Must not say that homosexuality is destructive
Posted on March 13, 2008
Oklahoma Republican State Rep. Sally Kern says homosexuality has destructive consequences:
“The homosexual agenda is destroying this nation; it’s just a fact,” Kern is heard saying on a YouTube audio segment. “I honestly think it’s the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam.” …
Kern said she made the comments in January to a Republican club meeting away from the state Capitol. Kern, a former social studies teacher in the Oklahoma City School District, said she talked about efforts by gay rights groups to target conservatives in recent elections.
“I said nothing that was not true, I said nothing out of hate and I don’t believe my colleagues will censure me,” Kern said. “I was speaking about the homosexual activists who are aggressively funding pro-homosexual candidates against conservative Republicans. In 2006, they targeted conservatives across the nation, mostly at the state and local levels. They took out 50 of them.”
On the audio clipping, Kern can be heard saying the homosexual lifestyle “has deadly consequences for those people involved in it.” “It is not a lifestyle that is not good for this nation. No society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted more than, you know, a few decades,” she said.
Roth said comparing a “homosexual agenda” to terrorism is especially offensive. “Her outlandish comparison to the pain that terrorists cause demonstrates how her focus is skewed by her own bias,” Roth said.
Whether you agree with her or not, there is no particular difficulty in making a case that homosexuality is destructive. Homosexuals have fewer children and that could be seen as contributing to the current sub-replacement birthrate. And homosexuals themselves often die quite young as a consequence of AIDS. But you are not allowed to say any of that, apparently. Some arguments must not be heard.

Im sure now the liberals will want her out of office knowing that liberals are the biggist bunch of biggots around
I am a frequent reader and a card carrying member of the GOP. I generally agree with your posts, but today I must take issue with one of your comments.
While AIDs is a horrible condition, to say that gays OFTEN die quite young is dissingenuous at best, and I would challenge you to provide a link to CDC or WHO documentation that supports the claim.
I can agree that there are some gays that die young… They die young from beating, murder, or in the case of that wonderfully peaceful theocracy, Iran, from hanging.
I would also disagree that there is a “gay agenda.” I have never seen it and have never been asked to participate in forming it.
Gays (I don’t know about Lesbians) are in every segment and demographic in society. You may be suprised to find that there are many of us who are REPUBLICAN and VERY conservative…. OUR agenda is simple. Keep the GOVERNMENT out of our lives. We don’t want special rights– hell, I could care less about the marriage thing– We don’t “recruit”– We just want to be left alone– Ok, so yes I do want to have the ability to go to a gay bar once in a while to have a drink and listen to music and not have to put on a pretense of having to act straight to fit in… besides, WE have better dance music than straight clubs– but I digress….
As a REPUBLICAN it frustrates me to see comments like this coming from members of my own party. I guess when the Party talks smaller government, they mean just small enough to fit into my bedroom.
Healthy societies can not exist without bedrock moral values. Homosexuality undermines those values, and society as well. Don’t believe me? Look at history for confirmation.
the agenda that kern speaks of is not about a life style, but a life. a life that has careers, families, extended families, self actualizations, personal growth, loving friends and neighbors. the activists are those who demand the same rights and liberties in the pursuit of happiness as are given heterosexuals. if supporting this movement does anything it tears down the unreasoned, bigoted, homophobic attitudes that exist in this country.
kudos to those “activists”. they should be given a medal.
Well, I read a transcript of Ms. Kern’s edifying diatribe against homosexuals, and I am astounded at the amount of scientific information contained therein. Who knew that homosexuals have a shorter lifespan than heteros? Somebody should tell that to Elton John and Senator Larry Craig. Also, apparently if a society embraces homosexuality, their moment in the sun will only be a few decades, according to some studies that Ms. Kern has perused in detail. I imagine that ancient Rome, Greece, Assyria, Babylon, the cultures of Canaan, and Hollywood were not included in these studies. And who would’ve thought that a gay teacher is far more dangerous than a crazed theocrat with a dirty bomb strapped to his chest in the middle of subway station? I always thought that all men were created equal, but according to Ms. Kern not all lifestyles are equal and certainly not all religions are equal. Which brings me to my next point: Islam. Yes, Islam is a threat to America. Not extremist Islamic terrorists, no sir. Islam itself. So we have homos and muslims, oh my, and we are screwed, no? And lastly, she talks about gay people infiltrating the political landscape. I mean, heterosexual people get elected, but gay people infiltrate. Dear close-minded transparent Sally Kern, I don’t blame you for your bigoted views in the face of such collosal misinformation taking space in your brain. After all, I would not blame a person in a coma for wetting the bed, would I?
