Latest on Michelle Obama “Whitey” Video Rumor

Posted on June 4, 2008

Update: Katy Grimes hears word that Rudy Giulliani acquired the tape. If so, we won’t be seeing this tape for a while. However, as AJ Strata notes, if it was on sale from Trinity United then lots of people should have the video.

Here is the latest.

The Michelle Obama Rant Tape was filmed between June 26th - July 1st 2004 in Chicago, IL at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference at Trinity United Church: specifically the Women’s Event.

Michelle Obama appeared as a panelist alongside Mrs. Khadijah Farrakhan and Mrs. James Meeks.

Bill Clinton spoke during the Conference, as did Bill Cosby and other speakers, but not at the panel Michelle attended.

Michelle Obama spoke at the Women’s Event, but referenced Bill Clinton in her rant — his presence at the conference was the impetus for her raving, it seems.

For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on “whitey”, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that’s when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who’s seen this.

Supposedly it is from a dvd sold by Trinity United Church. They go on to state how easy it would be for the Chicago local media to either confirm or debunk this rumor.

Note: The blogger that started hyping this rumor has a past reputation for hyping rumors that don’t turn out true. On the other hand, with Michelle’s college thesis and other statements it would not surprise me to be true.

I will not vote for Obama no matter what!
After running a campaign that labeled a former Democratic vice-presidential candidate, a former Democratic President, two Democratic governors, an entire region of the country (Appalachia), and perhaps half of Democratic voters in the primary as “racists.”
And, for me especially, letting a homophobic preacher take over a campaign event in South Carolina, after being warned, and then refusing to criticize the preacher’s words, or apologize.

Really, South Carolina says it all: paint Bill Clinton as a racist, and throw gays under the bus, to solidify Obama’s votes in the African American community.

  2. Vera on June 4th, 2008 5:16 pm

First of all, in 2004, Barak Obama had already been elected senator. He and his wife have endured extrodinary scrutiny by the press on a daily basis. They know, understand and expect that their every action and statements will be the focus of continued observation.

Secondarily, Michelle is a highly educated woman with an extensive vocabulary. I notice that each time this video is mentioned the term “whitey” is italicized. My question is, if she talked about caucasians, would she have used that word or is the author of this episode inserting it into his alledged report to create negative attention?

This country can not embrace the ideology of change which this candidate represents. It is up to us, the people, to think and to prevent lies and racism to cloud our rational thinking.

Thirdly, the video of this event has never been aired. Certainly, in four years, it would have been reported on all news media.

  3. G.F. on June 4th, 2008 6:10 pm

“the video of this event has never been aired. Certainly, in four years, it would have been reported on all news media.”

Hey there Vera, did you just happen not to notice that the Wright tapes didn’t surface until years after his hate-filled “sermons” were delivered?

Is it really that shocking that the media would have either covered for their Messiah, let him off the hook or covered for him?

That don’t play no more, lady…we are in a New Media Age and only since it matters has anyone really dug into Obama. And we aren’t done.

If you can’t imagine the “highly-educated” Michelle Obama would be using the word “whitey,” you must have been asleep for the last six months.

  4. Joe on June 4th, 2008 6:32 pm

    Vera!
Michelle made these comments a month before Obama made his keynote speech. He was an Illinois Senator. He became a U.S. Senator in 2006. The question that has been raised since the beginning of the primaries was Obama’s lack of vetting. Don’t make the false assumption that because of someone’s special remit or position that they are as highly functioning and collected as you would hope. On the contrary, some of the most educated, in my experience, are some of the most emotionally and spiritually challenged.

Get the tape out now so hillary can get the nomination. Our nation can’t take any chances on an Obama presidency . Guilliani show us the tape now and save us the pain of race riots later.

  6. God Himself on June 5th, 2008 1:04 am

There was no Rainbow/Push event at Trinity Church in 2004. There was one at the Sheraton that year but Michelle Obama was not a speaker there. This whole tape is a complete fiction.

