McCain Wins Florida

McCain wins lots of delegates!
John McCain pulled out a win in a squeaker of a Republican presidential primary contest in Florida Tuesday, besting archrival Mitt Romney and leaving Rudy Giuliani’s presidential ambitions in doubt.
With Rudy’s endorsement on the way, it isn’t looking good for Romney.
Here is the quote for the night and it is laughable:
“It shows one thing. I’m the conservative leader who can unite the party,” the Arizona senator said in a brief interview with The Associated Press.
This is a tough night for the Romney campaign. Fred’s withdrawal should have benefited them more than McCain. If Huck stays in, there’s no prospect of southern victories for Mitt on Super Tuesday. And, if Huck and/or Rudy pull out, their votes on balance are likely to break for McCain.
Now that there is a clear frontrunner, he will feel the heat of the spot light, and it will show lots of roaches scattering from McCain’s record. Check this out for starters. Don’t count Romney out yet.
I could easily see a McCain/Rudy ticket in the future. I will predict this much…if McCain gets the nomination and runs against Obama…it will be young charisma vs. cranky old man. We will see a Democrat in the White House.
It is very sad the state that conservatism is in, and what the Republican party has become. I keep telling myself…don’t count Romney out.

One Response to “McCain Wins Florida”

I think that it is time for many of my fellow conservatives to take their ritalin. Seriously, it brakes my heart to say that. At the end of the day, John McCain is a conservative who does take odd positions from time to time. Someone who is pro-life, pro-2nd Am, pro-military, pro-Iraq War, and pro-Constitutional judges is not a liberal or a socialist by any stretch of the imagination. McCain can keep us in power and will govern at least center-right on his worst day. I encourage other conservatives to step back, take a deep breath, and remember that we are at war, and we are one judge away from a Supreme Court majority. Go McCain!
