How Hillary’s Bosnia Lie Insults the Military

She has no sense of what a statement like that does to soldiers,” fumed retired Maj. Gen. Walter Stewart, the former head of the Pennsylvania National Guard.

“She is insulting the command in its entirety,” he said yesterday.

Clinton came under fire after saying she “misspoke” about what happened during the trip and claimed it was the first time she erred in describing her visit - an assertion Barack Obama’s campaign quickly disproved by finding at least three prior occasions over the last few months where she’s claimed there was sniper fire.

Stewart, who was assigned to the Army’s European headquarters at the time of Clinton’s visit in 1996, called her statements “really astonishing.”

“Believe me, heads would have rolled all over” if the military put the then-first lady at “unacceptable risk,” added Stewart, who is supporting Barack Obama.

Most folks know the lie by now. Hillary lied about landing under sniper fire in Bosnia during a trip as first lady, however bloggers and eventually CBS News exposed her. I heard a different General than the one in the video below this morning on FOX talk about how insulting this was. I’ll try to find something that will give him a name, credit, and an exact quote, but for now I will summarize his points as best I can…cuz they are good ones.

1.Its an insult to the military and its leadership to even suggest that they would not provide adequate protection or even attempt to land someone with such a high profile and imiportance as the First Lady into such a dangerous situation as sniper fire.

2. Being shot out is not something you forget about. People remember in detail the first time they are shot at. This further brings to point that Hillary out-right lied.

I know the General had more points, but the above one is plenty enough. Hot Air provides a video of Col. Hunt making much the same points….but don’t expect an apology from Clinton.
