Update 5: My friend MacRanger gets an email from a trusted source that makes him believe the tape does exist. His emailer says it’s being held until Hillary officially drops out.
Update 4: June 3rd, 2008: Bob Beckel says a big shoe, involving Michelle, will drop tomorrow.
Update 3: Million dollar reward for the tape? This is all a rumor, but if you read Michelle’s college thesis on race you will find it is most likely true.
Politico.com received a possibly redacted copy from the Obama campaign recently. The excerpts show that Obama identifies with black militancy, utterly obsessed with race in America and her own blackness. It is a fundamentally racist document, shocking when considering that this scholarship is the product of a presidential candidate’s wife at a great university.
She mourns that she will face “further integration and/or assimilation into a white cultural and social structure that will only allow me to remain on the periphery of society; never becoming a full participant.”
Update 2: NRO keeps track of the details and concludes that some kind of tape probably does exist due to left blog spin on transcripts already coming around and a separate transcript being floated around right leaning forums.
There’s another transcript floating around FreeRepublic and elsewhere that would make it hard to believe that this is a mispronunciation of “why’d he.” I have no idea where this alternative transcript comes from, and note that those who are posting it to various conservative chat rooms, etc., give no sense of where they heard it from.
An interesting point about the alternative explanation posted on Booman Tribune. Whoever felt the need to give that clarifying transcript to a liberal blog is, by that action, confirming that the tape exists.

Update: Here’s Larry Johnson’s update. If this plays out to be true, there will be a tape showing Michelle Obama and Farrakhan railing against “Whitey”! Also, a deep relationship between Obama and the Nation of Islam will be revealed. Stay tuned cuz this may not come out till October!
If this is true, Obama is toast. The rumor is that the evil Karl Rove has a copy of a tape showing Michelle Obama railing against “whitey” inside Trinity United Church and that it is being saved as the GOP’s October surprise.
New and dramatic developments. This is a heads up. I’ll post the news Monday morning by 0900 hours. Now I know why people who have seen the videotape say it is stunning. Barack’s headaches are only starting.

But if it does turn out to be true I have to ask myself just how stupid people at Trinity are.

Whether or not its true, her Princeton thesis is beyond belief in its own right.
There is no denying that the Obama`s embraced the `black liberation` (supremacist) movement that JW was preaching.. it was all in her college thesis, I am assuming years before she even met Wright.
The part about always devoting all of her resources first and foremost to the BLACK community?.. What a sad hateful person.
I hear that some republicans doctored a tape where she said “white people” and took out the “eople” so it sounds like white-p but they claim it’s whitey. Kind of like what they did with the white ni**er tape they made to try and hurt Hillary’s camp.

What tape? If Mrs. Clinton had such a tape, the media would already have it. Mrs. ClintonClinton is losing and desparate.
“Why’d he” versus “whitey.”
The peddler of this type is likely to face a huge backlash when it is debunked. That’s why the Dems want this out now so there’s time to debunk it and calm people down. That’s why the GOP wants to wait until just before the election and dump it on the undecideds.
Remember how the Rev Wright thing turned out. While the controversy did stir up the fearful red neck group, it also stirred up the far more numerous group of tolerant Americans that are tired of racial attacks. Relative to Clinton, Obama continued to improve his odds at winning the nom.
So pit a young black man against an old white man. If the GOP continues this undertone of ‘the blacks are the racists!’, they might well find themselves devastated in the long run.
Nice try, but the interrogative context is clear:
“Why’d he…” Not “Whitey.” Sheesh.
There is no tape.
If you read LJ stuff, it’s clear that he is trying his best to believe his own rumours .. and still doesn’t believe it himself.
Nobody has gone on record as having seen it (except perhaps LJ).
Nobody knows if Karl Rove, Lee Atwater or Donald Segretti have a copy of the tape, that’s only LJ spinning.
Have a good laugh .. but don’t expect any tape.
It does exist, but Larry Johnson and the Clintons had hoped the GOP would release it now… that’s the only chance that Clinton has left.
But if they hang on and release in late October, there would be little time to pick it apart.
The Dems would find the cuts and provide the actual transcript… but all of this takes time to calm folks down and present the truth. There is no time for this in late October.
If you go back to LJ’s post, he’s just got FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt). He doesn’t have a tape to show, just more hype.

What many may see as Black racism really is Black resentment. With racism comes the ability to affect power over people.
I served 20 years in the military, have a college degree and have run successful businesses. However, i know that my skin color is used to immediately judge who I am.
I am assumed to have a inferior education and obtained a college degree only because of Affirmative Action.
I am often told that I am quite “articulate”, especially because I say “ask” and not “axe”.
For the last day I have seen the number of people who fervently are waiting and hoping that this story is true.
I doubt that there is a tape and the way the story has be released it makes no difference. People will wait for the GOP to release this non-existent tape in October.
It’s almost as bad the “Obama is a Muslim” rumor.

