would use a new Fairness Doctrine to squelch the free political speech of those on the right.

Want proof? Then let’s look at what Democrat Senator John Kerry said on MSNBC this week.

SEN. JOHN KERRY: And I have to tell you, I say this to you politely. The media in America has a bigger responsibility than it’s exercising today. The media has got to begin to not give equal time or equal balance to an absolutely absurd notion just because somebody asserts it or simply because somebody says something which everybody knows is not factual.

It doesn’t deserve the same credit as a legitimate idea about what you do. And the problem is everything is put into this tit-for-tat equal battle and America is losing any sense of what’s real, of who’s accountable, of who is not accountable, of who’s real, who isn’t, who’s serious, who isn’t?

You see? You Tea Partiers are not “legitimate.” You are not “real,” not “serious.” Why, your ideas are so “absurd” that he thinks the Old Media should stop reporting on any politician or activist that spouts those “absurd notions.”

The media, Kerry said, “has got to begin to not give equal time or equal balance.” This means he thinks any ideas that don’t toe the far left, liberal Democrat ideological line should be excluded from reportage, eliminated from the public debate.

Now, imagine what he’d do if he had the power of a renewed Fairness Doctrine under his control? Imagine if he had the power of law behind his claims.

If John Kerry and his comrades on the far left had their way, they’d use the force of law to shut you up, Tea Partiers. The left would not use the Fairness Doctrine for anything “fair.” They’d use it as but another Alien and Sedition Act to shut down the access to the public square now enjoyed by conservative ideas.

Talk radio, cable TV, newspapers, magazines, the Internet all would be targeted for Kremlin-like control of their contents by Washington D.C. if the left had its way.

In fact, speaking of the Internet, there is a new stealth Fairness Doctrine in the works. It’s called Net Neutrality, just another way for the left to impose state control of the news.

NBC Apologizes to Congress

Not surprisingly, the management at NBC is blaming this disgraceful action on a “small group of people”, and claims the content of the production ” was not discussed with or approved by any senior NBC Universal official”.

Personally, I find that explanation rather hard to swallow.  Are we really supposed to believe that a major video production, intended to be viewed by millions of viewers on a national broadcast network, was produced, reviewed, approved, and broadcast by this “small group” of unnamed people, and that NBC executives had no knowledge of it’s content? Of course, we’ll probably never know exactly who knew what, but to me, it seems far more likely that NBC executives were well aware of the content of that segment, and were simply caught off guard by the public’s reaction to it.  They had to back pedal to save face.

There’s no mistaking the fact that the left has become incredibly arrogant over the last couple years. They seem to think that because they got their guy into the White House, they now speak for the majority in America. I suppose on some subjects, that may indeed be true. However, I don’t think God and religion is one of them.

While I don’t necessarily believe that our government, our media, or our schools should be involved in promoting specific religions, that doesn’t mean that I want the concept of God stripped completely out of our lives. I’m sure most atheists would probably disagree with me, but this really isn’t about what religion you practice or what your concept of God is. It’s about keeping human arrogance in check reinforcing the concepts that no man is above another, and that we must all answer to something bigger and more significant than ourselves.

The day the people of this world collectively believe that we’re all there is, and there is nothing beyond our own existence, we’re in deep trouble. It will be every man for himself, and nothing good can come of that …

Certainly, the elements of the hard left that would like to see all references to God and religion stripped from our society recognize that, don’t they? If they do, then I have to question their motives. If they don’t, then I have to question their intelligence. Either way, it’s hard for me to avoid the conclusion that they pose a serious threat to the stability of our society, and their attempts to strip God and religion from our lives should be passionately resisted.

Apparently, a lot of people agree with me, for one reason or another, and I’m glad NBC got the message. We’ll see how long it takes them to try something like this again.

I’m sure it won’t be long ….

Since the early days of Barack Obama’s run for the presidency, you know, right after he became Senator Obama in 2006, he’s been slighting the media in ways small and large. And since 2006 the media has been complaining about his sleights. Even this week the Old Media has been found whining about getting the back of Obama’s hand. And yet, that same media, treated like an abused wife, comes back for more with love in their eyes.

