6 Teenage Girls Beat Another Girl, Just To Film It For The Internet- Updated with Video

Posted on April 8, 2008

In a case the police call “shocking”, six teenage girls attack another 16 year old girl and beat her severely, just so they could video tape it and post it on the Internet.

On March 30, 2008, the victim, 16 year old Victoria Lindsay, was lured to a home in Lakeland, Florida and when she arrived, two girls started yelling at her, one girl began beating her and slamming her head into a wall until she fell unconscious.

When she awoke on the counch, there were six girls, in total, beating on her and they were video taping the attack.

According to police, all the girls that were attacking the victim, Victoria Lindsay, were laughing and urging each other one and two boys were outside standing guard.

All eight of those involved have been charged with felony battery and false imprisonment.

After the attack, three of the teenagers forced the victim into a car and drove her to another location and additional felony kidnapping charges have been leveled against them.

The 16 year old victim of the attack suffered a concussion as well as damage to her left eye and left ear, and numerous bruises.

The video and a transcript of the incident will be released early this week according to Scott Wilder, a sheriff’s spokesman.

Polk Sheriff Grady Judd describes the attack and the video as “shocking”, saying, “I’ve never seen anything like it… this is outrageous behavior.”

In another report on this incident, the attackers are described as cheerleaders as portions of what was said on the video, where a girl’s voice is heard yelling “There is only 17 seconds left; make it good.”

Local 6 is reporting that Victoria Lindsay can no longer see well out of one eye and hear from one ear.

The Orlando Sentinel has the video of the attack.

The names of those charged are:

Mercades Nichols, 16, of Lakeland, Brittini Hardcastle, 17, of Lakeland, April Cooper, 14, of Lakeland, Cara Murphy, 16, of Lakeland, Britney Mayes, 17, of Lakeland, Kayla Hassell, 15, of Mulberry, Zachary Ashley, 17, of Lakeland, and Stephen Schumaker, 18, of Lakeland.

Before radical feminism reared its ugly head, I recall Margaret Mead the antropoligist saying that we should never allow women into the military because they were much too vicious.

  2. Red Five on April 8th, 2008 1:42 pm

But of course the punishment will never fit the crime. Meaning the victim won’t be able to beat the hell out of any of her attackers.

    I hope she heals well.

  3. T F Stern on April 8th, 2008 3:10 pm

Let’s not jump to conclusions, perhaps these young people were simply doing some research work for a remake performance, Lord of the Flies. “Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!” They needed to get into character, you know, vent some pure hatred toward another human being, watch the sheer terror in her eyes knowing her tormentors could or probably would kill her just to watch her bleed and listen to her screams.

  4. shunha7878 on April 8th, 2008 3:15 pm

What will happen to the girls (and boys) depend on how much money their Dad has. No money, jail time. If Dad’s rich, girls go free.

  5. OMMAG on April 8th, 2008 7:28 pm

As outrageous as this episode is it seems to me that the only correct response is to NOT be spreading the video around!

  6. Katie08 on April 8th, 2008 8:09 pm

This is pathetic. What? Do you six biatches think your all that just cause you UNFAIRLY gained up on Victoria? That just shows your pussies and can’t fend for yourselves.I hope you all rot in hell.

  7. Susan on April 8th, 2008 8:11 pm

I understand the anger, I felt it too while writing this. These girls should be tried as adults. No question about it.

  8. Casey09 on April 8th, 2008 8:49 pm

this is just stupid i cant believe people act like this now a days obviously these girls parents dont give a crap about what there children are doing i hope they have to pay LARGE sums of money to this poor girl for what they did to her!

  9. Lindsay on April 8th, 2008 8:51 pm

This is completely outrageous. If that was my daughter, I’d get the best lawyer in the state of Florida and sue those families until they were living in cardboard boxes.

  10. Gary Miller on April 8th, 2008 8:57 pm

I am pissed off so much at this behavior. For God’s sake, they could have killed this girl! And hell, they don’t even show remorse for what they did, or even say “Ha! At least I did something about it.” This just shows how vicious people can be. I just didn’t think girls would go this far…man, they need to go away for a long time…Boot Camp or some hard time in prison should suit them all well.

  11. Coco on April 8th, 2008 11:00 pm

This is crazy. For these girls to jump Victoria like that over a comment she posted. Well I’m posting this one, yall are some dumb asses come beat my ass. They are all cowards. And the parents of these children should watch that and be disgusted at the animals they are raising because the can’t be human. They should be tried as adults and put in prison with some real hard core women prisoners and the same thing should happen to them. I hope they throw the book at them and if these kids get off the justice system will be sending a terrible message to all teenagers saying this is okay. This really pisses me off. Stupid COWARDS

  12. Jamelah on April 9th, 2008 11:17 am

It saddening to watch these girls beat on that girl like that. The worse part about this situation is there will probably be no real consequences for these teenagers. I’m sure their parents will bail them out of this trouble and they will get in some type of trouble again later because they didn’t learn this time. I hate to bring up race in this matter, on second thought I don’t; If they were all BLACK they would be locked under the jail. I feel bad for the girl who was beat, but she has to know, although she to is white, because they are also white this will probably be a small little misdeminor on their records and they will go on for the rest of their lives. What should happen is they should all get the maximum sentence possible , they should have to live with this following them around for at least the next 10 years. They will be at a stand-still in life because of the BIG MISTAKE they made as teenagers. Then after going through life with this weight on their shoulders they may be remorseful for what they’ve done to that girl.
I hope none of these teens have children any time soon.

