Obama birth certificate question re-opened
Posted on June 19, 2008

Look at it. It’s lovely, isn’t it? There’s a much more detailed picture of it here (use the resize gadget to enlarge it).
But, as a graphics expert shows conclusively, it is a fake that somebody has produced using a graphics program.
So where is the real one? Does it exist? Is he really a native-born American, as the constitution requires?

Dammit, the least this a$$hat could do would be to just-release-your-damn-birth-certificate. Dispel any questions, rumors, and doubts. What’s the big fricken deal? For God Sakes, what’s he got to hide?
I will defer to others with greater technical knowledge than I, but I do scan documents all the time. It’s just that, 90% of the time I use Acrobat and turn them into PDFs unless I have a specific need to use Photoshop.
Both files are 300dpi .jpg files, so basically what is loosely termed “hi-resolution.”
I keep looking at the Obama doc and it just doesn’t “look” to me like anything I’ve scanned before. The text is sharp and distinct even when I zoom in as far as I can (see pics below), but the background doesn’t match. In the Obama doc, there is the sort of “halo” around the letters — something I know can be caused in Photoshop when you try to set a transparent background behind your text, and I know this because I’ve frustrated myself on more than one occasion tying to clean it up.
What’s hanging me up is that there should be a consistent loss of quality when you zoom in. But in the Kos/Obama doc, the background gets a little fuzzy while the text stays sharp. Look at how distinct the “H” is in “OAHU.” It’s perfectly aligned. Here’s another close-up:

Sample: http://img135.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=91959_sample-oahu_122_990lo.jpg
If it’s a scanned document, with zero shenanigans, the text, the background, all of that should become uniformly fuzzy as you zoom in, because it’s all one flat image.
Note as well that the sample doc looks like a document — like it’s been handled and folded. A hi-res color scan looks just like a picture of a real, paper document. The Obama .jpg at first glance looks like it was never a paper document. There’s what appears to be a crease near the top, but there’s no depth to it, like in the other scan.
one thing I really don’t like about the Kos/Obama doc is that all of the text is absolutely perfectly north-south aligned. It’s 100% straight in all aspects. Like I said, I scan docs all the time, and unless you’re some incredibly anal retentive person, you’re not going to have that level of precision, because you’re dealing with a piece of paper that (in my case) shifts a minute little bit when you close the top of the scanner. Look at how all the characters in the Kos/Obama doc are absolutely perfectly aligned. The left side of every character is just as heavy as the right. Every letter with verticals like H or U has perfectly straight uniform alignment. Zero loss of quality. It’s astounding. I could scan a document a hundred times and never make something that perfect. A real scanned document would have (I don’t know how to better describe it) more of a left-right “lean” to the letters. Some would be right heavy, some left heavy, the horizontal lines in an uppercase E wouldn’t be all uniform and perfect.
Here’s a comparison of the two: http://img200.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=97324_compare_122_399lo.JPG
One last thing, and for the record — I’m not pushing this because I believe in some conspiracy theory about Obama’s place of birth or parentage. I’m worked up because, after reading this post last night and looking closely at the documents I think it’s possible that Markos pulled a fast one, and I don’t like it one bit.
Hawaiian birth certificates from 1961 were black with white print. The certificate shown is definitely not the original.
Well the truth is importnat and the only way to find out is for someone to file a case in Court so that a subpoena is issued to the Hawaii records to produce the original record.
The photoshopping question is not important as various scanning/jpeg compression techniques can create artifacts in the image.
BUT the certificate does not have:
1. The signature of the issuing official
2. A certificate number
3. The date issued (its a certified copy not the original)
thus its a 100% invalid document.
Still waiting on John Kerry to release his military health records he promised to in 2004.
How come my birth certificate from NY has a design embedded in it to prevent a person from making a true copy and Obama’s doesn’t. It seems too pure a copy.
It should be obvious to anyone that the “birth certificate” presented by KOS is fake. If you look at the printing it is quite clear it has been printed using modern day methods such as ink or laser jet technology. In 1961 it is most likely that a birth certificate would have been filled out by hand or using a typewriter. Even if it had been printed on a IBM 407 or 402 tabulating machine the typeface would show flaws. This is a ridulous attempt by a fool trying to fool other fools.
The “copy” doesn’t show any signs of ever having been folded.
When I went to get passports for me and the family, all the birth certificates were “current” format copies, not the originals from years ago. The copies I received had been folded in thirds for mailing.
I have scanned hundreds of photos and documents for genealogy and if the sample birth certificate had ever been folded, it would have been picked up by the scanner.
Something else is missing. The registrar’s name and signature. I have seen an Hawaiian birth certificate and they don’t look like that. The state seal is centered in the middle of the page, it is very much like a New York (my state) or Tennessee and Kentucky’s are (both of my kid’s birth certificates). The fact that it isn’t folded isn’t always true. One can get a birth certificate in person and they aren’t usually folded. But these days they aren’t on 8×11 paper. They are smaller.
And there is writing on the back of most states (I’m not sure of all the states) certificates.
There are too many inconsistencies in this document. It just didn’t look right to begin with.

I have a hawaii birth certificate (I was born in honolulu.) I have to say his birth certificate seems fake, you think he could afford to get a better forged one.
I BELEIVE BACK IN 61 THE TERM USED FOR AFRICAN WOULD HAVE BEEN BLACK THEREFORE THIS IS A FORGED DOCUMENT. WE HAD BETTER WAKE UP BEFORE IT’S TO LATE.
