Stooping to Lowest Level: Democratic Claim of Palin’s ‘Faked Pregnancy’ Gaining Steam

“Of course I had to check out the “Hottest Governor in the US” and quickly turned to see her pregnant (she has since had her baby) with bags and daughter in tote.”

**Update: TV’s Alan Colmes Says Palin’s Neglect Caused Down Syndrome Birth Stress!!**

As I reported earlier, the scurrilous claim that McCain vice presidential pick Governor Sarah Palin faked her pregnancy with a Down’s Syndrome child is beginning to spread among the lowest of the nutrooters. Now, the unhinged, smear site DemocraticUnderground.com has boosted this lie to their front pages. Naturally, since these hate sites feed into each other, the spurious source of the DU story is another DailyKos story like the one I earlier reported upon.

Of course, this whole meme is nothing but a lie. Are we expected to believe an entire state, its hospitals, doctors and media establishment helped cover up this pregnancy story? And they all did this for a Republican, to boot? It makes little logical sense to believe a word of this black helicopter conspiracy theory. Next thing we know, the Kossacks and DUers are going to expect us to believe that Big Foot and some gray aliens were the attendants at the birth!

But, here is the thing. This hateful story about the birth of a child with Down’s Syndrome is exactly the sort of lowest, gutter ideas that float through the empty space in the voluminous heads of our friends at the lowest depths of the Democratic Party and the lefty movement. There are some sick, sick people over there and stories like this prove it.

Pile this on top of the low blow from TV’s Alan Colmes who claims that Palin didn’t practice proper prenatal care before she had the baby with Down’s Syndrome, blaming the Mother for her disabled child. Well, the lefties don’t know a low road they won’t take. (Colmes’ site has crashed right now, but this is the address if it ever comes back: http://www.alan.com/2008/08/30/did-palin-take-proper-pre-natal-care/)

Now, let’s take a looks at some of the replies on the DU garbage thread:

WARNING — As is common on leftist sites, some of the language that follows is profane. (Not to mention filled with bad spelling and grammar)

bobd0: It’s not an “accusation” and it isn’t “awful” Teenagers get pregnant. It isn’t awful. It just happens. It happens all the time. I’m not making accusations. I’m just looking at all the angles. You know, like those Republicans do. Look at that “breakaway” sect of Mormons in Texas. Who would have thought that sort of thing was going on in their backyard? And we’re talking Alaska here. Those long winters must get very boring. And Sarah is all for drilling in Alaska

DaLittle Kitty: That IS a little bastard christian grandchild… WITHOUT QUESTION! IGHT! It’s Da LYING STUPID! Da LYING!!! AllCFhristianed Out +LY’N DER A** OFF! Why Was this same standard of which you speak NOT in play re: JOHN EDWARDS? The bulshite is unbelievable!!!!

Demeter: It Doesn’t Have to Be an Issue–Just a Rumor or Legend on the Internet. Like Obama is a Muslim==tit for tat.

enough already: Screw ‘em all! It’s time we started fighting back. We always show up at gun fights with knives. Knock Palin’s teeth out on this one. No backing down, no mercy.

marylanddem: I think this IS a an important issue. And commend Daily Kos for focusing on it. F**k Sarah Palin if she’s the lying hypocrite she appears to be, the sooner this s**t hits the fan the better.

progressivebydesign: How can she be the arbiter of all things HOLY and PURE if her daughter gets knocked up?? How would that play in Palin’s little circle of believers? Guess that shoots her ‘abstinence only’ stance, doesn’t it?

scarface2004: f**k that right wing piece of s**t..if it belonged to her daughter and she covered it up to avoid embarrasment then f**k that piece of s**t! republicans have asked for this…and now they are gonna get it. this is DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND [edited], not mr rogers neighborhood!! its time to f**k them over with every rumor speculation bald faced lie whatever. reap what you sow a**holes!!

Well, there’s more, of course, many more that are even more profane. Granted there are a few somewhat saner souls saying that they should leave this horrible story alone. But they are being widely abused and ignored.

This is the sort of hate that has developed into a pathology for the far left, folks. As distasteful as it is, we need to be aware of how low they will go.

**Update #3- Michael Moore and Media Take Notice**

The “faked pregnancy” charge is spreading. Perhaps the Old Media are beginning to pick this up as is evident with a Knoxville News blog post by Katie Allison Granju.

Even smear merchant Michael Moore is touting the story with a headline demanding Gov. Palin to “Show us DNA” to prove her son’s provenance.

The question is, will the Old Media take up this story from the extremist hatemongers of the leftist fringe like Marcos Moulitsas and Michael Moore? Time will tell and we’ll keep monitoring.

**Update #4- London Times Now Repeats Fake Pregnancy Claim**

And it keeps growing. Now the London Times is throwing out this lie in an August 31 story.

