Operation Chaos in PA?

Posted on April 21, 2008

As soon as I saw this at Politico I thought the same thing as Jammie Wearing Fool. Could this be a massive deployment of Rush Limbaugh’s operation Chaos?

According to the Secretary of State’s office, since January about 217,000 new voters have registered for the April 22 primary, the vast majority of whom signed up as Democrats.

In Philadelphia, by far the state’s largest city, more than 12,000 new Democrats were added to the rolls in the final week before the March registration deadline, compared to just 509 Republicans.

That statewide Democratic surge has been accompanied by a flood of party-switching. More than 178,000 voters have changed their party status since January — and the Democrats have captured 92 percent of those voters.

In Delaware County, a Philadelphia suburb once home to a storied Republican machine, nearly 14,000 voters have switched their party affiliation to Democratic since January compared to just 768 who became Republicans.

Those party-switchers now represent about 7 percent of the roughly 2 million Democratic voters expected to turnout Tuesday, said Madonna.

Jammie Wearing Fool:

It sure as hell isn’t a bunch of Republicans who magically woke up one morning and decided they’re Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton fans.

Indeed…not in those kinds of numbers.

It sure as hell isn’t a bunch of Republicans who magically woke up one morning and decided they’re Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton fans.

    Is it a closed primary?
They could very easily be disaffected Republicans that had no reason to officially switch until now.

If you don’t see similar numbers switching back after the primary, be afraid. Be very afraid.

I expect a big “Operation Chaos” turnout here in PA.

But give credit where credit is due.

Governor Ed Rendell (D-PA) started the current trend by telling Democrats in 2004 to switch to vote in the Republican primary to make sure that conservative Pat Toomey didn’t beat Arlen Specter, then switch back in time for the general election. Given that the Democratic nomination for POTUS was already Kerry’s by the time the PA primary came around, there wasn’t that much form them to lose by doing the dual switch .. and it’s completely legal.

I would like to see how many “switch-backs” happen between now and the eligibility deadline before the general election. Then you will know what to be afraid of.

How effective is Rush Limbaugh’s “Operation Chaos”? Claiming credit today in having Republicans cross over and vote for Hillary. He said his hope is to have Hillary get the superdelegates to take the election from Obama at the convention to create RIOTS, across the country, CAR BURNING etc. How can an American aim to create blood shed and rioting in the streets of America? Please please call him out on this. For someone to openly claim to be promoting stuffing the ballot to create civil unrest cannot be tolerated.
    Thank you,

i have to say that i very proud to be an operative fighting on behalf of operation chaos.

Notice: no person who has taken place in operation chaos has to switch back for the general election. you can vote for who ever you want to.

and i certainly would never vote for either one of those two socialist. and i seriously doubt that any other conservative would either.

    sorry:(

What about Republicans in this Democratic primary?

Our party has chosen their candidate … John McCain. This has led many folks to believe that their Republican vote can be used in the Democratic primary to select the candidate they believe will be the easiest to beat in the General election.

Do not sell your vote cheaply. Our election system is only as honorable as our electors and when you give up your vote to play a game … our country loses. Our elections become deliberate, false representations if you give up your vote dishonestly.

I have spoken with Republicans who have changed their registration (right here in North Carolina, maybe in Indiana) in an attempt to provoke an outcome favorable to their Republican candidate.

Shame on you … what a travesty to give your children and your country. Any vote is only meaningful if the voter is honest.

I am a registered Republican … I am basically pretty conservative. But, I will vote for Barack Obama in the general if he is the Democratic nominee … I personally believe that we need a total “game-change” in Washington D.C.

However, I will not change my lifelong basic beliefs to play a game with my vote in this primary. It’s a matter of pride … for me and for my country.

Barack Obama Is An Honest Man

If there is one positive thing I can say about Barack Obama is that he is an honest man. He wants to change the game in Washington and want change in America. He means it. Here’s some of the changes I think we will see if Obama becomes President:
    Take Home Pay
If you are a hard-working, responsible American, especially if you have a family and both parents work, Obama will change your take-home pay, by rising the taxes on your income, your capital and your retirement.
If you are un-employed, irresponsible, lazy and have a general entitlement mentality, Obama will promise to raise your take-home pay by taxing the rich and funneling millions into failed social programs.
    The Price of Gasoline
Actually change here is likely to stop. Obama is very likely to freeze gasoline and other energy prices in an effort to attack the profits of energy providers and placate those who feel big oil is an enemy of the state. Unfortunately what will change, is that the supply will dwindle, and although you may be able to buy a gallon of gas for $3, there won’t be much of it around to buy.
    The Environment
Obama is going to be an environmental crusader-science be damned. No doubt about it. His global warming policies are going to change life in America. Most of us who run profitable small businesses today, because we have responsible, economically viable environmental policies, will probably go out of business. Food prices will skyrocket and supply will dwindle, because the economic ecosystems that support our food supply will crash, and it will be Obama’s Carbon Footprint policies that do the crushing.

Obama is a SOCIALIST. Socialism feels like a good thing, but it has failed miserably whenever it has be tried and ruined many a society and country. The only ones that benefit from Socialism are the elites who cling to power at the expense of the people. Obama is an honest man. He will bring change. Unfortunately, change for the worst.