  13. RCM on April 9th, 2008 11:31 am

It is simple. Parents these days dont teach their kids write from wrong. They give them money and sit them in front of televisions.

My wife is a teacher and I have alot of law enforcement officers for friends. They all say the same thing. Kids dont respect authority and think they can get away with anything. They think there are no consequences for their behavior and actions.

I would like to see some of the parents of these kids interviewed. I want to see what they have to say.

    Punishment is simple.
    A. Parents of kids should pay the daughters family money for medical bills and emotional damage.

    B. Parents should be held responsbile for their kids actions.

    C. The kids need their asses beaten severally like they do in other countries. A beating that leaves scares to remind them of their mistake they made.

Finally this crap is not going to go away just get worse. It all evolves around parents not doing their job and morality fading fast. Truely sad, I dread the day I have kids because I know they will have to live in a world like this!

  14. GlassWishes on April 9th, 2008 11:36 am

More violence is not the answer. YouTube and MySpace are not the ones to point fingers at. God does not need to be brought into this situation, not everyone is Christian. Now…what needs to be done is the parents need to reevaluate how they’ve raised their children. Society as a whole needs to give some thought to why the generations coming up seem so detached from reality, have no respect for their fellow human beings and no value for life. My daughter is 21, not so far removed from the ages of these girls…AND she went to a very rough public school (sorry, not a rich parent to afford otherwise)..but she NEVER considered using violence against another teenager or in school. Why? I talked to her, constantly. I showed concern and caring for her day to day life. I gave her alternatives to her problems, other than violence. We as parents need to remember what that word means. We are the guides, the true LIFE teachers. Yes, they learn from their peers, but they should also have a good relationship with us, their parents, and know that what we tell them is the better wisdom. I will add that I did not give up my parental right to corporal punishment, a few swats on the rear do alot to teach our children the consequences of bad decisions and actions. My daughter does not hate me or blame me for those swats either. It is our job, as parents, to watch and safeguard our children. To keep them from being victims and perpetrators. Also, children should not be having children, again a failing on the parents part.
My daughter is now a Medical Assitant, a beautiful young woman with a generous wonderful heart. Granted, she has moments of being angry, but she’s learned to confront that which angers her intellifently and non-violently. She’s not rich, in fact, she lives in a fairly dubious neighborhood, she’s independent and does her best to stand on her own two feet and is engaged to be married because she’s wants to be, not because she’s pregnant. I am extremely proud of my daughter and she is who she is because of the parenting she received from myself, her grandmother, her grandfather (rest his soul) and a few others that were in her life.

  15. Rickyj on April 9th, 2008 1:00 pm

As a parent of a 14yo daughter this video really made me nervous, to think that someone’s daughter was beat like that. If that was my daughter that was beat, I’d be in jail, because I would have gone to each of the girls fathers and beat the living snort out of each and every one of them. I hope those a__hole girls wind up behind bars for a little contemplation… idoits.

  16. Kenneth on April 9th, 2008 1:38 pm

I know how terrible this is and its outrages to see how sick and twisted people can be..
But this is a great chance for USA to show that this kind of behavior is not accepted and a chance to set an example to other teenagers and “kids”.

Those girls should be punished like adults and given the full punishment they would get if they wore 18 or older. They could have easily killed that poor child for the love of god!

So to the police that are on this case you know what you have to do right!??!

Should charge them with attempted murder and kidnapping!!

  17. krissy on April 9th, 2008 2:02 pm

This is the reason kids go to school and shoot people

  18. Sunny on April 9th, 2008 2:34 pm

This makes no sense that tose girls could beat up on that girl like that. I feel sorry for her and when I was watching the video I felt her pain and I wanted to do something about it but could. The consequences for the kids probably ain’t gonna hurt them but they need to give what they deserve and treat them like aldults.

  19. Gabby on April 9th, 2008 3:36 pm

this is crazy. how could these kids do this. they must not realize the consequences. and they must not not realize what they have done to this girl. i think that they should all be tried as adults. because what they did to that girl makes my skin crawl.

  20. Teagan on April 9th, 2008 3:42 pm

I can honestly say I am disgusted to be called a teenager after watching the behavior of these horrible people.
I do hope that the group of girls are punished as Adults. There is no reason for this type of behavior, especially over trash talk on myspace.

I hope that Victoria heals well and that she never goes this again. My prayers are with her.

  21. joel redd on April 9th, 2008 4:03 pm

well i concur with the father, the states have taken the firm hand out of the home, now we have more teenage murders, and crime becouse we cant get that fear back in them, putting them in the corner, or taking playstation away dont do a thing we need the old school way back. get the fear of the ass whipping back into the children the they will be on point..

