President Barack Obama’s pollster said the healthcare bill will win over public support once it becomes law despite polls showing Americans against the plan.

The argument by Joel Benenson, Obama’s lead pollster, rests on a chunk of Americans who now oppose the bill supporting it after it’s passed. Benenson said that group — which is anywhere from a tenth to a third of Americans, according surveys by CNN and Ipsos — is skeptical of the bill because it doesn’t go far enough.

Uh huh

• “Here, drink this whole bottle of Jagermeister, you’ll love it once you’re done.”
• “Stick your tongue to the metal poll, you’ll love it.”
• “Elect Stalin/Hitler/Kim Jong Il! You’ll never look back!
• “I have syphilis. Let’s have sex.”
• “Eat the cat poop sandwich. You’ll thank me for it”

OK, the last one was extremely gross, but, that is where 44% of the people are, with 48% against eating poop.

Doug Ross: What’s their endgame? Even a simpleton or a Democrat (but I repeat myself), would admit that it has nothing to do with health care. It’s a political calculation: Democrats are willing to lose Congress in November if they can create a brand new unfunded entitlement that will cement the power of government over the citizen.

Another Black Conservative: I have to hand it to this administration though; they can say the craziest things with such a straight face. After they are shown the door in 2012, they should all look into theatrical jobs. Provided there are still some theatrical jobs left by then, if not, Obama can just create or save a few.

Thanks to CribNoteGate, we can finally say it out loud: Sarah Palin is stupid. But where does that leave Barack Obama?

Even stupider.

Let’s set aside the fiction that public officials care about the country.

Let’s accept an assumption that everyone else can get behind: Politicians are skilled at looking out for themselves.

By this low standard, Obama is dumber than dumb. We’re not talking Dubya dumb. We’re not even talking Sarahcuda dumb.

We’re talking pulling-off-your-mask-so-the-clerk-of-the-bank-you’re-robbing-can-hear-you dumb.

And it keeps going on and on and on. A delicious read from one of the crazier of the crazies, which includes phrases like “too dim to understand,” “Moron-In-Chief,” “Obama doesn’t have a clue.”

A year ago, I inspired the nation to have the audacity to hope that I would change the political culture in Washington. Now, a year later, it turns out I’m another hack politician—from Chicago, where, believe you me, we know a thing or two about hack politics.

I was going to set a new standard. Now I’m just a complicit bystander as Harry bribes, among others, a senator from Nebraska who wants his state to get a free pass on Medicare—in return for his vote on a health-care reform bill that would make the Founders weep, or throw up. Or both.

What a difference a year makes. But I’m pleased to report that before I came up here tonight, I was able to sign a contract with my publisher for a new book. I’m going to call it The Audacity of Oops.

And then there is Nate Silver, far end progressive at Five Thirty Eight, who states that the White House’s brain has frozen with this silly discretionary spending freeze Obama announced.

Paul Krugman writes that Obama has liquidated himself and the spending freeze is “appalling on every level.”

At Open Left, Paul Rosenburg says It’s Official: Obama’s An Idiot, and quite a few commenters agree.

And, perhaps in the unkindest cut of all,

Indonesian authorities said Monday they are considering a petition to tear down a statue of US President Barack Obama as a boy, only a month after the bronze was unveiled in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, there is a joke in this that I am not touching

President Barack Obama on Wednesday will be the first president to deliver the State of the Union address on a handicap-accessible Speaker’s rostrum.

Unsurprisingly, it took Congress 5 extra months beyond schedule to get the lift to work. And, oh, that news channel Obama and Company demonized? Yeah, most trusted, as well as lowest level of mistrust among all news stations.

We don’t have much time, so I will get right to the point.

In the midst of enjoying Christmas with my family, we were quickly reminded that there is still a war against the American way of life; on Christmas morning, it came right here to Detroit.

We know the story. A cowardly terrorist was allowed to board a flight bound for our state, and armed with explosives, attempted to murder countless passengers and potential victims on the ground.

Unnamed heroes aboard the plane likely averted disaster.

Shockingly, yesterday morning, Barack Obama’s Homeland Security Secretary went on TV and said “the system worked”!

