Does The Barry 57 Campaign Really Want To Go There?

Posted on August 21, 2008

‘Memba this?

I’m hearing and reading that Camp Barry might use McCain’s little inability to remember how many homes he has as a theme against McCain. Does Barry 57 really want to go there?

Please, please go there, Barack.

Michelle Malkin has the new Barry 57 video that attacks McCain.

PS: Sure, McCain might be a bit elite. He has tons of money, and the little Mrs. has much more. They have many homes and condos. But, McCain doesn’t act elitist. Ever hear him insult middle Americans and their religion?

More: Hot Air has the McCain response to Barry 57

Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses? Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people “cling” to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who’s in touch with regular Americans?

The reality is that Barack Obama’s plans to raise taxes and opposition to producing more energy here at home as gas prices skyrocket show he’s completely out of touch with the concerns of average Americans. –McCain spokesman Brian Rogers

Oh yeah, they’re going there. And it’s just in time to be driven home over and over again by speakers at the Democratic Convention.

In one brief gaffe, there goes millions of dollars worth of celebrity ads down the tubes.

They are definitely going there. And I fear it will work.

This is why I hated the celebrity and elitist attack line. Our guy is incredible vulnerable on those charges. I like him, don’t get me wrong. But this is going to work well against us.

Your guy had to go that route because he is bankrupt on the other issues. Now he gave Obama the key to the the last 2 months of attacks and just in time to hammer it home during the conventions.

    This about sums it up

Oh, boy — this is a DISASTER.

The key is to change the subject. Not make it worse, with idiotic responses. It’s a simple mistake, move on.

Having seven (or four or ten homes) is not acting elitist? Wearing $520 loafers is not acting elitist?

Having a vacation home in Sedona - Sedona! - is not acting elitist?

You want a rich guy who doesn’t act elitist? Try Warren Buffet. You want an elitist? Try McCain.

  7. mkultra on August 21st, 2008 4:28 pm

Saying it takes at least $5 million to be rich is not elitist?

What planet do you people live on?

  8. tiregage on August 21st, 2008 4:34 pm

Like OB and Michelle isn’t rich.Who cares they are all rich!

  9. tiregage on August 21st, 2008 4:37 pm

Oh yeah,by the way, they all lie to.Welcome to the real world.Mcain lies a little less so i’ll vote for him.

Poor John is an old kept man. He really doesn’t own anything. Not even his soul. He Gramps is so out of touch its ridiculous. 5 million is middle class, and anyone who makes less is a peon. Maybe someone should take gramps out for a spin. See what America is all about.

Everyone holding office is RICH and cares less about the people, only their pockets!!
So vote between the two EVIL’S,Don’t like either but will go with Mc Cain!!

  12. caroline on August 21st, 2008 5:46 pm

No one cares if McCain doesn’t know how many houses he has…no one. It is irrelevant. And that shows how desperate Obama is getting since that is all he can come up with. He is a pathetic excuse for a candidate and his inexperience and total unqualification for the job is now showing.

  13. William Teach on August 21st, 2008 5:56 pm

Why am I not surprised that the libs do not get the joke McCain made about the $5 million? Libs have less humor then an IRS agent during an audit.

Caroline hits it on the nose, all politicians are rich. That pretty much puts them all in the “elite” class. But, do they act elitist, ie, better then the rest of us? Barry sure does. McCain doesn’t. Bush doesn’t. Kerry does. Pelosi sure does.

John McCain sucks but I’ll vote for him because Obama doesn’t exists! Anybody so helped by the media must be an insignificant loser and I don’t vote for losers. As far as homes are concerned…Obama’s preacher got a million-dollar home maybe as a payback for trashing America and it was paid for with beliefers’ money. Only those who hate America would vote for Obama-a man who never did anything worth mentioning, who never said anything interesting and who can’t get a job without trashing the country.

He owns several houses and even in San Diego where he and his wife have houses and haven’t paid their taxes on them. Now if we are doing this we go to jail and lose our homes. McCain is Bush jr. A major F-up who can’t even speak straight without someone coaching him on what to say. But hey if you want another four more years of BS, high prices and letting the rich get richer and the poor become even more poor than vote for Grampy McCANE. Hell lets just hand our country over to all the corps and china and foreign countries with all the oil cause that where we are going. Here is a man who clearly stated- “I don’t know much about the economy” and I have yet to hear one plan from him.

What’s with the whole elitist argument anyway? Yea, let’s pick a dumb average jo to be our leader. I want the smartest person in the country leading me. Bush’s big problem was in the way he made decisions, from the hip. Too much faith and belief in what he did. He surrounded himself with like minded people and stifled decent. He even made people look unpatriotic for questioning him. Now while Mccain’s been around longer he still shoots from the hip and his many years have imprinted him with ideologies. It’s Obama who better understands the process of making rational decisions by getting together sometimes elite, supersmart people with various views and empirical research in hand to debate and arrive at more evolved decisions. That trait is what makes me believe he would be better. He’s pragmatic and still open to using new methods, not idealistic. He’s pro free market and understands market forces but not a fundamentalist like McCain. We just tried huge tax cuts for the wealthy and look at us now. Let’s give them to the middle class instead and give them choice. The “Trickle down” process through companies goes to shareholders because a companies main goal is to increase shareholder wealth, not help average everyday workers. Heck, sometimes they lay off people to increase shareholder wealth.

I wish I could vote for McCain spokesman Brian Rogers instead of McCain.

“But, McCain doesn’t act elitist. Ever hear him insult middle Americans and their religion?”

    Uh…that’s easy.

“Neither party should be defined by pandering to the outer reaches of American politics and the agents of intolerance, whether they be Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton on the left, or Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell on the right.” -John McCain

Criticizing the national leaders of the Middle American evangelical movement as “agents of intolerance”, well, that’s just gosh darned insulting.

But I don’t expect you wackos to see the light, so deny away, while your nominee sits in a posh limo while waiting for his turn to speak about his “faith”. Elitist to the core.