  22. John on April 9th, 2008 4:10 pm

They are old enough to know right from wrong and therefore should be tried as adults. Hopefully receiving the maximum penalty.

Then the owners of the house this was video taped in should be sued by the victim for everything they have, as punishment for their failure as parents.

  23. Casey on April 9th, 2008 4:36 pm

How come those savages are not being charged with attempted murder or something? they all need be charged as adults too. This is ridiculous.

  24. Danny on April 9th, 2008 5:01 pm

I think that the fact that I am 17 and i wouldn’t want nobody jumping on me applies to to any and everyone what those girls did was down right dirty, but me being me think that all those girls need to be put up to the test if you bold enough to beat up on one girl test the water and see just what they are about because only dumb people do stuff like that!!!!!and it makes me sick to see that somebody else would put they hands on another person’s child.

  25. Susan Holmes on April 9th, 2008 6:03 pm

Lock up the six girls and throw away the key for six months, too bad they’ll have to miss chearleading practice, who cares!, that was an aggregious act that should be punished

  26. martha jones on April 9th, 2008 6:47 pm

the moment these six (i would never call them young ladies)females put their hands on another they gave themselves over to be tried as adults, im afraid that because it may be their first offense they will get no more than probation and probably their parents will be sued to the hilt since they are responsable for raising these criminals, yes they are criminals.it shouldnt matter or not that they are rich, poor, race or gender they must be held accountable for their actions. one only has to watch the nightly news to hear of teenagers across the nation beating, robbing and killing each other and others, some for gain others just for the thrill of it..some how some where society has to get a handle on this growing terror. should those little criminals recieve a second chance NO they didnt give their victim any mercy so they should not recieve any . “do unto others as you would have done unto you”

  27. Christina on April 9th, 2008 7:19 pm

I am only 19 years old myself and to watch something like this totally breaks my heart. There is no reason for what these girls did to this one individaul let me repeat that one individual. These girls should be charged with kidnapping, attempted murder, indangerment and invasion of privacy for the pursuited posting of this horrible video. All eight of these children should be charged to the fullest extent if we want to reach out to our youth. This kind of behavior cannot go on! This is pure proof right here of dangerous criminal behavior! How will they act in the future if things dont go their way! These are murderers in the making. Their parents as well should be charged to the full extent of not taking responsibility for their children and should pay every penny to victoria and they need to pay for her college too!!!!! For Victoria i hope you recover well. There is no reason for you to have gone through what you did and i pray for your well being. Live life with your head up. Let this impact your life by making you stronger. Your a beautiful individual who will have a story to tell that will impact many lives. I hope kids around the world can grow from this and learn from this horrible act.

  28. gina on April 9th, 2008 8:08 pm

wow what a bunch of losers. Really its disgusting how big of losers these girls are. ..how many skanks does it take to beat up 1 person…6??? PLEASE if you know these girls punch them in the face as hard as you can because god knows someone needs to. If i lived there i would. I mean what a bunch of pu**ies. So much so that it takes 6 of them to take 1 girl ..are you guys that weak??Apparently so.Thats the image that they are setting for themselves. They will probably grow up to be hookers anyways.

  29. mardi on April 9th, 2008 9:25 pm

i have been watching american idol gives back they showed a 15 yr old african teenager who is raising his 3 little brothers alone , no money, little food no electricity, no i-pods, cars, cell phones and yet it came to me what his deceased parents gave him that we who give our kids everything they could possibly want it was and is “honor” thats what these kids lack and have none of and maybe thats where parents are failing..these 6 girls who probably have everthing they want and yet have no problem hurting another and so it seems no remorse not only lack honor but i fear even may lack souls

  30. Jorge on April 9th, 2008 9:25 pm

People like this should be dead. Quit breathing my air you no good wastes of space. May you rot in hell you white trash pieces of sh*t.

  31. Dzanela Muminovic on April 9th, 2008 9:39 pm

I agree with the rich father comment: if daddy has money the girls go free. Its sad but true. What angers me so much is when they are laughing in the shierffs office, asking if they can go to cheerleading practice tomorrow?! Are you kidding me? By being so carefree, they have shown everyone what they truley are: a bunch of bored, jealous girls who like sitting in the attention and having everyone watching them. TF Stern, i completley agree. Nicley said.

They should be tried as adults, without a doubt.

  32. 3V@ on April 9th, 2008 10:44 pm

JUST WATCHING THIS MAKES ME SO MAD…. I TRUELLY THINK THEY SHOULD BE TRIED AS AN ADULT I MEAN THEY WERE FULLY AWARE OF WHAT THEY WERE DOING…. WOW IM ONLY 17 AND EASLY TEMPERED BUT OVER A STUPID COMMENT ON MYSPACE THATS JUST DUMB… I WAS TOUGHT SINCE I WAS REAL SMALL TO NEVER DO ANYTHING TO SOMEONE THAT YOU WOULDN’T WANT DONE TO YOU… I THINK SHE SHOULD HAVE FOUGHT BACK CUZ IF IT WAS ME I WOULD HAVE… THATS JUST SO WRONG THERE SUPPOSE TO BE HER FRIEND…THAT SHOWS U CANT TRUST WHO YOU HANG WITH….
    I HOPE SHE GETS BETTER…
AND I HOPE THAT THOSE GIRLS PAY FOR WHAT THEY DID TO HER……..