If Mrs Palin, a conservative mother of five, ever doubted that landing on a national presidential ticket would open her to the harshest of spotlights and smear tactics, she also awoke yesterday to utterly unfounded internet rumours that her fifth child, born in April with Down’s Syndrome, was actually her 17-year-old daughter’s.

How far will the despicable story go? We are on the case.

**Update #5- CTV News Now Repeats Fake Pregnancy Claim**

More and more news outlets are noticing this putrid attack. CTV News posted a brief bit about the sickening DailyKos attack in its “Top Stories” section. Unfortunately the news outlet didn’t mention Kos by name as they should have.

It’s the type of scrutiny that the McCain camp will increasingly see as the media catches up on the background of the surprise choice.

But it’s nothing compared to the online smear campaign that has begun against Palin.

The most-vicious, from the left-leaning Daily Kos, contains completely unsubstantiated rumours about her recent pregnancy.

The more legs this story gets, I think the worse it will turn out for the left. They look very, very bad with this story. I feel it will drive voters to Sarah Palin’s side, so I hope the Old Media and New will really focus on this lie and vicious attack on a Down Syndrome child, new Mother and innocent teenaged girl.

I’ll take DailyKOS’ article with a grain of salt, maybe not even that, but I found its pictures and sources (at least the credible ones) to be very interesting. I’ll wait for this story to show up in a credible publication, but at the same time I’m not holding my breath. Besides, DNA tests could easily debunk this with little to no room for doubt.

That said, nice job straw-manning it up by going for the lowest common denominator to make yourself look good, sir.

I see poor spelling, incorrect grammar, and socially offensive commentary from both sides of the political fence, and to claim otherwise is to distort reality.

  2. The Machine on August 31st, 2008 1:57 am

And the filthy accusation from these lowlifes is not distorting reality?

    Right.

Do you expect anything less? Recall actions and reactions at the DNC hearings to seat the Michigan and Florida delegations (after a DEMOCRATIC Michigan governor and Congress screwed the electorate over deliberately in a game to remove everyone from the ticket but their Golden Child Hillary Clinton). Or the actions and reactions of Clinton supporters when she was stripped of her crown and scepter. Statements like “I can’t have Hillary, so I’m voting McCain.” Yeah, way to sulk.

These people are all too willing to poke their own Party - and all the “good” their party claims to represent - in the nether regions out of vindictiveness, spite, and outright stupidity so, again, do you really expect anything less?

I keep my fingers crossed that come November the entire Democratic Party implodes.

  4. Younger on August 31st, 2008 2:54 am

Actually, there are two stories going around, both involving the unwed pregnancy of Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old daughter, Bristol.

One story is that Bristol became pregnant last year and that Gov. Palin assumed her daughter’s pregnancy by announcing it as her own. According to this version, Gov. Palin never appeared to be pregnant, and was traveling much later than you’d expect of a pregnant woman.

The story of the birth of her fifth child, Trig, who has Down Syndrome, is false, according to this version, which is skeptical of Gov. Palin’s claim that she spent half a day on business, including speaking at a conference, after her water broke and she began having contractions.

The alternative theory, which has been advanced by Republicans in Alaska, is that Gov. Palin and her husband have neglected their four children since Sarah Palin took office. They dispersed their children among the homes of friends and family, and during that period Bristol Palin became pregnant.

By this theory, Gov. Palin was pregnant and delivered Trig, and Bristol is still pregnant, in her third trimester. The father is allegedly her high school boyfriend, who she has recently married.

I’m not sure which of these stories is true, if any. I have no doubt that the National Enquirer will sort it out between now and October.

  5. Stan on August 31st, 2008 3:11 am

Alan Colmes did not say Palin caused her baby to have Down’s Syndrome

“Did Palin Take Proper Pre-Natal Care?

Rogers Cadenhead gives the timeline associated with the birth of her newest child. She had a speech in Dallas and, even after the water broke, continued with her activities, and then boarded a plane for home. She did consult by phone with her doctor.”

I cannot belief any woman that had already had four children would not immediately go to a hospital when her water broke. It would be crazy to get on an airplane from Dallas to Alaska

  6. christmasghost on August 31st, 2008 3:37 am

“stan”…and just how many babies have you given birth to? I have had three, and you don’t know what you are talking about.
As for the rest of the nasty little shills and KosKids suddenly here….have you no shame?
    Vicious gossips all…..and nothing else.

  7. Younger on August 31st, 2008 4:23 am

christmasghost, did you travel on airplanes in your eighth month? If your water had broken, or if your amniotic fluid was leaking and you were having contractions, would you continue to do your business that day and then fly 3,000 miles home, or would you go to the hospital where you were?

