Today’s Illegal Alien Sob Story

Angela Guerrero knew she might be overwhelmed for a few weeks, possibly a month, juggling work, child care and the daily grind of family life when her husband set out for the U.S. consulate offices in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
She never expected to be in the predicament she is in — her husband of five years banned from this country for at least a decade, her family torn between two countries and a tangle of immigration issues to unsnarl.
Ricardo Guerrero, an illegal immigrant, had tired of looking over his shoulder, constantly wondering whether deportation was just a misstep away.
So one February day, Guerrero kissed his family goodbye in Durham. Eager to stop living on the fringes of the law, as many illegal immigrants do, he flew to his native Mexico with papers a Wake County notary public had helped him prepare and a two-page letter from his American-born wife.
His optimistic plan was to return with a green card, the official document that would give him better access to the jobs and education he dreamed of when he came to this country nine years ago in search of a better life.
But those hopes were dashed by what immigration lawyers say is a sweeping problem — notaries who are unauthorized and unlicensed to practice law overstepping their bounds and giving bad advice about immigration laws and procedures.
Got that? It is not Guerrero’s fault for coming to the US illegally, for sticking around and starting a family, then getting caught in Mexico. No, it is the fault of the notaries.
You know, I am not completely unsympathetic to the plight of these illegals with families, not that many of them come to the USA looking for work and a better life. But, stories like this one does not endear the illegals to the American population. Matter of fact, stories like this one probably have the opposite effect, where the reader goes “ta hell with them, they should have come here legally.” Maybe if the sob stories were put aside, if the illegals learned English and tried to fit into the American culture, rather then remaining separate, this backlash might not have occurred.

I’m sorry you pushed the “Palin is a racist” story down for this.
I am in favor of stopping illegal immigration, but highlighting a guy that wanted to make things right and got ripped off is not a way of gaining sympathy for the cause.
I had it set as an autopost, though I thought I had set the time to 330pm.
They won’t even obey the laws, ie; illegally entering the country. They want the benefits.
The problem is he should have done the right thing in the first place. I have no sympathy for him. He broke our laws. I feel for these people to. But how many good people who can contribute to America are turned down every year because of all the illegals that are here. You know the ones who did not care about our laws and just decided to come anyways. And then break other laws to stay here. Like committing identity fraud.
I am all for people comming to American. As long as they come here legally And at lest try to learn the language. Try to assimilate into our society. Is that to much to ask? I think not.

I have to confess, that these days I get a laugh when I read about all the open borders groups still clamoring for amnesty while our economy and financial systems are collapsing around us into a black hole of greed. On one side we got the crooks and politicians bleeding us dry of the last vestiges of our wealth and on the other side are the loonies screaming for a back door to citizenship with all the freebies that go along with it. Even though Americans everywhere are in the process of losing their jobs, retirement benefits, homes and lives, here are the illegals still demanding all the benefits of the American dream. Well, they are a day late and a dollar short because the American dream is not there anymore. It died sometime back when the 38 millionth illegal came across our borders unopposed.
Our politicians are in the process of sliding a knife in Lady Liberty’s back while we try to cling to the last few shreds of freedom that is left. While our politicians stay busy with the looting, our judicial system is shredding the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Our 1st and 2nd Amendment rights are being legislated out of existence and the 14th has been turned upside down. Liberal judges assume that they have the power to legislate from the bench and law enforcement agencies everywhere select which laws to enforce.
An American these days cannot even go out into the street and shout the truth without the fear of being arrested. When we speak the truth they call us names and use their power as granted under the US Constitution, but usurped by them, to shut us up. And if that doesn’t work the liberal media will jump in to tell us how hard of a life that illegals have to make us feel sorry.
Our democratic government is metamorphosing into a system of slaves and royalty. Our politicians, once elected have lifetime tenure to wreak havoc on the lives of American citizens. We no longer have the right to demand that our politicians listen to us because they have decided that they will do what they assume is best for us, without our input, but with the input from the special interest groups. Appeasing the needs of the special interests is the goal and American citizens are left to fend for themselves in a country that is not America anymore. Even though the US Constitution says that this is our country, a coup has taken place, without our permission. Constitutional America has died and a dictatorship has taken it’s place.
Our politicians have decided that their needs outweigh the needs of the people as stipulated under the articles of the Constitution and taken power unto themselves to dictate the future of America. We no longer live in a free land, a land where liberty and justice reign supreme, but a land where criminality and greed become commonplace and the voices of millions of Americans are silenced for the greater good.
But they are blind, they cannot see what is plainly before their eyes. They cannot see the forest for the trees because their actions have brought us a lot closer to the abyss than anyone can realize. America is on the verge of a collapse and the only thing these idiots can scream is more, more more!
America is in greater danger than ever before and the only thing they are worried about is their greedy selves. Instead of giving, they only want to take, and there is not much left to be taken. America is on the edge of a precipice, in danger of collapsing, and they have the nerve to demand of us what we cannot give anymore. Because we do not have it to give, because our politicians have bled us almost dry.
There is a break point coming soon, the cup is almost full. America is the Rome of 1500 years ago and our politicians and special interest groups have replaced the Huns. They will bleed the last little bit that they can get and then America will die. American citizens will have less rights then most third world countries, our president will be king and our politicians will be our princes and princesses.
This is the America as envisioned by our politicians. They will never have to worry about re-election time because everything is rigged in their favor. Nobody should even run against them because all the odds and money are in their favor. The US Constitution is only a document in our history and they have replaced it with politically correct [edited] that will guarantee that America will not survive. Because of the greed that we permitted the few, America as we know it is going to die. Because of the greed and the misguided aims of the few, America is going to cease to be, that bright shining light of justice in the world. Because America refused to lead the world in freedom and liberty. Instead our politicians chose the greed of the few over the Constitution and the wants and needs of millions of Americans.
To hell with Americans, what the special interests and illegals want, our politicians will provide. The needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many in their world. We must subjugate ourselves beneath the knees of our betters. We the People must bend our knees to our royalty because they have upended the Constitution and their power is all that matters.
They live in a dream world that they created themselves. But I have faith in the American people. Our politicians have forgotten the American people, the people that the Constitution was written and envisioned for. Someday soon, our anger is going to over ride their power and they are going to wish
that they had never incurred it. They are going to wish that they had followed the articles as specified under our Constitution because, someday soon the anger of the American people is going to over ride their greed and power.
Like I said, I have faith in the American people. I no longer have faith in our politicians because their greed has overridden anything else. Someday soon a lot of our politicians are going to regret what they have done to us, they are going to spend the rest of their days in prisons for crimes they committed against the American people. Someday soon, Americans are going to get off their a**es and put things right once again. Someday soon America will be the bright shining light that it was for two centuries instead of a corrupted version where only the politically correct need apply and everybody else is swept aside for the greater good.
Boo Hoo. Sorry don’t feel sorry for this family. They did things backwards…..come illegally then go back and try to do it the right way. Too bad, so sad. He lived in violation of our laws for 5 years. Again, here is another illegal trying to place the blame on someone else instead of looking at their own behavior. He got what he deserved.
No sympathy here for this illegal alien and his family. We have rules for immigration and they chose to ignore them. They cannot decide when it is time to apply for citizenship if they made a decision to illegally enter my country in the first place. Time to deport his family so that they can enjoy living in Mexico.