  33. Tammy Lindsey on April 10th, 2008 11:03 am

When I was young they taught us in Kindergarden KEEP YOUR HANDS AND FEET TO YOURSELF. EVERY ONE OF THESE GIRLS SHOULD NEVER BE TRUSTED WITH A CHILD FOR WHAT KIND OF MOTHERS IN OUR SOCIETY WILL THEY BE. TO ME THEY ARE ARE MENTALLY ILL AND THEY SHOULD BE LOCKED UP. THEY KNEW RIGHT FROM WRONG. THE PARENTS SHOULDN’T BE PUNISHED THESE GIRLS AND GUYS ARE LUCKY THEY DID NOT KILL THAT POOR GIRL. IF THEY ARE THAT VIOLENT THEN KEEP THEM LOCKED UP WE DON’T NEED THEIR KIND ON OUR STREETS THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE, VERBAL OR PHYSICAL…

  34. Tammy Lindsey on April 10th, 2008 11:24 am

TO THE YOUNG GIRL LINDSEY REMEMBER VENGENCE BELONGS TO THE LORD AND TRUST ME I HAVE PRAYED FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY PUT THEM ALL IN GODS HANDS. STAY AWAY FROM ALL OF THOSE NEGATIVE LOOSERS. THEY HAVE ALL MADE COMPLETE FOOLS OF THEMSELVES..YOU WILL BLOSSOM FROM THIS. I HAVE BEEN BEATEN IN DOMESTIC VIOLENT RELATIONSHIPS AND WHAT THE LAW DOESN’T DO TRUST ME GOD WILL…THEY SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER..YOU
KEEP YOUR CHIN UP IF ALL THE PARENTS HAVE TO PAY FINE BUT ALL THOSE INVOLVED SHOULD BE PUNISHED..THE CHEERLEADER HA I WOULDN’T WANT HER CHEERIN IN MY SCHOOL. THEY HAVE ALL PROVED TO BE COMPLETELY INSANE..WHO WILL BE NEXT THEIR OWN KIDS THEY HAVE NO HEARTS THEY ARE SICK PEOPLE…I DON’T CARE WHAT KIND OF FAMILY THEY COME FROM PUT THEM ALL AWAY FOR A GOOD LONG TIME BUT ONCE AN ABUSER ALWAYS AN ABUSER THEY WOULD ALL HAVE TO SPEND THE REST OF THEIR LIVES IN COUNSELING…THEY ARE UGLY INSIDE AND OUTSIDE…AND I PRAY FOR JUSTICE THAT EACH OF THEM PAY DEARLY FOR WHAT THEY DONE…TOTALLY SICK AND INSANE AND WE DON’T NEED THEM IN OUR SOCIETY THAT WHY WE HAVE PRISONS..I AM PRAYING THEY ARE TRIED AS ADULTS YOU DON’T HIT ANYONE…I AM SO MAD. THANK GOD YOU ARE ALIVE AND IF THAT VIDIEO STAYS ON THE WEB THEN THE PEOPLE WHO PLAY IT OR SUPPORT IT ARE JUST AS SICK AS THE ONES INVOLVED IN THE BEATING!!!!

  35. john on April 10th, 2008 1:38 pm

If this was done to my daughter it would be very hard for me not to see to it these same things were done to each of the six if they ever see the light outside of a prison again. Our society is failing. It seems to me that todays youth lack respect for authority, elders, and themselves. I haven’t heard yet they the six have been charged with attempted murder but I think that they need to be. This is horrible!

  36. Rita on April 10th, 2008 2:30 pm

Another thing, besides parents, etc. that I truly think contributes to this sort of behavior is the glorification of girls/young women beating the crap out of each other on several reality shows (Bad Girls Club, Rock of Love, Flavor of Love to name a few). They jump each other, hit, scratch, urinate into each other’s food (no joke - Bad Girls Club!), curse like sailors, throw drinks into each other’s faces, etc. And this is supposed to be entertainment? Young girls must watch this stuff and are probably intrigued by it. Apparently, it’s cool to be a bad a#@ AND to videotape it for posterity. I’ve seen “The Soup” make fun of these shows, and can’t believe the clips they show. Sickening.

  37. Jasmine on April 10th, 2008 4:16 pm

Everyone come to reality! This girl is deaf in one ear and blurred version, what if this was you. It’s not a joke and whoever did this, deserves time and maybe a nice beating as well.