  8. christmasghost on August 31st, 2008 4:47 am

younger…. yes I was still flying.I flew to South Africa in my 7th month in the first pregnancy.
2nd pregnancy drove for two hours to get to the hospital while [just about]sitting on middle son’s head….he was born 11 minutes after I arrived. And I had planted a whole orchard of fruit trees the day before….
Listen, women are tough…we really are.If you are a man you cannot possibly understand the pain of childbirth…trust me…but you could compare it to having your leg slowly cut off with a chainsaw while some really annoying person [also known as a doctor] tells you to breathe to make the pain go away.
When I was pregnant with my third son I was still riding up until 2 days before I had him.
Having contractions…big whoop…you go about what you are doing anyway. What do you think women do when they are on their second or third child? Tell the other kids, the housework, the RANCH work to just wait?
    Hardly…….
And I guess you didn’t know this little factoid but pregnant women are pretty picky about where they give birth…just like any other animal I might add.
So, not only would I have done what she did…I have.
And all three sons are just fine.

  9. Younger on August 31st, 2008 4:52 am

Okay, but this was a 44-year-old woman on her fifth child. All medical opinion, not to mention experience, says that giving birth is quicker over time. I find it curious that Gov. Palin claimed to have felt contractions and had fluid leaking at 3 a.m., and then attended a business conference and gave a speech, then flew 3,000 miles home to give birth.

I think a more plausible explanation is that she is not the one who bore Trig Palin. I’d love to see a blood test.

  10. christmasghost on August 31st, 2008 5:27 am

younger…read what you just wrote and really think about it:
“I think a more plausible explanation is that she is not the one who bore Trig Palin. I’d love to see a blood test.”

You would “love” to see a blood test? Why? Do you work for the National Enquirer?
Have you heard of Occam’s razor?
Before you start talking about what is “plausible” get yourself some education and I might add…morals.

  11. jay stevens on August 31st, 2008 7:46 am

Younger, I would like to see a copy of Obama’s REAL birth certificate. Neither of us are likely to get our way.

  12. William Teach on August 31st, 2008 9:26 am

It is just simply disgusting the way the libs act, and what they say.

  13. "gunner" on August 31st, 2008 10:09 am

while i’m usually a peaceable old man i occasionally get the urge to bust somebody in the snot locker. just now alan combs is high on the list, along with the other purveyors of this scurrilous nonsense.
    “gunner”

  14. James on August 31st, 2008 10:17 am

Even if all of the bogus birth stories were true, would they be as bad as the history of someone who tolerated a racist minister and church for a generation, consorted with unrepentant domestic terrorists, and dealt with shady people?

Women are tough. I read a nineteenth century woman’s diary. She gave birth in the morning and was weeding a corn field in the afternoon.

  15. Charm on August 31st, 2008 10:48 am

Any of you ever lived in Alaska? Any of you ever been there? Wimps don’t live in Alaska.
Alaskans don’t have to be hospitalized if their cappucino isn’t dry enough. I don’t know what the real story is about Palin’s last pregnancy, but the wimp factor displayed in some of these comments is frightening.

  16. William Teach on August 31st, 2008 11:01 am

BTW, Alan dumped the post into the memory hole. I can’t imagine why. I have a screen shot of it thru bloglines, if you want it, Warner.

  17. Younger on August 31st, 2008 11:26 am

I’ll be waiting for the Enquirer’s coverage. They’re the ones who unmasked John Edwards. I’d say this will hit their cover in, what, October?

  19. Jean on August 31st, 2008 12:29 pm

    Folks-

Sarah is breastfeeding. She has to have been pregnant in order to do so. This stupid rumor should be stamped out and there’s no need to invade Palin’s family’s privacy with DNA tests to do it.

  20. Younger on August 31st, 2008 2:51 pm

Sarah SAYS she is breastfeeding. Sarah SAYS lots of things.

  21. FAIRYLANTERN on August 31st, 2008 4:34 pm

Younger let me get this straight- Since John Edwards and Elizabeth lied to the American people and continues to cover it up, (sound familiar Mr. Clinton?)then it goes to reason that Sarah Palin must be lying about having a child. That makes it more “even” right?
Is it possible that those democrats are simply immoral liars and you don’t need to try to get even by attacking Sarah?

  22. Dog Watch Sailor on August 31st, 2008 8:35 pm

Don’t you just smell the fear coming from the left? I love the smell of fear in the morning- it smells like victory!
    Hats off to Gunner!!!!

HOW MANY OF OBAMA’S CONSTITUENTS ARE SINGLE MOMS?
You know the Obama speeches about how fathers
need to be responsible and not abandon their
children’s mothers. What hypocracy for Obama’s
attack dogs to now smear Palin’s family for their
daughters pregnancy.DAILY KOS ARE SCUM BAGS !!!
All you small minded people who are crucifying Governor Palin over the question of her fifth child, are just fueling a vicious smear campaign. Besides, if you want to exhibit your holier-than-thou attitude … why don’t you get even more angry at Obama, Michelle, and their children, for spending 20 years in an anti-American racist church, as well as associations with Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers, Rezko, etc.. These facts are much more relevant to the next administration, than the possibility of a loving mother taking the heat to protect her child and grandchild.