    I’ll repeat that:

The Rainbow/Push CoalitionConference in 2004 WAS NOT HELD AT TRINITY CHURCH.

Michelle Obama WAS NOT A SPEAKER at the conference that was held at the Sheraton in Chicago.

This tape is a hoax, and an inane one at that.

  7. God Himself on June 5th, 2008 1:05 am

Joe, Barack Obama was elected to the US Senate in 2004.

  8. Vera on June 5th, 2008 1:28 am

You know, Joe, facts are able to be documented. Read the easily documented facts concerning the actual dates and the program for the conference cited to verify the authenticity of the event. As you mentioned, if the Wright video was delayed until now, one would have to wonder why it was aired at this time. When, in fact, was that sermon given? To the extent that these videos have not been aired till now, one has to critically ponder why, at this time, they have surfaced. The video of Michelle has not surfaced because it does not exist. We are free to decide which candidate we will or will not support, but manufacturing rumors and lie intended to discredit individuals, for whatever reason, is easily refuted. To do so is cowardly.

  9. Vera on June 5th, 2008 1:32 am

Joe, I forgot to mention that I totally agree with one of the statements you made. You said, “On the contrary, some of the most educated, in my experience, are some of the most emotionally and spiritually challenged.” I assume you mean George Bush, although it is arguable that he is highly educated.

  10. GB on June 5th, 2008 9:28 am

Why can’t this tape come out? If there is such a thing it is an injustice to keep it quiet. People need to know about these Obama people, everything.

  11. OBAMA_SUCKS on June 5th, 2008 4:55 pm

The tape is not out yet because we conservatives are going to pin Obama and his anti-american wife in the fall with this, so there is no way he and the liberal media will get around this. also to whoever spoke about michelle obama and said she has a great vocabulary and went to a great school and such, SHE SAID AMERICA IS MEAN AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME SHE IS PROUD OF HER COUNTRY,,, COMing from someone who makes 300K a year and is a millionaire, i do not see it weird that she would say the word “whitey” i have heard she is a racist, and took everything Rev Wright and others said to heart. NOBAMA 08! JOHN MCCAIN!

  12. Yappy on June 5th, 2008 5:13 pm

If theses tapes were made, I personally would love to play them for the good old boys and the media, especially,Jack Cafferty on CNN. They are so filled with hate for Hillary Clinton.

  13. Marvin on June 5th, 2008 8:03 pm

The “Whitey Rant’ referenced New Orleans so the conference was not in 2004 but in late 2005 or in 2006.

  14. Alok on June 6th, 2008 10:38 am

We need the tapes today to redeem Hillary who has always held that Obama has not been vetted.

Someone mentioned that Michelle is educated. She may be but she seems to have a dark side to her - otherwise why would she say ‘I want to rip (Bill Clinton’s) eyes out. Kidding!’ or something to that effect in an interview she gave.

  15. Luis on June 6th, 2008 4:02 pm

The Obama’s are both racists and only Liberals buy into the B.S. Barack is cooking. He wore earplugs in church for 20 years? LOL, comical. Was not involved in shady real estate deals with Rezko, of course not, LOL. Oh, and William (Weather Underground) Ayers? And on and on and on.

Vote McCain or join the insane

  16. WestCoastMessenger on June 7th, 2008 8:07 pm

I’ve been investigating that particular conference and the web of people that converged there. Interesting that Barack Obama himself was at this conference, along with Kerry and Bill Clinton, and the major focus of the conference was “1000 Connected Churches”, empowering black churchgoers. One of the sessions was called Hip Hop Fusion. Interesting topic. Farrakhan has been carefully cultivating a relationship with the Hip Hop world attempting to get them to inject messages in favor of black politicians into their songs. During the course of this whole conference it appears that black liberation doctrine played a part, it’s not known how big of a part, though. At any rate, it is also clear that Michelle Obama was there, and that she was with Mrs. Farrakhan. It is doubtful that she spoke to the crowd at large as the wife of a state senator. If such a rant occurred it would have been more informal conversation around a smaller group, during a table break out, or post-event conversation. According to information obtained from the Rainbow Push coalition the taping of the event was farmed out to a third party. There is an effort underway to identify that third party and conduct a careful review of their archives. I’d say there is a 98% probability that the tape claim will turn out to be bogus, but stranger things have happened.