  38. Jasmine on April 10th, 2008 4:20 pm

These girls deserve a long time in prison and a good beating too! F*** their cheerleading pratice! It’s not a joke! Hahah these girls think they post on myspace and think they will be rewarded! Karmas going to bite them in the a**

  39. Calteen on April 10th, 2008 6:44 pm

Theres no doubt that what the girls did isnt justified. although I would really like to know what the real reason was. what did the victom do to provoke the attackers. BUt i see stuff like this all the time. this isnt surpising. ive seen this happen first hand for a long time. theses are crazy times. and The fact that parents blame myspace or youtube is redic. its not the internets fault the internet doesnt send messages to theses kids and tell them ” BEAT YOUR FRIEND AND POST IT ONLINE.” the internet shouldnt be a scape goat the parents of the attacker and victom should take the responsibility and say you know what. hey i should have raised my kid better.but hey who am i to talk i just have been in the same situation my self.

  40. Kelli Altom on April 11th, 2008 12:10 am

You know what is so horrible is that our country wont punish these girls. They will probably spend at most a few months in jail and be let go. We reward criminals and ignor the victims man I really love this country sometimes (sarcasm)

I hope that girl is heals and dosn’t have any lasting damage. And I hope thoes other girls die slow painfull deaths!!!! d.t..es

  41. Nikita on April 11th, 2008 12:27 pm

ok. well first lets start off. How in the hell do grown ass people [the girl's parents]
blame it on Facebook and Myspace. I mean come on Now grow some balls and learn how to be an adult and take responsibility for you and your children. These girls disgust me,and as do their parents. and a GAG order? are you kidding me? this is rediculas!! Sherriff Brady was wright. Those girls should be punished to the fullest extent! They are sorry excuses for girls and exscecially women. I
would LOVE FOR THE STATE OF FLORIDA TO LINE THOSE GIRLS UP INFRONT OF ME AND LET ME DO TO THEM AS THEY DID TO LINDSEY// GARUNTEED I WOULD SAVE THE STATE OF FLORIDA A LOAD OF MONEY… cyberbullying. werent they supposed to bann it.? or take care of it? is this enough reason why now?? come on now? Florida move youy ass and try a little harder to protect your teens. How come its always the state snoozes and we loose it.

  42. HADASSA on April 11th, 2008 3:18 pm

I am sorry the world had to have a rude awakening of their bad parenting skills thru this poor girl’s suffering. This should tell us that we need to start falling on our faces before the MOST HIGH YAHVEH,REPENT AND INTERCED for our lost children. My heart was really broken at this. My prayer is that THE MOST HOLY YAH OF ISRAEL SEND VICTORIA LINDSAY A RECOVERY OF COMPLETE FUCNTIONS OF HER EAR AND EYE AND ANY OTHER DAMAGE THAT OCCURED.THAT HER HEART ALSO BE MADE STRONG!!!!!!!! SEEK HIM WHILE IT IS YET DAY! TIME IS SHORT AND THAT COULD HAVE BEEN YOU!!!!!

  43. Sara Shockley on April 11th, 2008 6:35 pm

This should come as no surprise, the Bible clearly states that in the last days children will be disobedient to parents, malicious gossipers, haters of good, lovers of evil God haters, etc. We are living in a time of decision, we cannot ride the fence any longer. We need to be a nation and a people who return to the Lord with all our heart. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Hating the girls and the guys who committed this henious crime is not going to help anyone, that is what is already wrong with our world. Yes they should have extreme circumstances for their actions. But I dont believe its fair to judge all their parents and say that they are to blame, these kids made their own choices. Victoria, I am praying for you to recover quickly and for GOd to heal you emotionally, too. I’m also praying that you not be filled with hate toward your avengers, because hate is Satan’s poison. Instead , we are told to love those who hate us and pray for those who persecute us. This is not what the world would teach , but is’nt it time to stop listening to the world, and start listening to the voice of God? Jesus is the answer to all this evil and chaos. Only in Him is salvation found and the time is getting closer every day to His return.

  44. Roger Luckey on April 11th, 2008 8:37 pm

I just can’t read about another MORON trying to blame the internet, or video games, or you-tube, or THE PARENTS! Self responsibility is the issue! When we do things, WE do them. WE are responsible. Not society, not you-tube, and not the parents!

Those 8 teenagers are responsible, no one else. I am the parent of a teenager, and guess what!? I don’t follow her around 24/7! I have taught her proper values, despite the schools, and the endless forms of government sending her the message that she has “rights”!!! I am her father, I DECIDE WHAT RIGHTS SHE HAS! NOONE ELSE! If she does something wrong, SHE will pay the price, she knows that. I’ve taught her to blame only herself for her decisions.

If anything, those kids thought the “system” would not hold them accountable. And they were probably correct. Liberal, bleeding heart criminal protection policies will no doubt have these kids back on the streets soon. No matter that they have proven without a doubt that they are a danger to the public.

Michael Savage is right. Liberalism IS a mental disorder, and that is the root of our many of our society’s current problems. And I suggest it is the underlying cause of our children’s disrespect and lack of a healthy fear of authority.

Those kids should pay! Their earnings for the rest of their lives should be garnished to support this girl-How well will she get on being partially blind and deaf?- after they get out of federal adult prison, that is.