There is clearly a double standard when it comes to racism between black and white people. I am an African American and I went to school with all white people, and they did not hesitate to use the “N” word on a regular basis. This is something that I grew accustomed to hearing, (but not tolerating) growing up in Tennessee. What I don’t understand is how it is socially acceptable for white people to say the “N” word, but as soon as a black person retaliates, or uses terms such as whitey, white people get offended. Who of you that is on this board that is white, have not used the “N” word at your leisure. Everyone has!!! So don’t act all sanctified and pure when a black woman says whitey. Like I said before, this is a HUGE double standard.
We’re not voting for the President of Goddamn KKK of America. If this tape is true, and I bet dollars to doughnuts it is, Obama is finished.
Race is still a big issue. Many Whites don’t understand Blacks and they choose not to. Kris 1908 can recite statistics about Black people but offers no other solution than to vote for McCain. Why don’t we open our ears and our hearts to try and be more understanding to our fellow American.

What I think angers so many people more is that this “uppity negro” is on the cusp of something historic and will most likely be the next President of the United States.
What is really shameful is that there are some so fearful of losing the power and influence that they will say or do anything to derail this candidacy.

I support Obama but don’t put myself in the “Obama” camp per say. I’ve been a Republican all of my political life.
This is a man that is half-white and for some reason there is a widely held perception that anyone with Black/Dark skin inherently hates Whites… But he was raised by White grandparents and a White mother. Almost all of his heritage that he learned growing up is that of his White ancestors - good and bad.
We don’t hate Whites, but we have a distain and/or resentment for what some White people have done not just to us but to all Americans of color.
What is sometimes amazing is that it took so long for a nation to rise to express it’s outrage. And some will say that the Civil War was fought to express that outrage, but it was not. It was fought to preserve the Union and it was fought by a great many who were forced into the fight greatly unwilling.
There seems to be a movement from some to forget or minimize all of things that this nation has done - “forgive and forget”
It comes in the form of such notions as “Africans really enslaved each other”, “the debt has been repaid so many times since slavery”, “Affirmative Action is reverse discrimination”, “I didn’t have any slaves…” and ad nauseum…
But one only has to remember the destruction of the Indian Nation, Slavery, Jim Crow laws, Segregation, Japanese internment,prohibitive voting laws and many other bad acts to know that America has not always reflected its high ideals.
Too many people want to remind me and others that I would not have the opportunity and the great fortune without my people having to endure what they have the past 200 years.
I am grateful for the opportunity that I have in America; however I think my family and I have both suffered for and paid for the right to be able to constructively criticize our country. A truly great nation is able to take such criticism.
Despite the willingness of some to use this and other such lies as a way to deflect or deny the great strides that Blacks have made in this country, one only has to truly look into their heart to realize that this is truly a great moment for America.
This event alone will bring new hope to hundreds of millions of people across the world who will look again at this nation with a great deal more respect and admiration than we’ve receive in several generations.

Obama did attend a MUSLIM school as a child. Whether or not this makes him a “practing muslim” is irrelevent… I was raised a catholic in a catholic family, this is not to say I am a “practicing catholic”
HOWEVER , I STILL have some weird ass catholic residue left.

I am so sick of the white black crap, destroy each other right now! I am a male and very proud of America. What we have done today is shameful and a disgrace to America. Sexism has been played against Hillary and all you fight over is the white and black thing! Do you look at your mother, sisters or daughters second class? Can you look at them and tell them they are inferior to men? Can you look into your wife’s eyes and say you are lower class than men?
Michelle Obama is a very intelligent woman. This being said, I fail to understand why she is on a panel of some sort with the likes of Louis Farrakhan, et al. It’s not said who the other participants were but this would be interesting. Obama says they only had a casual relationship with Farrakhan and were not best friends or anything. This doesn’t add up.
People seem to forget that Obama is half white as well. He can’t be running totally as a black man. He has a white mother and was raised by white grandparents in Kansas and Hawaii, but in the inner city like some would like to think. He was indoctrinated into the black community by his wife, who seems to have had a problem with race relations since at least college. Reading her college dissertation is eye-opening. She states that even considering Harvard has some of the most liberal professors in the country, she still felt like a second-class citizen and her paper screams feelings of Black (sic) versus white.
Barack joined Trinity church in 1992. He was married there in 1992, his children were baptized there, his home was blessed by this church, and the pastor was like an “uncle” to him. I wonder how he came to attend Trinity. Was it Michelle? If so, this opens up a whole laundry list of questions about her true beliefs.
Also, I don’t think he wants Hillary as VP, nor does Michelle. She seems to be the basis for many of his decisions and his advisers fill in the gaps. I for one would like to know what the “real” Barack feels about things. I have a feeling he does not want Hillary (and Bill) teaming up against him as VP and telling him what to do. If I were him, I wouldn’t want these two nipping at my heels at every turn.
If this tape exists they will wait until Hillary concedes to release it, then she can’t get Obama’s delegates and the Dems will be left with their racist (which they should already know) candidate for November.

