OK. This is just sick! Found via Moonbattery the latest in downfall of America.
Parents of a third-grade student at Chatham Park Elementary School approached the administration on April 16 to ask for help in making a “social transition” for their child.
The Haverford School District consulted experts on transgender children, then sent letters to parents advising them that the guidance counselor would meet with the school’s 100 third-grade students to explain why their classmate would now wear girls’ clothes and be called by a girl’s name.
How inclusive of them to be so “tolerant” of the gender confused. Shouldn’t they have a special class for this kid and a special padded room for the parents?
With help from moonbatty parents and educrats, childhood gender delusions can be nurtured into full-blown psychoses. The kid had better go into a lucrative profession, because he’s going to have hefty psychiatrist bills for the rest of his life.-
On BTR the other day I was listening to a very well-spoken woman from the midwest lament the fact that she has to teach her kids math and reading, while the public schools are busy “socializing” them and molding them into leftists, teaching them to ignore their fuddy duddy parents, and teaching them that religion is no longer fashionable. She expressed what I’d never thought about, but really hit me after she pointed it out: the public schools have their job mixed up. It should be parents who are teaching their kids about morality, not schools. And it should be schools that are teaching the basics of education - like math and reading.
But I could never imagine in my wildest dreams that parents would actually come out and ask a school to help their child to be transgendered; particularly at the tender age of 9.
Stacy had said that a basic part of child development is that children identify with the same sex until they become adolescents. We shouldn’t interfere with that, and we shouldn’t be using that natural part of child development as a reason to force homosexuality onto kids.

I would love to have heard how they explained to the children why they dressed them in girls close and called them by girl’s name. Just another reason to get are kids out of public school for the reason of sending the wrong messages and who knows what else goes on behind the school doors. This is why kids these days are out of controls with stuff like this and the schools jumping on drugging kids with ADHD so they and the doctors can get government grants. It’s all about Money and nothing about education! They do a paper test as a way of testing the kids that has no scientific backing what so ever. And the drugs cause enlarged hearts in kids but the doctors play dumb about it. I know my daughter has ADHD so they say. But when I asked for a brain scan o no we can’t do that. It may risk her in getting cancer down the road. And asked to check her heart on every checkup and was told not medically needed. But when I mentioned government grant they was shocked that I knew…lol Sorry for being off topic.
This simply has to be an urban legend. There is no way that there exist people in this world that are this absolutely stupid.

Can You Decide Sexual Orientation Before Puberty?…
How can you tell if you’re transgendered or even homosexual years before puberty? Maybe I just don’t understand the whole homosexual thing. My first reaction to this is that it’s the ultimate in spoiling a child…
Of course you know you’re transsexual before puberty. Sometimes as early as 3, usually by age 7, almost always by age 10. It depends on how much socialisation you do with other children. The more, the earlier you know.
You know because you think like one gender, and look like the other. It has nothing to do with sex or sexual orientation. It has all to do with instincts, and mannerisms, communication abilities, eye-hand co-ordination. All the things that neurological tests show are different between boys and girls. You may not be able to articulate the differences, you just know which gender you are, as do all kids by that age. It may take a while to be sure, there are tomboys and “sensitive boys”, but really, you know fairly quickly whether you prefer GI Joe or Barbie.
I was always a tomboy, and that was quite convenient since I looked male. My favourite toy car was Lady Penelope’s Pink Rolls Royce though, that should have been a dead giveaway. I spent most of my time trying to conceal my secret, trying to be the best boy any girl could be. As you do, or rather, as you did back then. Doing otherwise could get you killed. “Radiologists can now confirm what transsexuals report - that they feel “trapped in the wrong body” - on the basis of the activation of the brain when presented with erotic stimuli. There is obviously a biological correlation with the subjective feelings.”
I suggest you go read a good book on the medical science behind the subject. I can recommend the “Praeger Handbook of Transsexuality” by Heath, ISBN-13: 978-0275991760 , as a good encyclopedia for both layperson and medical professional.

Male and Female brains differ, both on the coarse scale (BSTc layer of the hypothalamus) and fine scale (number of neurons - brain cells - in each structure). Autopsies on transsexual women, that is, women with mostly male bodies, have shown they have female pattern brains.
Note that gay men have male pattern brains though.
The best book though to understand transsexual people when they are children is “True Selves” by Brown and Rounsley, ISBN-13: 978-0787967024

Oh yes, just to make it clear: technically, I’m not transsexual. In 1985, the diagnosis based on the technology of the time was that I was a mildly Intersexed male. It came as a surprise when the diagnosis was changed in 2005 by using 21st century technology (ultrasounds, MRI etc) to severely Intersexed female. I though that I was just transsexual, but one of those few able to cope with it.
By that time I was unable to pass as male though, just a particularly plain looking rather menopaused woman. A natural change, rare, but it happens. I started hormonal and surgical treatment shortly thereafter to speed up the natural change and stabilise the result.
It’s led to some interesting social and legal problems, as you can imagine. Legal systems are barely able to cope with transsexuals, let alone weird cases like mine.
There are few words to communicate the internal conflict generated by gender dysphoria and the impact it has on an individual’s life. This child is suffering and the parents are doing what they can to relieve the child’s discomfort … often the feelings result in self-harm and suicidal ideation … how can you condemn the parents (or the child) without knowing any details? All of the transexuals I know have firmly established their gender as children and those that have transitioned, whether as children or adults, are at peace and finally comfortable in their own skin for the first time in their lives.