They just don’t get it. The system didn’t “work” here. Far from it! It is insulting that The Obama administration would make such a claim, but then again, these are the same weak-kneed liberals who have recently tried to bring Guantanamo Bay terrorists right here to Michigan!

My promise to you, as your governor, my first duty and most solemn responsibility is to keep Michigan safe!

For almost a decade I have been a leader on National Security and at the forefront of the war on terror. I understand the real and continuing threat radical jihadists pose to our great state of Michigan and our great Nation.

I have pledged that I will do “everything possible” to prevent these terrorists from coming to Michigan.

But I need your help.

Using Palin’s book release to slam her, a private citizen (and they have done it with other private citizens,) to raise money? How about all those emails blaming Bush, even though he wasn’t running?

Of course, perhaps the Demolillies should consider that terrorists and terrorist groups have been fund-raising for them for some time, now. Not to mention Obama’s long associations with unrepentant domestic terrorists.

Imagine this. At a time of political turmoil, a charismatic, telegenic new leader arrives virtually out of nowhere. He offers a message of hope and reconciliation based on compromise and promises to marshal technology for a better future that will include universal health care.

Actually, the up front leader is a she. And, she does make all those sorts of “we’re the space aliens, and we are here to help.” Of course, in the opening 5 minutes, a large Jesus on the Cross falls and nearly crushes a man in a wheel chair. And, in the first 15, two priests have thoughts of doubt about God, because the aliens came. The first 30 seemed more about hopenchange then the original hopenchange

The news media swoons in admiration — one simpering anchorman even shouts at a reporter who asks a tough question: “Why don’t you show some respect?!” The public is likewise smitten, except for a few nut cases who circulate batty rumors on the Internet about the leader’s origins and intentions. The leader, undismayed, offers assurances that are soothing, if also just a tiny bit condescending: “Embracing change is never easy.”

The leader offers an up and coming reporter a once in a lifetime interview. Right before it is about to start, he says he has to ask some tough questions. She says he has to show the V in a good light. He says that’s not the way it works. She says the interview is over. Then she tells him this could make his career, and that he really wants to cooperate. Unsurprisingly, he does. And, during said interview, the leader states that she wants health care for all. I actually groaned out-loud when the reporter says “you mean like universal health care?” Then I remembered something important from the original series

So, does that sound like anyone you know? Oh, wait — did I mention the leader is secretly a totalitarian space lizard who’s come here to eat us?

See, now that is the part that liberals will not like. I’d suspect that liberals are sending plenty of unhinged emails, and placing many unhinged, frothing, foaming phone calls, to ABC.

While those few nut cases are circulating rumors and banding together to fight back, the V actually attack them.

Of course, I am wondering what kind of trickery the producers, director, and writers will stick in to change the dynamics so it becomes Liberal Friendly, much as the big shots destroyed Battlestar Galactica.

To be honest, I wish they could have left the politics out of it. Ruins the atmosphere. Hopefully, they will change it up just a bit, drop the politics.

In the schoolyard of American politics, President Obama is the big, smart kid with all of the test answers who’s being bullied by a bunch of Neanderthal ankle-biters from all sides.

Meanwhile, all the teachers are wondering, “Why does he take this crap? He’s bigger and smarter than all the other kids.”

It’s no surprise the Glenn Becks of the world have been attacking Obama since the moment he stepped into the Oval Office. Beck and his blathering buddies on the right — you know, the stinky kids in the coatroom who eat their own boogers. Always pick on the kids least likely to fight back.

Isn’t that special? Doesn’t that make you want to patronize CNN, on the web and on your TV, even more? It gets worse

That being said — we did elect President Obama to change things, and so far the only thing he seems to be changing are his faux-patriotic lapel pins … and his mind.

With the public option in the public toilet, not asking or telling about “don’t ask, don’t tell,” the Gitmo Hilton still entertaining guests, and same-sex marriage so far off Obama’s radar that it’s now on his sonar, seeds of doubt have been planted in the left’s collective mind.