Also, the claim at the top that the blogger that originally posted this rumor has a poor track record, the opposite is true. This claim has legs because Larry Johnson, a former CIA agent, does have a valid track record. He’s the guy that outed Randi Rhodes and her miserable attacks on Clinton. Stay tuned.

How would he pull it off? I wondered.

How would Barack explain to his press groupies why he sat silent in a pew for 20 years as the Rev. Jeremiah Wright delivered racist rants against white America for our maligning of Fidel and Gadhafi, and inventing AIDS to infect and kill black people?

US Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) speaks to supporters during a campaign stop at the University of Charleston in Charleston, West Virginia, March 20, 2008. REUTER/John Sommers II (UNITED STATES) US PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN 2008 (USA)
    Related Media:
    VIDEO: ‘Really Infuriating’
How would he justify not walking out as Wright spewed his venom about “the U.S. of K.K.K. America,” and howled, “God damn America!”

My hunch was right. Barack would turn the tables.

Yes, Barack agreed, Wright’s statements were “controversial,” and “divisive,” and “racially charged,” reflecting a “distorted view of America.”

But we must understand the man in full and the black experience out of which the Rev. Wright came: 350 years of slavery and segregation.

Barack then listed black grievances and informed us what white America must do to close the racial divide and heal the country.

The “white community,” said Barack, must start “acknowledging that what ails the African-American community does not just exist in the minds of black people; that the legacy of discrimination — and current incidents of discrimination, while less overt than in the past — are real and must be addressed. Not just with words, but with deeds … .”

And what deeds must we perform to heal ourselves and our country?

The “white community” must invest more money in black schools and communities, enforce civil rights laws, ensure fairness in the criminal justice system and provide this generation of blacks with “ladders of opportunity” that were “unavailable” to Barack’s and the Rev. Wright’s generations.

What is wrong with Barack’s prognosis and Barack’s cure?

Only this. It is the same old con, the same old shakedown that black hustlers have been running since the Kerner Commission blamed the riots in Harlem, Watts, Newark, Detroit and a hundred other cities on, as Nixon put it, “everybody but the rioters themselves.”

Was “white racism” really responsible for those black men looting auto dealerships and liquor stories, and burning down their own communities, as Otto Kerner said — that liberal icon until the feds put him away for bribery.

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America.

Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.

This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.

Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks — with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas — to advance black applicants over white applicants.

Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude?

Barack talks about new “ladders of opportunity” for blacks.

Let him go to Altoona and Johnstown, and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for “deserving” white kids.

Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America’s fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena. And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.

Everything Patrick J. Buchanan is true. Barack and Michelle Obama have been given great opportunities in this country and do not show any appreciation. I’m tired of the whining from black people that they aren’t given enough. As far as black on white crime, I myself a 72 year old white woman, was mugged by two young black males, and had a purse ripped out of my hand, knocked down and had a broken finger, right in front of my condo. My brother was stabbed by black males when he was working a second job at a convenience store.

  19. Tamster on June 11th, 2008 2:31 am

Im sorry you feel that way Yappy however, they have black and white people that do bad things. I’m sorry for what happened to you and your family. I am black and I will apologize for them. We all do just want the same things in life Yappy. Just to be able to survive. Do you hate me or the Obama cause we are black if so why? What did I do? What have the Obamas done to you personally for you to hate so much? Do you really want to live the prime of your life with all that hate in your heart. I bet if you got to know me you would like me. Take care Yappy and have a good evening.