  45. Roger Luckey on April 11th, 2008 9:10 pm

You would beat the hell out of your child If they did this?! Good for you! I would too! And then I would disown her.
But are you so naive to think that your child hasn’t a mind of their own? Your child does things without your permission when you’re not around, and yes, sometimes, things you would not approve of.
Parents are NOT responsible for their childrens ACTIONS. Only their teachings. But guess what!? They do not learn everything we teach. they just don’t. especially whenthey get mixed messages…such as your parents aren’t the boss…the government is. Then guess what!? Suddenly the parent has less power. Use logic, not emotion, Zach.

  46. Roger Luckey on April 11th, 2008 9:20 pm

And Zach, you think the girl heard rumors? The parents knew!??? hhhmmmm…..Yes sweety, go on over to your friends house. There are 8 kids waiting to beat you half to death, just don’t stay too late, ok? :)

Please tell me you don’t really have a child, Zach!

People are acting surprised by this, it shames me to think that this planet is 30 years behind in it’s thinking process.

The ancor said he was surpised about this. We’ll, here’s an encore for you, and it’s a double whammy, so have a diphibulator handy.

I am in my mid 30’s, and Canadian. I was stabbed by a 6th grader when I was 4 years old when I stood up to his attempt at bossing me and my friend around.

Bullying and inapropriate behaviours, have and will never be nothing new It’s just becoming, more accepted.

But make no mistake, the mother is absolutely right when she said, parent’s can’t be there 24/7 and THEY ARE COMPLETELY INDEPENDANT of THOUGHT when on their OWN.

That’s the kind of socieity we’ve created, or rather culture. Not all of it bad, but it isn’t exactly getting any better now is it?

Congradulations. Everyone give themsevles a pat on the back for doing, and not doing their part, to help this behaviour flourish.

Now that technology and lax laws are catching up with us, I’m sure we haven’t seen nothing yet.

Those who have a clue in todays world won’t need further exlpainasion on the wide range of topics that are included to the contribution of problematic society.

It’s sad that this had to happen but strangly i have little sympathy for her the reasons are she most likely walked into it she went by herself and she didnt even attempt to fight back

  49. Brandon on April 11th, 2008 11:23 pm

Take womens rights away they should have never got them in the first place. Stay home and clean and cook.

  50. iris on April 12th, 2008 1:52 am

hey i agree with you Jess, and i am a mom.
those animals need to rot in hell. for you idiot who think you should fight back against 6 people obviously you have never been attacked. some people are too smart to fight. you get killed by fighting back against 8 animals. victoria is smart and brave. those fat assess were just jealous of her, same old story. of course she didn’t like them was probably only a friend because she was afraid of them. i hope they all die in jail. i hope all 8 of the animals get beat every day of the rest of their sorry loser trash fat pig lives.

  51. Judy on April 12th, 2008 2:11 am

I think these girls and boys should be tried as adults and sentenced to the maximum. They are pathetic and cowards. It takes six against one? Come on. Give me a break. They need to be locked up for a long time. They could have killed her.

  52. Evaristo on April 12th, 2008 4:09 pm

Those girls that did that to that girl must be in jail for the rest of their lives and the stupid guy who was there too they seem to have some of a mental disorder that’s obvious but even like that they should be in jail and be beated by their jail mates and the parents of these girls and the guy should be ashamed for the kind of children they have and they are guilty as well just for not taking care of the things that their stupid and sick children do

  53. Sran on April 12th, 2008 6:16 pm

How stupid are these girls? Tape the video and then put it online? Did they think? If they were going to commit a crime, don’t leave any evidence!
There is no way that they can get out of this, they need to recieve the maximum amount of punishment- which is what they deserve for being both cruel and stupid.
Horrible, horrible combat form as well- the victim is lucky. Anyone with training would probably have killed her- or left her even more damaged.

What I don’t understand is why the girl didn’t try to leave- I know its 8 on one, but obviously the attackers were worried about making too much noise- it looked to me like she had a chance to make it, at least make some noise to get the neighbors to investigate.

  54. Tom S on April 12th, 2008 9:37 pm

No sympathy whatsoever for these animals. Can you imagine being gang-beat like that, and then realizing that some fool was videotaping it, to enjoy with some popcoirn at a later date ? How de-humanizing. These animlas showed no mercy for this poor girl - and none should be shonw to them. They should ALL get at least a year in prison. The girl has permanent damage to her eye, and her hearing. These little animals need to pay the price. I see them crying on TV, and I scream at the TV - “OH YOU POOR BABIES !” No sympathy whatsoever.

  55. Jose on April 12th, 2008 10:08 pm

I was so sorry to watch that sample of modern barbarie. It is a direct consecuences of taking out the parents’s authority over their children.
In this country we can not discipline to our kid as they usually need- If we dare to do it we could go to jail.

  56. Tom on April 13th, 2008 12:22 pm

“I do hope the law pervails and do what is right in this case.”

What’s right in this case, is a minimum of 1 year in prison for any one of them who delivered so much as a single punch, or kick. What planet are these girls living on, which gives them the idea that they can gang beat someone ruthlessley, and not have to pay any price for it ? What the hell were they trying to prove, that an 8-on-1 physical confrontation will leave the “1″ with permanent eyesight, and hearing damage ? Were they trying to show how toguh they are ? Were they trying to show how bad-ass they are ? Let them prove those things in an arena where the odds aren’t 8-on-1…prison. Animals, little animals. No sympathy what so ever for any of them, except the “1″. I do not care what she posted on myspace, or what she may or may not have said. The equasion changes dramatically when you start to beat the hell out of someone, 8 against 1. Effing losers.