If this guy can’t get his own party to step in line on health care reform, they wonder, then how the hell will he get other countries to do what he wants them to do? Although in some ways, that might be easier then dealing with these Blue Dogs who hump your leg … and not in a good way.

She just can’t back off being a snot to Fox News and Conservative radio……wait, what? She is making all sorts of friends, eh?

Admittedly, I might be overreacting just a bit. (WT-Gee, you think?) The majority of the country is behind Obama. The situation just seems worse than it is because we’re not used to this new era, in which you can actually criticize the president without being shouted down as an unpatriotic, Socialist, traitorous, granny-killing, freedom hater. After eight years of a presidency shrouded in darkness, we’re not used to seeing the president’s supporters, of all people, shining a light on his shortcomings.

Actually, the majority have the same feelings about his plans that they have about fresh boogers, Joy. And his approval ratings are dropping. And dropping. And dropping. So, to end this

It’s not time to panic, but President Obama needs to size up one of these twerps, cock back his arm, and take a swing soon, because the Democratic majorities in Congress won’t last forever.

Oh, good, now she suggests violence. Whatever happened to the peaceful, thoughtful, we are so smart, tolerant Progressives? You know, the traits they keep telling us they have?

The U.S. military is not just fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, America’s most renowned investigative journalist says.

The army is also “in a war against the White House — and they feel they have [President] Obama boxed in,” Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Seymour Hersh told several hundred people in Duke University’s Page Auditorium on Tuesday night. “They think he’s weak and the wrong color. Yes, there’s racism in the Pentagon. We may not like to think that, but it’s true and we all know it.”

In a speech on Obama’s foreign policy, Hersh, who uncovered the My Lai massacre during the Vietnam War and torture at Abu Ghraib prison during the Iraqi war, said many military leaders want Obama to fail.

“A lot of people in the Pentagon would like to see him get into trouble,” he said. By leaking information that the commanding officer in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, says the war would be lost without an additional 40,000 American troops, top brass have put Obama in a no-win situation, Hersh contended.

“If he gives them the extra troops they’re asking for, he loses politically,” Hersh said. “And if he doesn’t give them the troops, he also loses politically.”

Got that? The military is waging war on Barry. Intentionally. However, I would think, based on Obama’s numerous campaign talking points about increasing troop strength by several brigades would be a win, politically. But, it is a shame that the Left has to think about war in terms of what is politically best, rather than what is best to win. Of course, politics is life for the Left.

• I’ve never been very comfortable with Gates in Obama’s administration. He doesn’t do anything really crazy to to get attention (and I sleep better knowing that Mr. Ding “Don” Rumsfield is out of the picture)…but, any Bush holdover, especially in Defense, is dangerous. I hope Hersch is over-reacting, but if he isn’t, I hope Obama’s got a plan to deal with all of these guys, at once. (don’t worry, I’m sure Obama has plenty of plans to deal with American’s who disagree with him. None to deal with threats to America, though)
• The Pentagon is hopelessly infested with neocons and Christian fanatics……who believe they’re in a “crusade” against Islam. (translation: too many Joooooooo lovers and non-Muslim religious folks)
• I agree. They are dangerous fanatics. (but, Islamic terrorists are “freedom fighters“)
• This is much of the problem. They can’t think outside the ‘end times’ box. (I guess they are all “fundies,” as well)
• Here we see the real enemy of our nation – once again the enemy within - the military industrial organization – the military and the corporations. POWER. (got that? The military, established by the Constitution, is the enemy)
• I’d start by reassigning McChrystal. That was a punk move by him. Obama needs to let those boys know that he’s in charge. (I thought Rahm Emanual and David Axelrod were in charge)

There are people in the military status quo who will go along with any harebrained GOP scheme yet fight tooth and nail against anything that a Dem president wants. That’s just how it is. (huh? Now they are blaming the military for Clinton not accepting Osama on a platter three times?)

