Why is only one of these cartoons tasteless and offensive?

Regular readers of Tongue Tied will know why from long experience. It is an example of the golden rule of hate speech: Only conservatives can utter hate speech (or hate cartoons) while anything that Leftists say is “free speech”, no matter how offensive it is.
The first cartoon did in fact come from a Leftist source — which is why it was simply dubbed offensive rather than hate speech — but it mocks a Leftist so that must be condemned. But a cartoon that ridicules a conservative? No problem!
The media were filled with condemnations of the Obama cartoon. Even McCain and various GOP figures condemned it. But the second cartoon (which also appeared in a well-known source) has aroused not a murmur in the media in the 4 weeks since it first appeared.
And note that the second cartoon depicts torturers as Asians (albeit Asians who look rather like Obama, Hillary and GWB). From anybody else that would be “racist”.

but the real answer is: because the left cannot laugh at itself. And that will be their undoing.
The answer is: Because they tell the truth?
Why do I get the feeling if there was any media outrage over the McCain cartoon, it’d be something along the lines of “How dare they depict Obama that way?!”
It’s a double standard like it always is. The liberals can do and say what ever they like and not held accountable for there actions. But like that be a conservative and all hell breaks out and they want the conservatives head on a platter. Just look at all that Obama has done. If he was White and a republican he would be thrown out of congress on his head without a second thought. The liberal saying is true “DO WHAT I SAY NOT WHAT I DO” We live in a country that rights and liberties are totally different from LEFT TO RIGHT of the isle! The liberals are destroying this country ever chance they get. Why do you think the terrorists support OBAMA and want him to win!
Obama is playing President.The American people are seeing the true Obama. As it shows when he is asked a question without his advisers the man draws a blank. That’s it Blank man for change. He doesn’t even know how long the term of president is. Obama said 10 years. Ok 57 states and not knowing the difference between holidays. The man Obama is a fake. My 4 year old has more knowledge of her country them Obama does!
Oh please dude. McCain makes just as many if not more mistakes. On the part of both men, I can understand the pressure they’re under to keep their mind clear every single day multiple times a day with questions. I would allow either one of them the silly slips. Is that all you can come up? At least the man has a fully operational mind at his age. Of course he knows the years in a term, the amount of states. You’d probably forget your 4 year olds name if you were standing in front of the millions that they both had to stand and speak in front of on a regular basis not including the 1,000 other things on their minds. Sorry kiddo, go back in your bag of chips for a better bite.
The Job for president is not your basic warehouse job. It’s a job that impacts everyone! Obama and all his slip ups as you call them and the double positions he tries to play both fields. He is no leader but a follower! You think we want Obama talking to other countries and he doesn’t know what the hell he is talking about without his advisors! He has no thoughts of his own and dodges policies questions. It’s a fact! He can’t take the heat when the light is shined on him. That’s why he will not do any one-on-one debates after Clinton made him look stupid! Obama is scared to screw up. And we don’t need a SCARED president this day and age! Iran would chew Obama up. You liberals are the supporters of terrorists and racists.
You liberals are the reasons this country is screwed up with liberal congressmen worrying about their own pockets and pet projects then to worry about the American people who pay their wages! They forget that they work for US the people! If they just do their jobs they were elected to do and by the laws, this country would be so much better place. But I have one thing to say. If you liberals hate this country and our laws so much, no one is stopping you from leaving. The only thing that stops you people is gutless and scared of what another country would do to them! You people disrespect veterans , defend child molesters , support rights for terrorists , you are working to pull our troops out of a situation that they are winning so that they can just be re-deployed again back into Iraq to fight yet another war!
You people want to sit down and talk to the leader of Iran like you have a magic wand and all will be okeydokey. But the fact is Iran today even after sitting down and talking, still says it will not stop enriching process. They want the nuke to attack Israel and then there is going to be a war of all wars. You Liberals don’t care about gas prices all you people care about is the loony greenheads and making them happy while we struggle with oil prices. That’s why Ried is blocking all votes for drilling and anything else the Republicans do to help Americans. And if talking in front of thousand of people makes Obama nervous then the job for president is not for stage fright!
Maybe he should go back to Rev Wright’s church where he had no problems for 20 some years hearing racist’s remarks and anti-American put downs with his wife and kids. Obama is far from a MAN. He can’t even make decisions that are right for his own family much less the country! Look mom, daddy invited a terrorist & a few racists’ friends to dinner. His buddies know more about bombs then Obama does. I bet Obama has a lot of friends in the ACLU. Because their views are the same as his! Democrats are like snakes as you see with Sen. Lieberman. The Democrats are ready to kick him out of the party for supporting a Republican. The man has an open mind and respect, and that’s what you Liberal Democrats lack!