  61. Chris on April 13th, 2008 11:59 pm

And we’re supposed to be the “future” of America. -_-

  62. Beathersenseless on April 14th, 2008 2:46 am

I understand alot of people are upset about what happend in Lakeland Florida to a 16 year old girl. Let me make sure I understand what happend. Girl A is the victum, she was physically assaulted by 6 girls while two boys stood watch and pulled security at the door. They knocked her unconscious, waited for her to wake up and then beat her some more.

I agree that is some anamalistic $hit and very bad. But let me make sure I have the whole story. Girl A was lured to the place she was beat by several girls she had written bad things about on her My Space. My assumption is that the person who lured her there was a person she didn’t speak ill of, or at least only one of the multiple girls. All of this being accounted for I am not suprised she got beat up. What did she expect to happen, she was internet bullying these girls and they decided to exact revenge. I have seen worse beat downs in person, this does not mean the girls are in the right for what they did, but I by far don’t think it is as bad as they made it sound. While the girl was incapacitated they could have beat her to death or killed her, I feel the video shows it was not their intent to kill her, and that they did take some precautions not too. This by no means justifies thier actions or makes them good.

What I am stating is this: If you are bullying people and then get beat up for it don’t be suprised. This happens in poor neighborhoods all the time and no one cares. If these girls didn’t video tape it, none of us would have seen it, but just because we don’t see something doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.

Girl A (The one who got beat up) is just as responsible for getting her a$$ kicked, as those who did it. Also trying this girls as adults would be wrong except for the ones that are 18, we have a cut off point for a reason. We try the person for the crime, not the crime by its self.

  63. Jamie on April 14th, 2008 9:14 am

Jail. If this one slides by.. I am moving out of this country, because America will show it has no morals. There will be more shootings in schools, more attacks like this because kids, teenagers and adults will think they can get away with anything in this country. CHARGE THEM RIGHT with Attempt to murder and kidnapping!

  64. Violet Clemons on April 14th, 2008 2:44 pm

It really makes me sick knowing that I’m going to be sending my 2 yr old daughter off into that world once she is old enough. What I experienced in school was pretty brutal but if these girls get away with this, what will my baby experience in school? They should be tried as adults!

  65. David Stowe on April 14th, 2008 4:15 pm

I hope she gets better, and those responsible will make up for it later on.

  66. Anastasia on April 14th, 2008 4:49 pm

those girls should be ashamed of themselves. Did they ever for once think that they could have killed that girl !? I hope they get into juvie and be tried as adults. What about the parents? if that were me, my mother would sue the parents of all six girls families. It just goes to show you that parents do not teach kids right from wrong. they do not set examples for their children. No doubt these girls will get a less harsh punishment if their parents have money. I am 17 years old and i know whats right and whats wrong. what they did was wrong and they could have dealt with this situation like mature teenagers instead of violence. there’s just too much violence in the world. Will it ever stop?!

  67. EG on April 14th, 2008 4:56 pm

I have to say that these girls are an exception. I’m not denying that bullying takes place, but I think that, overall, teenagers are good people.

I teach in a public high school, and am often amazed at how generous and kind my students are.

What does need to happen, though, is a bigger effort on the part of parents to exercise discipline when it comes to their children. I have noticed that many of my students expect things to be handed to them. What’s alarming about this is that they don’t even realize they are being disrespectful.

  68. jo jo on April 14th, 2008 10:34 pm

Those girls are the WORST people i have ever seen in my life, to the parents of those girls, and guy, i hope they get the same punishment in a way worse way!!!! if i ever would see those girls, i would do 10 times worse to them what they did to that girl, oh my God, when i saw that video i had so much anger, i needed to take it out, and wished i could on those girls, and that guy, which by the way is a pussy too… i hope the girl that was unfairly hurt and beaten recovers and goes on to be succesful in life!!!! I HOPE THOSE GIRLS GET BEAT!!! HARD!!!!! WORSE!!!! OMG ILL FLY TO WHERE THEY ARE AND DO IT MYSELF!!!

  69. Maria on April 14th, 2008 11:23 pm

Everytime the video is shown on the news I want to cry. That could of been any ones daughter. Those evil girls could of kill Victoria. It’s sad that these youngsters are our future generation. What will become of this world? These girls need to pay for what they did. Humans are not animals and besides not even animals should be treated this way.

  74. Matt on April 15th, 2008 2:04 am

hey “GlassWishes”…GOD should be part of this discussion, and by the way, GOD doesnt imply Christianity…most all religions have their own supreme being or GOD. The lack of a moral compass is the root of these types of problems, for if you remove the rule of law and morals from society, which is based on GODS basic rules for humans, then you have anarchy or animalistic behavior like we see here. its very simple

  75. unknown on April 15th, 2008 9:32 am

how could they do that to the girl. they should be ashamed.

