ACLU…Testing 123! Wall of Separation Alert!

Posted on June 2, 2008

Guess who is teaching Islam at a public junior Highschool in Texas? CAIR!!! Imagine if it was Christianity being taught…what an outrage we’d hear! So, will the ACLU sue the school for breaching the “wall of separation of Church and State”? Don’t bet on it.

Kim Leago, whose son is in the eighth grade, said she’s still upset he was exposed to the “inappropriate” presentation.

“We can’t say ‘One nation under God’ in school, so I definitely don’t think (the presentation) was the right choice,” she said. “I’m not a prejudiced person … but Muslims, from what I know of the faith, don’t want to be incorporated with Americans. Look at what’s going on in the world right now, with the war and with 9/11.”

two Muslim women gave a 30-minute presentation about Islamic life as part of a yearlong study of respect, tolerance and culture

If it’s part of a broader context, it’s legit. They could have invited Christian speakers the very next day. That probably would have been a waste of time, though, because I’m sure most of the students were already well aware of Christian culture. It’s pretty hard not to notice it in this country.

You guys would have a lot more credibility if you stuck to the times where you actually had a case instead of fussing about things that are obviously legal. (not withstanding the school’s violation of district policy, which is even less of a story)
