Obama won’t take away your guns…unless he has the votes in Congress

WSJ’s Washington Wire: Obama: ‘I’m Not Going to Take Your Guns Away’
“Even if I want to take them away, I don’t have the votes in Congress,’’ [Obama] said. “This can’t be the reason not to vote for me. Can everyone hear me in the back? I see a couple of sportsmen back there. I’m not going to take away your guns.’’
Uh-huh. The man has no core. When the man doesn’t have a scrolling-screen script, he reveals this truth nearly every time.
“This can’t be the reason not to vote for me.”??? Again, it sounds like either an order or a the tantrum of a red-faced, foot-stamping child not wanting to accept reality. Either way, it’s unbecoming a candidate for president.
Since Obama has been sipping expensive wine at cocktail parties for so many years and has never really rubbed elbows much with us “bitter” people, let me let him in on something. The Second Amendment wasn’t ratifed to protect “sportsmen.” I have never been hunting and I’m not sure I ever will go hunting. I just love guns and have a right to own them for whatever reason I would like to own them — whether it for self-defense, hobby or going to the range on the weekend. The Second Amendment is about the right of EVERY citizen, whatever his or her reason, to keep and bear arms…not just “sportsmen.”

I think this is Obama’s favorite Johnny Cash song….
A young cowboy named Billy Joe grew restless on the farm
A boy filled with wanderlust who really meant no harm
He changed his clothes and shined his boots
And combed his dark hair down
And his mother cried as he walked out
[Chorus]
Don’t take your guns to town son
Leave your guns at home Bill
Don’t take your guns to town
He laughed and kissed his mom
And said your Billy Joe’s a man
I can shoot as quick and straight as anybody can
But I wouldn’t shoot without a cause
I’d gun nobody down
But she cried again as he rode away
[Chorus]
Don’t take your guns to town son
Leave your guns at home Bill
Don’t take your guns to town
He sang a song as on he rode
His guns hung at his hips
He rode into a cattle town
A smile upon his lips
He stopped and walked into a bar
And laid his money down
But his mother’s words echoed again
[Chorus]
Don’t take your guns to town son
Leave your guns at home Bill
Don’t take your guns to town
He drank his first strong liquor then to calm his shaking hand
And tried to tell himself he had become a man
A dusty cowpoke at his side began to laugh him down
And he heard again his mothers words
[Chorus]
Don’t take your guns to town son
Leave your guns at home Bill
Don’t take your guns to town
Filled with rage then
Billy Joe reached for his gun to draw
But the stranger drew his gun and fired
Before he even saw
As Billy Joe fell to the floor
The crowd all gathered ’round
And wondered at his final words
[Chorus]
Don’t take your guns to town son
Leave your guns at home Bill
Don’t take your guns to town
“This can’t be the reason not to vote for me.”
Well, not to me, but don’t worry, Senator Obama. I have plenty of reasons not to vote for you.
