Obama Accused of Plagiarism
Posted on February 18, 2008
Update: Yikes! He’s got nastier allegations to worry about!
Sinclair charges Obama smoked crack cocaine in the limo while Sinclair snorted powdered cocaine provided by the legislator. He says the two met in an upscale Chicago lounge before leaving in Sinclair’s limousine where the drug use and sex took place for the first time.
Update: Stolen slogans from Reagan too?

Obama 2008:
Plagiarism? Wolking World says no. Hot Air says you can’t plagiarize someone that gives their consent.
Put simply, it’s nonsense. It is, however, an indication of how desperate Hillary has become to derail Obama. The supposed victim, Patrick, has already issued a statement hotly criticizing Hillary’s campaign for this attack. That should answer the question rather neatly, and call into question why Team Hillary would have launched this attack without securing the support of Patrick for the faux outrage.
Watch the backfire that comes out from this.
An Obama official said: “They’re friends who share similar views and talk and trade good lines all the time.â€
Obama apparently ad-libbed the remark, which was not in his text.
The Massachusetts governor said in a statement: “Sen. Obama and I are longtime friends and allies. We often share ideas about politics, policy and language. The argument in question, on the value of words in the public square, is one about which he and I have spoken frequently before. Given the recent attacks from Sen. Clinton, I applaud him responding in just the way he did.â€
How about those original ideas? Obama gives such good speeches. Sure, they are empty, but they are good. Too bad they are someone else’s speeches. Isn’t it ironic that the speech in question was about how “words matter”?
Watch how fast this news fades.
Sister Toldjah points out that this isn’t the first time he has borrowed lines from Deval.

The Hot Air take is correct. You cannot plagiarize someone who consents to the use of their thoughts.
It’s a non-starter.
Besides, even if Obama were top steal someone else’s work w/o attribution, he’s a politician. They do that all the time. Remember Joe Biden, “Mr. Plagiarism”? He does it ALL the time–real plagiarism–and nobody gives a hoot… because we expect politicians to be low-down, thieving scoundrels.
But this thing with Obama? It’s nothing.

Interestingly, one of the phrases Obama accuses Clinton of stealing from him is “yes, we can.” And you now have that post up with Reagan. Serendipitous!