  20. justcrazy on June 11th, 2008 7:28 pm

Tamster… I will not apologize for something that someone did simply because we’re black and neither should you. Whites don’t take on that responsibility and they shouldn’t.

Yappy I was mugged by 2 white males… Just 2. That in no way reflects on an entire race of people.

If the tape exists then it will be another hurdle that Obama will surely overcome. Further, I do not believe he would have run if it existed knowing that it would one day surface. So I say to all you white folk chomping at the bit to tear this brotha down…

    Bring it on whitey.

    LOL

  21. Tamster on June 11th, 2008 7:44 pm

Justcrazy, I am just getting so tired of reading all the hate. I was Raped by a white man, however I am over that and no, I don’t hold all white people accountable for that nor do I have that kind of heart. But lately I have been called everything but the child of GOD. All I want is for Obama to get in office and trying my best not to let all this stupidity get on my last nerve. But thanks. Keep in touch.

  22. William on June 12th, 2008 4:38 pm

You haven’t seen it yet because it does not exist. Go to this website for a little bit of actual substance if you dare:

    volokh.com/posts/1212598400.shtml

Of course, it wouldn’t surprise me if you didn’t go there, because most of you would rather stay in a perpetual state of hatred, ignorance, and wishful thinking.

Don’t you think that if such a rant had happened it would have come to light much earlier? The Women’s Luncheon was moderated by two ABC anchors, for crying out loud.

My advice to you would be to put this dreamed up controversy to rest and start focusing on how to somehow stop McCain’s campaign from falling apart any further.

  23. William on June 12th, 2008 4:46 pm

Or, if you have an ounce of sense, you could get behind Obama like Hillary did. To all of those Hillary folks who are threatening to vote for McCain instead, listen to what your candidate is saying:

A vote for McCain is a vote against women, against responsible foreign policy, against the environment, against affordable and accessible health care, and against a repaired economy. Voting for McCain is the least patriotic thing you could do.

  24. Luis on June 12th, 2008 4:49 pm

I personally want to thank you Jack, the Communist News Network and all these Liberal morons for hours of entertainment. Your mindless, cultlike devotion to the second coming of Jimmy Carter keeps me laughing everyday.

The fact that you have nothing of substance to discuss when it comes to your messiah (name a significant accomplishment) and his racist wife and church (he only quit for political expediency and I applaud Rev. Wacko Wright for pointing that out) proves that Liberalism is a mental disorder. Their use of race as a crutch for their intellectual and moral shortcomings is predictable.

Thank you so much. I predict that at least 55%-60% of America sees this media creation for what he is in November and back to the church he goes.

    Peace out Morons, LOL

  25. Luis on June 16th, 2008 7:42 am

A thank you letter to DH

    My fellow Americans:

As your future President I want to thank my supporters, for your mindless support of me, despite my complete lack of any legislative achievement, my pastor’s relations with Louis Farrakhan and Libyan dictator Moammar Quadafi, or my blatantly leftist voting record while I present myself as some sort of bi-partisan agent of change.

I also like how my supporters claim my youthful drug use and criminal behavior somehow qualifies me for the Presidency, after 8 years of claiming Bush’s youthful drinking disqualifies him. Your hypocrisy is a beacon of hope shining over a sea of political posing.

I would also like to thank the Kennedy’s for coming out in support of me. There’s a lot of glamour behind the Kennedy name, even though JFK started the Vietnam War, his brother Robert illegally wiretapped Martin Luther King, Jr., and Teddy killed a female employee with whom he was having an extra marital affair and who was pregnant with his child. And I’m not going anywhere near the cousins, both literally and figuratively.

And I’d like to thank Oprah Winfrey for her support. Her love of meaningless empty platitudes will be the force that propels me to the White House.

Americans should vote for me, not because of my lack of experience or achievement, but because I make people feel good. Voting for me causes some white folk to feel relieved of their imagined, racist guilt.