Obama is the candidate of unity. He will bring us together. Has anyone besides me wondered how a man with the most liberal voting record in the Senate will bring people together? I could understand if McCain made such a claim since he frequently ‘breaks ranks’ with the Republicans. At least McCain has a history of compromise between left and right. Obama never compromises.
I am perplexed about the odd contradictions between accounts on this purported Michelle tape. Initially, Larry Johnson aired the rumor as a panel featuring Michelle and Minister Farrakhan at Trinity Church. Specifically
Then, we have this new version from Hillbuzz, a pro-Hilary website, the day after Obama won the delegate numbers, stating now that it was at a Rainbow Push conference, and that it was with Mrs. Farrakhan. Hillbuzz maintains this conference was held at Trinity, yet, the conference schedule clearly shows this conference was held at Sheraton Hotel. More contradictions and inconsistencies.
Furthermore, Hillbuzz names no source for this very vivid description of the video’s content. Even Larry at No Quarter made an effort to at least allude to sources who had “seen” this mythological piece.
I mean, lets think, if someone has such vivid details on this video, wouldn’t they make sure they put up the source. It goes without saying.
Then, lets go back to the location problem. Hillbuzz claims this is held at Trinity, but it was not. So the question is, how can one have so many details on content of the speech yet be so off on location and can’t distinguish between a Hotel conference room and a Church? Strange.
Then, to top it off, a very spurious connection was made between the Trinity Church DVD sales pulled off in March , somehow alleging this tape was a Trinity Church product, when in fact its a Push/Rainbow product. This means, the speech should also be available at the Rainbow website. But it isn’t.
Could one of the reasons be that Michelle Obama does not appear on the schedule as a speaker? I would assume so. Also, the only official speaker from Trinity Church, according to the official schedule, was Mr. Reginald Williams, who spoke on Tuesday June 29 at 10am.
Now in the end, all these inconsistencies and loophole make this tape allegation all the more suspicious. We’re June 4, btw, and this is the promised release date…Still no tape? Hmmm…

I was at Trinity on June 29th, 2004, and I saw the whole thing.
She started out responding to a question, but it just sort of boiled over. The crowd was in a big call-and-response mode, as is the custom of the negro race. It came to a hilt, and that’s when she totally lost it.
She called for radical violence against white people, called Bill Clinton a “racist sex-driven pig”, said AIDS was the fault of the American government.
She pulled out a green and yellow African dress, put it on, and began demanding that all panel participants call her Umfusi, screaming that Michelle was her “slave name”. She began ululating uncontrollably. She renounced her American citizenship, saying she was tired of “the man” keeping her down, and right then and there became a citizen of Liberia. Then she ran out into the street, ethnic slurs flowing from her mouth like Tsetse flies. She found the nearest white baby and began cooing at it, saying “my a massah tell me I take goo’ care you babe”, then threw it off of a bridge. She started screaming something about Uncle Tom.
Then the spear chucking began. It was horrible, horrible, all those spears being chucked. You could hardly see her shiny white smile for all the blood.
But she never said “whitey”. She said “why’d he”.

And I can see from my “perch” here in Costa Rica that so many in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America see Obama as the best choice for allowing America to regain it’s place of respect and true leadership in the world. We’ve allowed an idiot of a President to sabotage our reputation and standing.

Well, as loudly as they’re denying the tape exists and as indignant as they’re acting that the issue has even been raised, Obama and his people better pray that they’re right! If, after all their outrage, that tape surfaces in October, McCain will sweep the country.

I doubt that story about the tape is true. If the tape has really been doctored to that extent, it will be very obvious in the video. You can splice audio like that, but doing it with audio/video is another thing entirely. The Republicans aren’t that stupid.
Personally, I think that it’s no better than 50/50 that the tape exists. But based on her Princeton thesis as well as some of the other comments she’s made, as well as on the fact that she’s been a regular parishoner at Trinity United Church for many years, I have absolutely no problem whatsoever believing that she would say what she’s being quoted here as saying. To me, the only question is whether someone’s actually caught it on tape and whether the Republicans have gotten a copy of it.

Forefathers?!?!? are you kidding me? Blacks went to segregated schools up until the 60’s. If schools were segregated, how do you think blacks faired in the job market? This isn’t ancient history, but a generation ago. America has come a long way. Some blacks will talk and act like as if nothing has changed, and that is wrong. Many blacks, suffer from the works of their own hands. Yet, it is just as wrong for a white person to act as if they didn’t grow up with inherent advantages over blacks. My 40ish year old siblings were born in the colored side of hospitals. Most of those hospital workers and officials are alive and kicking. So lets not act like racism is limited to Klansmen and people who were photographed in black and white.
Every few years many Universities conduct a simple experiment. They take a black man and a white man. Both people apply for jobs with similar creditials, try to purchase a car, and rent an apartment. All experiments show that the white man gets the job, apartment, and the car for a cheaper price. Until experiments like these regularly give different results, then whites need to stop whining. If its painful to hear blacks complaining, imaging how painful it is to be held back or discriminated against.