Obama has ignored reporters, he’s refused to engage in friendly patter, he’s remained aloof and distant, he’s banned some, had folks in his administration ban others, he’s blocked them, he’s excluded them in favor of his own “reporters,” he’s smart-mouthed them and given them short shrift, and he’s done his level best to so control the message that the press corps ends up having less access than they have had with other presidents.

And yet, the media is so pliant and subservient to The One and family that even wife Michelle recently thanked the in-the-tank media for its constant “helping” of the Obamas.

Still, the media has complained of the treatment they’ve received at Obama’s hands. This week we see the carping emanating from Politico’s On the Media blog. As it happens, Obama stiffed the White House Press Corps once again as far as many reporters are concerned.

The journalists were annoyed that Obama gave a speech in the East Room but treated it under the accepted rules as if it were a speech emanating from the Oval Office. The reason this is a big deal is because the speeches made in the Oval Office are limited press access.

Consequently, Obama limited the press access to this particular speech and excluded many of the journalists from the full press pool for the speech. As the AP complained, “Some reporters complained that this amounted to less access and that there was little chance of distraction in the East Room, the largest room in the building. The White House refused to change the ground rules.”

So, once again we see Obama trying to limit press access as much as possible to the consternation of the press. As I said, though, this has not been the only time the press has whined about access to Obama or how he treated them.

• In Sept. of 2008, Time Magazine felt that Obama’s aloofness might not make him such a good leader (seems they were right, too).
• In August of 2008 Obama’s campaign tried to shut down a Chicago WGN radio show.
• In October of 2008, the LA Times worried that Obama was so aloof from the press during the campaign that journalists never got to know the candidate.
• By December of 2008, Obama had been so distant from the press that CNN began complaining that “we barely know” Obama.
• In Jan. 2009 the Chicago Sun-Times was shut out by President Obama.
• Also in January of 2009 the Associated Press was complaining that Obama ruled the media with an iron fist.
• In May of 2009, ABCs Jake Tapper reported that Obama shut out the press and used his own “reporters” at one time.
• Obama also slighted members of the press during his 2009 Christmas party.
• In May of 2010, the press had become annoyed that Obama was avoiding the press and not having a “real press conference” in months.
• In March of 2011, VP Biden’s staff, taking a cue from their bosses boss, locked a journalist in a closet to keep him from reporting on the doings at a dinner party.

There have been others, of course, but this will suffice to show a pattern.

Yet despite all this mistreatment, the folks in the Old Media wag their tail whenever Obama’s calls for them. Now, imagine how perpetually agitated they’d be if Obama were a Republican president treating them as Obama has? They’d be slipping in barbs and attacks in every story, of course. It would be a never ending tale of woe. Worse, the press would be extrapolating about how bad a president it would be, how un-American, how hateful of transparency and openness that such a president would be. And yet, they constantly give Obama a pass with but a little whining.

Ah, but we don’t want to ruin the slavish devotion the press has for their Obammessiah, do we?

When Barack Obama threw millions of our tax dollars at General Motors to “save it,” the administration claimed that it would not involve itself in the “day-to-day management” of the venerable car company. New emails obtained by The Daily Caller, however, casts doubt on this claim.

In fact, as Matthew Boyle reports, the emails “reveal that Treasury officials were involved in decision-making that led to more than 20,000 non-union workers losing their pensions.”

It turns out that Treasurer Secretary Timothy Geithner pressured GM, widely derided as Government Motors, to cut the pensions for the salaried, non-union employees at Delphi, a company owned by GM.

You read that right. Obama and his cabinet members are responsible for stealing away the retirement benefits of employees.

Now, just think of this for a second. Isn’t it the Democrats led by Obama that claim they are the champions of the workingman? Aren’t they constantly claiming that they want to help workers get good benefits, good salaries, and good pensions?

Yet, here we have Obama and his minions slashing people’s earned benefits? Here we have Obama eliminating people’s retirement funds? What happened to all that “we care about the workers” business?

Ah, but we see… the workers in question weren’t union workers. So, in truth Democrats don’t care about workers. They only care about unions.