I say things that sound meaningful, but don’t really mean anything because Americans are tired of things having meaning. If things have meaning, then that means you have to think about them.

Americans are tired of thinking. It’s time to shut down the brain, and open up the heart. So when you go to vote, remember, don’t think, just do. And do it for me.

    Thank You.
    Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.

  26. Yappy on June 20th, 2008 4:04 am

Tamster,I never said I hated all black people.I have always gotten along well with black people that I worked with. I respected them and they respected me. I and my brother actually have black friends, and I have felt one black ladies pain when she lost two of her children by black on black crime.I know what it is like to lose a child, as I lost a son, in a drowning accident, on his 17th birthday. I know that there are good and bad people of all races, and gender. I am not asking any one person to apologize to me. All I am saying is that the Obamas belonged to a church that spewed out hate for white people, not just for a year, but for twenty years, and Barack Obama didn’t quit that church because he thinks what the church teaches is wrong, but because he doesn’t want the media to bother those people of that congregation. In those videos you can see the glee on the congregation’s faces. I have never seen and such videos of any elected United States Presidents. I have seen some terrible things about white candidates, but then they did’t get elected, thank God. Just Crazy, I wouldn’t accept your apology if you gave me one because by saying,” bring it on Whitey”, tells me you would be insincere. I think you are the racist. I don’t think we should elect a president just because he is young, black, white, female, or whatever,I think we should elect a person that is most capable of looking out for this country adnd all her people. I don’t feel the best person was nominated.

  27. Tamster on June 20th, 2008 2:37 pm

Yappy, I never said bring it on Whitey, that was Pat Buchanan. I am bi-racial, half white and half black so I love all people. I do not like racist blacks or whites. You do not have to except my apology and I’m not mad at you for not. I know who and what I am. Just cause you work with and know black people does not mean you are not racist. I suggest you go to Rev. Wrights church before you judge. The media only played a part of the sermon. Infact, if you would like to contact me, please do so by email Prettylocs@ cox.net. This way you and I can get to know each other without all this other mess. Take care and hope to hear from you soon.
    Tamster

  28. Yappy on June 22nd, 2008 1:57 am

Tamster, I never said you said ,”Bring it on Whitey”, that is how, Just Crazy signed her post. Just because YOU think I am a racist does not make it so. I saw enouth of Rev. Wrights sermons and the glee on the congregations faces to make a judgement that a good thing was not happening and that that church is preaching Black Liberation, and later his strange rant on TV, not just a sound byte, was rather odd by anyones standards.I didn’t just say that I only worked with black people, but that we liked each other and also respected each other. They didn’t think of me as a racist. I perfer to keep my comments on a public blog and not to give out my e-mail address thank you.

  29. Yappy on June 22nd, 2008 2:09 am

Tamster, in one of your posts you state you are black, now you say you are bi-racial, half black and half white. Obama is the same. Why then is he running only as a black man? He has a new campaign ad out that end, ” By the way do they mention I am black”?

  30. Tamster on June 23rd, 2008 12:47 pm

    Yappy,

If I were to come up to you as a white person because my mom is white would you except that? NO
I cannot go anywhere and say I’m white just as Obama can’t. Granted I am much lighter than Obama but I could not go anywhere and say I’m white. Society would not allow it no matter what I said. The only way for you to understand would be to walk in my shoes then you would be able to speak on it. But until then you don’t know!

  31. Tamster on June 23rd, 2008 12:58 pm

    Yappy,

If your Black friends knew that you felt the way you did, do you really feel that they would understand? Have you been to their homes? Have you met their family? They aren’t your friends they are just Black people that you know of. You respect what you think you know which is not much. Its sad when White people feel that they have black friends but know nothing about them other than what you know in passing at work. Unlike you I have white, black, hispanic and asian friends as well as associates. Don’t get associates and friends mixed up. They are 2 different things.