  76. somebody on April 15th, 2008 10:20 am

  81. steve on April 16th, 2008 12:18 am

Jamelah, it is not because they are white, and if they were black we would be charged the same way, you proberly only think that way because you are black…and blacks will never stop complaining about something no matter what it is.

  82. steve on April 16th, 2008 12:21 am

oh and btw i would love to see all of them get a beating HARD, then post that on youtube…stupid fugly hos!!

  83. Aida on April 16th, 2008 3:02 pm

I think this shows how much the girls are learning from home because this is where everything starts and comes from, home. Also, i do agree that the victim should get a public apology for what happen to show there sincerest apologies as to what they brutaly did to this girl regardless of what she had “said” about them on myspace, things should have been taken in a different manner. It shows how sensitivity is taken seriously now days and teenagers should be careful of what they say and myspace shouldn’t be the reason to start this whole situation unless this was done in a face to face situation.so yeah.

  84. Vanessa on April 17th, 2008 2:15 am

I woukd LOVE for the 1 girls parents to fly me to Florida, instead of pressing charges on these 8 girls. I would definately make it worth this girls wild, and make sure that she and her parents are able to watch me - a total stranger - pay these girls back for her.

  85. Robace Rae on April 19th, 2008 12:20 pm

“…you will be banned from all sites including but not limited to myspace…” oh those poor girls. are you kidding me?! I f they were tried as adults, they would have spent the rest of their pitiful lives in jail. sounds more like their parents are grounding them rather then serving a law punishment. i have never seen anything so low and sick in my entire life. to hell with all of them, especially the one trying not to smile in front of the judge.

  86. Tom S on April 21st, 2008 3:45 pm

Hey, “Beathersenseless” - You wrote, “What did she expect to happen, she was internet bullying these girls and they decided to exact revenge.”

What are you talking about ? If you bad-mouth someone on myspace, that does not mean that you should “expect” to get a ruthless gang-beating in return. Is that how you think ? At worst, you should expect to be hit back - verbally. I do not know what planet you are living on, which says that she should have “expected” a ruthless physical gang beating, because she posted nasty on myspace.

And dont pull any of this, “well - I agree it was wrong, but she posted bad things on myspace…” nonsense. Are these babies so fragile that they cant handle mere words, and need to gang beat someone in return for it ?

The equasion is not equal, when physical violence is the response to a myspace posting. Dont tell me that you are not trying to justify the beating, by pointing out that this girl posted nasty on myspace - you are, period. They lured her into a house, gang beat her, taped the beating, and prevented her from leaving before the beating got worse. This was a calculated thing, which they prepared a video camera to record the festivities for. Thinking that this girl was supposed to “expect” this to happen, demonstrates a mindset which is probably not unlike that of the 8 people who took part in the beating.

  87. Bill on April 22nd, 2008 12:56 am

I simply don’t want to believe that it’s come to this. This is a symptom of a greater problem, and it scares the hell out of me that my younger daughters are growing up into this BS. My sympathies especially to the family of Lindsay, and also to the parents of the others involved, as they cannot be in good standing with this and I imagine only wanted the best for their kids. I truly believe that the tide needs to turn the other way in regards to what our values are. Major community service along with a public flogging should be the result of this senseless attack.

Go ahead, call me a vigilante…. but this is where we are…. Prison does not reform, and these kids probably do have a chance at redemption but it must be real, immediate, and shameful to them such that it will sink in.

  88. Tom S on April 26th, 2008 4:00 am

“Everytime the video is shown on the news I want to cry”

Well, not cry - but cringe. When I see the girl trying to leave, and then the main instigator/fist-thrower tells her, “no - you aint leaving”, and then starts to beat her again, thats sickening. Then, to make matters more disgusting, in the background you hear, “dont hit the shelf ! watch out for the shelf !”.

Oh man, that makes my blood boil –> “Dont hit the shelf, look out for the shelf.” Its okay if you strike this girl into permanent hearing and eyesight damage, just as long as you dont hit the shelf while doing it. The girl who yelled that should be beat down hard, while people laugh and videotape it. And if she tries to leave - she should be stopped - with fists.

Those girls were beating her hard, and ruthless - this wasnt open-handed girly-smacking, these were closed fist strikes, trying for maximum damage.

Maximum beating = Maximum jail time.

As for the idiot who has to find a way to introduce race into this - will you please shut up and go away ? Theres always some minority out there seeking to introduce race into things - these are the type of people who see racism in the supermarket, because the black olives are in a can, while the green ones are in a see-thru jar.

This has nothing to do with race you fool. Are you capable of ever seeing things without looking thru the prism of race ? Go try to start an OJ Simpson Reality TV show or something - you know, like The Osbournes, only with The Simpsons. There you can race-bate all you want.

If anything, the demand for maximum jail time for these little white trash bitches, should demonstrate to you, that nobody cares about race - it should show you how people want severe punishment for these bitches, regardless of the fact that they are white. You should feel satisfied with that, but instead, you make somefoolish attempt to introduce your area of expertise - race, where it doesnt belong.

You must be a professional black person, no ?
