Murderer gets probation

AP: Plea deal in death of infant found in trash can

A Montana woman whose newborn son was found dead in a trash bin near the University of Southern California campus in 2005, pleaded no contest to child endangerment Tuesday after four attempts to charge her with murder were dismissed.

Holly Ashcraft, 23, entered the plea in Superior Court to the charge and a special allegation that the endangerment resulted in death.

Under a plea agreement, she will be sentenced June 27 to time already served - about 30 days of jail time and about 695 days of electronic monitoring. She also will be placed on five years’ probation, said

Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
Judge Kathleen Kennedy warned Ashcraft she could face up to 10 years in prison if she violates probation.

It was “a fair ending to a tragic situation,” said her attorney, Mark Geragos.

No, the fair ending would have been for this woman, who ***hello folks***, MURDERED HER CHILD, to be sitting in jail until she qualifies for AARP.

And no, this was no tragedy. The word “tragedy” is usually applied to horrible things that happen to innocent people. Figures though, that Geragos, would continue to the further perversion of our language by casting a murderer as a victim. No, this chick hasn’t “suffered enough.”

Michael Vick sits in jail for allowing dogs to be tortured to death and is the object of sustained national rage and ridicule(rightly, of course). This woman tortures a baby to death (don’t anyone dare claim that leaving a newborn in a trashcan is not torture) and gets off with probation and sympathy. In today’s America, dogs are more valuable than babies. Nice.

(Sarcastic) It’s just retroactive abortion. I bet Barack Obama could find a way to make it legal. I wonder when some defense attorney is going to use the abortion excuse and get someone off murder?

I really do expect to see these people get off one of these days on the “abortion” defense.

Anyone remember the ridicule that conservative Christians took when they dared to suggest that subjecting people to the routine and everyday murder known as abortion — and also euthenasia — would soon result in a desensitization to murder in the overall?

The children who grow up under the shadow of legalized abortion do indeed have trouble evaluating any difference.

“Murdering children seems to be ok in California. Well, it’s NOT ok with me!”

It’s probably not with the child either.

She should have been put in a trash can. It makes me sick that these women have these babies only to trash them like they are a piece of dog [edited]. Where are the babies rights at? Where is the ACLU at on this one for the Baby? I have and i am sure there are people here who have kids. To even think of the thought of putting a baby in a trash can would make me pull that persons head off and s*** down their throat! And i would not blink an eye! If this country would put the LAWS into play for murderers {DEATH PENALTY WITHOUT THE WAIT!} people would give it a second thought. But you have idiots who think an eye for an eye is not fair. Yea, well this is to you people, What the hell is fair about the baby in the trash can. Sorry for the outburst but s*** like this just makes my skin crawl!

‘Dogs more valuable than babies”? It’s been that way for a while now. Haven’t you noticed the designer clothes and food for dogs? We had a case a couple of years ago with a homeless woman and her dogs. People sent in tons of donations - for the dogs. Hardly anyone wanted to help the woman herself.

What a sick world we live in.

It’s a dog’s life. (That used to be a bad thing.) We worry about molesters living next door. What about MURDERERS? Even in our deepest concerns, are we satisfied with hoping to say something wise and catchy in a blog? Or do we actually think that enough people will say something to cause a legal reaction? Don’t the kings just laugh from their thrones? Okay, so it’s NOT right with us, what can (will) we do to change it?! As for me, I have no ideas. All I know is I, too, agree. MV is behind bars while HA and OJ (how many others?) are my neighbors. We may say the courts continue to make unjust decisions, but I would ask, isn’t illiterate a better description? Where did these people get their education? If I knew Craker Jacks was enclosing degrees, I would have consumed much more. May God bless America (and them too). Arf. Arf.

This is just the icing on the cake. This has been going on for a while, and the more it happens, the more immune to punishment the offender seems to be. When these so-called parents get busted, they know they can claim mental illness, blame it on the BHS (bushy haired stranger), blame it on the black carjacker - and most times get off. Our court system encourages this behavior: Look at Andrea Yates. Look at Dena Schlosser. Look at Lashaun Harris.

This has nothing to do with ones color of [their] skin. It has every thing to do with what’s in ones heart and soul. The court system is over run with liberals whose values are dirt! If they would just follow the law instead of [their] own agenda things would be better then what they are now. You can murder someone and get 3 to 5. That is BS. That’s why the crime wave will continue to [spiral] out of control.
And the media is another tank that just puts fuel on the fire by making these people sound like they are the victims. These people who do this to [their] own kids are no better then the terrorists. All life, no matter how big or small, Human or not, all have a right to live. How does one live with themselves after throwing a baby in the garbage? These people, the Murders, Child Molesters, Baby killers etc… are nothing more but EVIL and nothing will change them.