  32. Yappy on June 24th, 2008 3:33 am

    Tamster,
You are putting your words in my mouth and your feelings in my heart. My relationship with my black friends from work was more than just a passing at work. We did things socially outside of work and I have had many a telephone conversation with them. For one thing they have told me that they weren’t in favor of interracial marriage. We had two white women, that worked on my shift that were married to black men, and they were not too keen on that. They brought the subject up, not me.
I have been looking back at my life. My Aunt was married to a Filipino, a man who was a porter on trains, and they had a son, who was the same age as me. Growing up we did many things together. We always met at my grandparents for Thanksgiving, and in the summertime we went on many a picnic together. It never occurred to me that this was a unique situation, especially when you realize this was back in the early 1940s. I now have a great-grandson who is part Japanese and he is the light of my life.
One day I was putting CD’s in my player and after I had made my selections, I realized out of the five CD’s I selected, 4 of them were black entertainers. A Motown, Dorothy Moore, Nat King Cole, and Marvin Gaye, sorry no rap or hip hop, not my era. My point being that if I was such a racist, I would not be buying any black music because that supports black people. No I can’t walk in your shoes nor can you walk in my shoes.
Just what is it that I have that you want? I was brought up in a very poor family. I am greatful for what I have today. By no means am I wealthy. I have worked hard all of my life. I am retired, live in a very modest condo on a very modest income.
I have just one question for you. Just exactly why do you want Barack Obama to be elected to the Presidency of the United States Of America?

  33. Tamster on June 24th, 2008 12:33 pm

For you to say you heard enough of Rev. Wrights sermon to know what he is saying is ignorant. It is safer to not know enough or have all the information and make a decision than it is to really know all the information then have an opinion. So for you to share your opinion on half of the information is just like not knowing what you are talking about. Not knowing what you are talking about & not having all the information = IGNORANCE!
I don’t believe that I called you a racist, however for you to have to prove that you are not by saying you buy black music, know black people and have black friends shows me that you may not all together believe that you aren’t. Personally, I don’t care if you are or not, just have all your information accurate before you make or share your opinion.
Also, you asked what do I want from you. NOTHING! Anything I want I will get for myself by myself. I, like you live in a condo in a decent neighborhood but do not take for granted that I know what someone else is thinking, feeling or the reason why they may behave the way they do. Especially if I have not walked in their shoes and lived through their experiences. I may not understand it but I cannot judge nor will I. It is hard enough for the all of us (black, white, red, green or blue) to make it today and just be happy. Racists(black, white, red, green or blue) forget that we all are going through hard times. Not just one race but all races. You, like me are paying 4.00 or more for gas, paying the same amount for food and barely able to get good health care. So excuse me for voting for Obama. I am just really ready to have change and need something to look forward to other than the same ole same ole washington politics.

    Yappy,
You ask why am I voting for Obama:
First let me say this. Originally, I was for Hillary Clinton until she turned into something other than what I thought she was (lunatic, entitled, too emotional, and would change at the drop of a hat). The Clintons had majority of the Democratic voters but when they started spewing out things, and acting un-Democratic they just made people look at Obama closer.
I also believe in a woman’s right to choose and Obama is for that.
I am tired of this war, my daughter and her husband are in Iraq. Not to mention my daughter was sent to Iraq 3 months after my granddaughter was born and my son-n-law was already over there.
    I want adequate healthcare.
I want the no child left behind abolished, it is a bunch of crock.
Getting a college education is almost like cutting off an arm.
I like that he is willing to make things happen with all people.
Obama is willing to bring people together and that includes Republicans and Independents, - Whites, Blacks, Asians, Hispanics.
Also, if you have been raised in the circumstances that he has been raised in then you know what is needed. (I am so tired of having politicians that have never been through the things the average person has been through but able to make decisions on how things should be done. Its like asking a butcher how to bake a cake!!
Obama has not called that we know of his wife a [c**t] in public. Obama has a very (so it seems) strong marriage.
Obama knows both sides of the fence on more issues than McCain. For instance- He knows what its like to be black raised by his white mother (strength) He knows how it is to get assistance (food stamps). He knows how it is to be in debt (student loans). He knows how it is to be judged (elite-radical-Muslim etc). Need I say more? If so please let me know!!!

