An inscription on a WWII monument in Kohima, India fittingly describes the sacrifices that our soldiers make with their service to our nation. And on this Veterans Day it is also fitting to focus on it. The Inscription says:
“When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say, For Their Tomorrow, We [...]

The 20th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall has become a rather big deal over the last few days, with lots of people chiming in in the media. They all seem to be forgetting one thing: it would not have happened, at least certainly not that early, if it wasn’t for Reagan’s brilliant [...]

Yes, it is that time of the year
With increasing threats, lawsuits and exposure over what constitutes a ‘legal Christmas season’ in this country, it is astounding albeit wonderful, that the current White House administration, President and Congress have not decided to remove the word Christmas or Christ from the upcoming tree lighting ceremony in Washington [...]

Sigh
Trick-or-treaters should probably keep their hands out of the candy bowl this weekend because of the ongoing swine flu pandemic.
It’s just one way that experts suggest will keep children from getting swine flu on Halloween. Health officials hope parents will distribute candy instead of allowing children to grab their treats out of candy bowls.
Double sigh.
Meanwhile, [...]

The Sam Adams Alliance, a conservative, free market think tank out of Chicago (right in the belly of the liberal beast) has launched a new site today called “I Believe in the Constitution” as a great way to celebrate Constitution day.
So, if YOU believe in the greatest governing document ever conceived by [...]

So when you think Independence Day fireworks audio productions do you think of John Mellencamp, Kid Rock, and Neil Diamond as the musical accompaniment? Apparently the City of Chicago did. Either that, or the City of Chicago didn’t care enough about the patriotism inherent in an Independence Day fireworks show to make [...]

More: Via Dr. Melissa Couthier’s Twitter, Don Surber catches how the ACLU celebrates Flag Day

It’s “A Gathering of the Greatest Generation” — though this year only a small group of that era’s aging heroes will commemorate the invasion of France at Normandy 65 years ago.
On Saturday afternoon, veterans will attend a National World War II Museum ceremony in New Orleans recognizing soldiers, sailors and airmen who made that invasion [...]

It was June 6, 1944 that the crucial Normandy Landings occurred that formed the spearhead of the Allied invasion of Nazi held Europe. D-Day ultimately led to the victory of the Allies over the despotic Nazi regime. Now here we are on June 6, 2009 and, in its inimitable way, Google [...]

Unbelieveable, if true. Well, not really unbelieveable, it is Barack Obama sitting in the White House, after all
In a new overture to Iran, the Obama administration has authorized U.S. embassies around the world to invite Iranian officials to Independence Day parties they host on or around July 4th.
