Obama does the fist bump! He’s just SO hip and cool!

Posted on June 5, 2008

The media is just fawning over Barack Obama’s “celebration” with his wife Michelle over the news that he clinched the nomination. They did the fist bump (followed by a little [butt] smacking)! That means Obama is hip! He’s cool! He’s authentic! He’s in touch with the young voters!

Give me a freaking break. Here’s the video. It is the most asinine thing for the press to get themselves worked up in a frenzy over, but of course, this is the Obamamessiah we’re talking about here.

Yes… the press has nailed it. This is what we truly needed in a President… someone who can do the fist bump with his wife! Screw experience and knowledge. We’ll take hipness and empty rhetoric over that any day!

Gag me.

Stop missing the point. It was cool and suggests another way Obama is natural and not like other candidates who pretend passionate kisses, etc. Also, just the look on his face was great and intimate and people like to feel connected. It wasn’t fake looking and that’s what’s admirable after being so used to fake politicians.

Thank you for sharing your ignorance about how to spell sickle.

Oh yeah, it’s cool. What are you 12? Sorry but “cool” and “rock star” and “hip” doesn’t cut it. It amazes me that between the two parties we couldn’t come up with a decent candidate. I expect nothing less from the pop culture mentality that dutifully tunes in to watch American Idol and other “reality” shows. Any idea of how many American kids actually graduate high school? We’re well on our way to becoming a third world country. But hey, the important thing is that the anointed one has the inner city hipness.

cgh, i hope you realized Cassy was being sarcastic and was making fun of the media thinking this was “cool”.

  5. GLH on June 6th, 2008 12:27 pm

… though not nearly as cool as an overaged dry drunk homosexual fascist war criminal bumping chests at a graduation ceremony with a man over forty years his junior, eh?

  6. GLH on June 6th, 2008 12:31 pm

… or howza ’bout walking, like a pair of little French school girls, hand-in-hand at Camp David with the dress wearing “Prince Bandar of the Monkey People”, while he sells our country to his. Too cool, man.

They are so getto. I hope he never steps foot in the Oval Office. Whats next a pimped-out Escalade or Spinners on the Presidential Limo. Maybe some grafitti on Air Force One. OOOOH…. Mabey they will both wear their pants down around their butts. That’s pretty in touch with American Youth.

The press is ridiculous, Barack Obama could have reenacted two girls one cup and they would have fawned over him!

Hey Jay, I should’ve made it clear about to whom I was responding. My comment was directed to Chris a couple of posts up.

gas over $4 a gallon - foreclosures thru the roof - over 4000 troops dead from iraq war - unemployment over 5% etc, etc and the issue that really upsets some in the press and many of earlier comments - the fist bump. i can’t believe those people’s lives are so shallow that the fist bump really bothers them. are you a bitter person???

It’s the right-wingers going bonkers of the outrageous “Hammas-inspired” fist-bump that is the funniest thing. Everyone else thinks it was great.

BTW Squares, it’s called ‘dap’ or, more appropriately, ‘giving dap.’ If you’re going to note the occurrence, perhaps you should do a little research?

Why is everybody looking for an opportunity to knock this man down? It was their moment and their thing. It was an intimate moment and we should be happy that he and his wife are comfortable enough in front of the media to be themselves. Regarding the comment about them being ghetto, firs, learn how to spell the word (you spelled it getto) and next if you are going to use it, use it properly. Ghetto folks, do not speak as eloquently as they do nor do they dress as classy. Barack and Michelle are about as real as it gets! Yes, they are young and fresh but why is that perceived as a bad thing. If Bill Gates didn’t recruit young and fresh minds, we would still be using an antiquated version of Windows and blogs such as this would not exist… Hell, how young was Bill when broke into the industry? Better yet, how “inexperienced” was he? Open your minds people!

I am so tired of people using the term “ghetto” as a derogatory term. I hate hearing people using it. In some cases it has become a less intense way of saying the n-word. And don’t even try to disagree because if you think of what or how you may be thinking when you use “ghetto” you will see.