Greengestalt: How ’bout using force?…… And I’d just PURGE the NeoCON and “Dominionist” plants overnight. All of them, dishonorably discharged, no leave, no pay, no medical, no disability. I’d have the media, on threat of “Abuse of the Patriot act” quickly throw together made for TV movies that show them as child raping, “Non-Christian troop” fragging, psychopathic Nazis and take a few (quite a few, actually) examples of them harassing and threatening other troops and make sure those are played to ‘balance’ if they ever manage to get on the news about that. That way they’d be a huge burden on the “Religious Right”, while the rest of the real army could be repaired and mobilized for peaceful (non-armed) civilian public works projects.

I’d want to cut defense spending by 2/3, with 1/3 going to paying the debt, 1/3 to infrastructure. Laid off troops would become public servants in the new mass-transit systems. Due to all the enemies America has earned we’d need a small but still top trained army and a small nuclear ‘deterrent’, and sadly that would be the remaining 1/3. Basically, enough to defend the homeland, launch a limited “Precision Strike” if we decide to and the “MAD” option but in a smaller state.

But don’t say that the Left hates the military.

Joe Biden met with CENTCOM chief Gen. David Petraeus this morning to talk about Afghanistan — an issue that has pushed the vice president into the spotlight, landing him on the cover of the latest Newsweek.

I have an idea for how he can capitalize on all the attention, and do what generations to come will always be grateful for: resign.

Now, why would he do that, Arianna?

The centerpiece of Newsweek’s storyis how Biden has become the chief White House skeptic on escalating the war in Afghanistan, specifically arguing against Gen. McChrystal’s request for 40,000 more troops to pursue a counterinsurgency strategy there. (snip)

It’s been known for a while that Biden has been on the other side of McChrystal’s desire for a big escalation of our forces there — the New York Times reportedlast month that he has “deep reservations” about it. So if the president does decide to escalate, Biden, for the good of the country, should escalate his willingness to act on those reservations.

What he must not do is follow the same weak and worn-out pattern of “opposition” we’ve become all-too-accustomed to, first with Vietnam and then with Iraq. You know the drill: after the dust settles, and the country begins to look back and not-so-charitably wonder, “what were they thinking?” the mea-culpa-laden books start to come out. On page after regret-filled page, we suddenly hear how forceful this or that official was behind closed doors, arguing against the war, taking a principled stand, expressing “strong concern” and, yes, “deep reservations” to the president, and then going home each night distraught at the unnecessary loss of life.

Well, how about making the mea culpa unnecessary? Instead of saving it for the book, how about future author Biden unfetter his conscience in real time — when it can actually do some good? If Biden truly believes that what we’re doing in Afghanistan is not in the best interests of our national security — and what issue is more important than that? — it’s simply not enough to claim retroactive righteousness in his memoirs.

So, basically, it boils down to “he has a different opinion, and he might make Obama look bad.” Even though the sole purpose in picking Biden was to prop up Obama’s non-existent foreign policy credentials. Oh, and let’s not forget that lovely talking point Liberals liked to throw around when some low ranking trooper did something bad (or called bad, anyhow, without proof) in Iraq: The Buck Stops Here. Obama is president, at least by law.

Don’t worry, Arianna, Obama has more than enough on his plate that is making him look bad. Putting the troops in Afghanistan that General McCrystal is requesting is Obama’s decision. Might it not be a good thing that he receive advice from people around him?

Just remember this one, folks, the next time a Democrat does some actual wrong. The bar has now been set really, really low. And, yeah, she didn’t really make a case at all, except that “he might make Obama look weak and ineffective.”

The Trentonian newspaper of Trenton, New Jersey had a report on October 12 informing the community that a protest was to be held against the New Jersey school that taught its children to sing an Obama propaganda song that made national news last month. Interestingly, the headline says it all:

Obama haters to protest outside Burlco elementary today

Apparently,The Trentonian doesn’t imagine that there is any other reason for people to protest a school that brainwashes little children to love dear leader. No one, the paper must think, is mad at the school for its untoward activities. It has to be “hatred” of Barack Obama obviously.

One has to wonder if The Trentonian newspaper ever reported an anti-war rally as if it were “Bush haters to protest”? Did it ever report an anti-WTO protest as “Capitalist haters protest”? I’d bet it never did. I’d bet The Trentonian never scoffed so at the motives of left-wing protesters.