Probably because, like many people, you’re confusing gender identity and sexual orientation. They aren’t the same things. And everything I’ve read says that most transgendered people are aware of the mismatch between their internal gender and what they were typed as long before puberty.
Here’s a thought experiment: What if people threatened to beat and torture you unless you switched genders? You might go along with it if the only alternative was to be beaten and tortured, but you would know what your gender is, no matter what people forced you to wear and do. And it’s pretty likely that you’d spend the rest of your life in misery.
One clarification about this situation too. There’s no question of hormonal treatment or surgery being offered to a 9 year old, as some appear to believe.
If the condition persists, the child may be offered gonadotrophins when puberty starts to hit. These put the puberty in “deep freeze” until the child is old enough to be reasonably deemed responsible enough to make their own decisions.
I met just such a girl in Thailand not that long ago. She’d been living in a female gender role since age 8, unable to do the “boy act” convincingly at any time in her life. She’d been on gonadotrophins since 14, and had surgery the day before her 18th birthday. It was a relief from embarrassment for her, rather than any great drama. The correction of a fortunately private disfigurement. She regretted not being able to be a biological parent, but as she could never have given birth anyway, didn’t see adoption as being too bad.
Her mum and I are of similar vintage, and we got on like a house on fire. Both middle-aged parents, you see. Bringing up a spectacularly beautiful blonde teenage daughter is hard, the transsexual history is just icing on the cake.

Amazing, really. This news story should be Exhibit 1 in a guardianship petition by the state. An adult needs to get a handle on this situation - and given that you have a 9 year old pre-pubescent child, this sounds far more like a parental problem of epic proportions than the considered, mature decision that a child of that age could make. This kids life is truly going to be hell in school. This is one where the state needs to step in.

A BOY of 10 has been found hanged at his South Yorkshire home after telling his mum he wanted to be a girl.
Cameron McWilliams had already asked for permission to wear make-up, and been teased after he was found wearing his half-sister’s knickers.
His desperate mum Kelly McWilliams told a Doncaster inquest she had bought him girls’ underwear to wear in private, but had refused his requests to be allowed to wear make-up.
She said: “It was apparent he was unhappy and said he wanted to be a girl. He did like girls’ things.”
That’s what happens more often than not. Over 50% of transgendered children self-harm before age 20 if unable to transition. (source: Scottish Office, UK).
My bet is that the kid’s life is already hell at school. It usually is for TS kids, whether they transition or not. They don’t move like their peers, they don’t think like their peers, they don’t act like their peers.
For Gay kids, the time of danger is after puberty, when they start being different. But TS kids have already had 6 or more years of being different by then, those that live that long. Girls are particularly at risk.
GW, what on earth would the state do? I can’t believe that we’d find such “progressive” “Nanny State knows best” views from someone who’s ostensibly on the right.
This is an act of desperation on the parents’ part. They know the facts, they’ve seen the figures, and they prefer a live daughter than a dead son. I’ve talked to parents in a similar situation.

This is where a psych boasts of his success in “treating” a boy who was mutilated in a botched circumcision at the age of 2 months, into becoming a relatively functional, somewhat bisexual, sterile, extremely butch lesbian. This is counted as a “success”.
He doesn’t mention a more famous case, that of David Reimer, where the patient committed suicide when given similar treatment. Or the thousands of Intersexed people in similar situations who have been allowed to grow up successfully in the gender role they know is appropriate for them, even if their genitalia doesn’t match societal expectations.
Gender is set natally. And sometimes it’s set wrong. The only successful treatment in such circumstances, with an 80-98% success rate depending on the quality of care, is transition. You might find that distasteful, threatening even, but those are the facts determined by examination of thousands of cases over several decades. There’s 280 papers on it on PubMed alone.
Let’s leave it to the Moonbats to ignore medical facts and intervene “for the good of society”, over-riding parental judgement and endangering the child just to meet their own prejudices, shall we?
So some 9 year old kid wants to wear girl’s cloths and convinced her parents to let her live as a girl.
Explain to me why this bothers you? Explain to me why this is a problem? Less than 1% of those that have “the surgery” regret it, so it can’t be you think the kid is wrong about what makes her happy.
Give the kid a break.
Kids have a better handle on who they are at a young age than we do later in life, after we become more astutely aware of what society accepts and doesn’t accept. While I can understand a non-trans person seeing trans people as conflicted, their only conflict is that society disagrees with their sense of self. No one chooses to be trans. I didn’t as a child think, when I grow up I want to be transgender. The uneducated think its a better idea to force kids into some predetermined box where they will suffer a life time rather than let them be who they are and enjoy life.

Conformity is what makes this nation great, amirite?
Although I understand why the uninformed have the view they do of this, the fact is they are uninformed, or mis-informed. If they want to jump into the discussion then they really should educate themselves on the subject matter first. As Zoe pointed out, there is plenty of information to access if one is really interested in the facts, as opposed to just spouting off what they believe to be true.

This is a 9 year old!!! He is not capable of understanding the situation, while these trusted adults are encouraging him to act like a girl! I pray that the confusion they cause will not drive him to the early death that they are attempting to prevent.

Clearly the 9 year old, her parents and educators understand far more of the situation than the many of you will ever understand; If she is driven to an early death it will be because of the bigoted parents and their brainwashing of intolerant children who, if they don’t beat her to death will likely try to get her to do it herself.
Actually, it is completely a part of child development to relate to people of the same sex throughout childhood.
It doesn’t mean you’re a transsexual.
It isn’t until about 12 or 13 years of age that normal children become interested in people of the opposite sex.