    Yappy,

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Tamster,
I don’t know all of your past circumstances, but I bet you have had a much tougher time growing up than Barack Obama. He likes to cite that his mother was on food stamps, he was two years old, when his father abandoned him and his mother. His mother was a single mother for four years, and then she married again, when he was ten his mother sent him to his white grandparents who enrolled him in an elite school in Hawaii. It was a racially diverse school. He graduated and got a scholarship for college to an Ivy league school. After all the help he got from his white side of his family he chooses to embrace his black father who abanonded him.He even writes a book,”Dreams From my Father.” His father also got help with his education from this country even though he was not from this country. I know college tuitions are sky high today , but I don’t think they were that high back twenty five or so years ago. I just don’t feel like the Obamas have had such a tough life. I don’t begrudge him anything that he has, but by God please don’t slam the very people that helped you.
My daughter, who I suspect is closer to your age than you to my age, just got her college degree this past May. She worked full time, raised a daughter and took classes. Granted she got some help with her tuition from her employers, but she had to put the money out first and achieve a good grade in order to get most, not all, of her money back. It took her quite a few years and I am very proud of her. I have to go now I had an emergency come up. I will write more later.

You guys are pathetic. Turns out that event wasn’t even held at Trinity, and Michelle didn’t speak at the event where it was held.

    Tamster,
First of all I am not Ignorant because I don’t agree with Rev. Wright. Obama himself said he didn’t agree with him. I am just wondering why it took so long for him to realize what his pastor was saying.
Could your changing from Hillary Clinton have something to do with she just wasn’t good enough after a black man entered the race? Is that why all of a sudden she seemed to be some kind of emotional lunatic who thought she was entitled? I am not buying that. Hillary Clinton has done a lot for the less powerful people in this country.
I too would like good health insurance. I happen to think Hillary Clinton has the best plan. Her plan
doesn’t leave people out like Obama’s does. I too think our schools need fixing. No where have I seen or heard Hillary Clinton speak against doing something for our schools. I have heard her speak about doing something about the high cost of college tuitions.
I too am tired of this war in Iraq. I was not for this war in the first place. My nephew was in Iraq three times. He was lucky that he came home physically sound, and I hope the same for your daughter and her husband. We don’t know what kind of damage they will have emotionally.

Well we had some nice and some not so nice discussions. Hope everyone has a safe and happy Fourth of July. After all that’s what it’s all about isn’t it?

  40. Tamster on July 6th, 2008 2:04 am

    Yappy,
My apologies for not getting back to you earlier. I have been working a lot. I hope your 4th was great as well. Thanks for the kind words. I would like to continue our conversations, I truly enjoy them. We can always agree to disagree. Smile.
by the way I sense that you have a beautiful heart even though it is misguided at times. That is just my opinion now so don’t get all sensitive on me. Take care and I look forward to hearing from you REAL SOON!!!

    Tamster,
Even though it left me a little tired, I had a great 4th of July. My great-grandson was in town and my daughter and I took him to some great fireworks that were put on by the city.I did a lot of walking uphill and downhill.
I’m the person in my building that everyone comes to with their complaints. I do the e-mailing to the management company to get things fixed. I always tell them, at the management company, I know you think I am a bitch, but I am the one who actually tries to solve a problem instead of just complaining. I think I am a good person even if I do get a little intense with what I believe.

    Hello!
I think the IN-Bev takeover Of A-B is another loss of an American Company to another country. Pretty soon America will have nothing.

  44. Yappy on July 19th, 2008 2:40 am

Barack Obama is being a bit egotistical lately.
