Fred Thompson on Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer

Posted on January 13, 2008

The attack of Huckabee’s record is getting a lot of mileage. Good! Huckabee’s liberal record needs to be exposed. I think we can tell that it is worrying Huckabee.

This is about the heart and mind of the Republican party.

“Now you’re seeing the real Mike Huckabee come out. So I think we’ve done a favor to the American people, cuz these are serious times and they require somebody that knows what they are doing and doesn’t walk into a situation with foreign representatives and heads of foreign nations with training wheels on.”

Oh, and in less than $100,000, Fred will have raised one million in less than a week. Go help tip it over the edge.

Hot Air gives it the quote of the day.

    No doubt.

It’s about time Pro-Life Bill Clinton is exposed for the slimeball, liberal that he is.

    Get ‘em Fred!

  2. Lucy on January 13th, 2008 8:41 pm

I am so thankful that Fred is finally being recognized for the spectacular person he is and that Huckabee is exposed as the lying liberal he is!

I know he’s going to rock South Carolina.

    Go Fred Go!

  3. Dustin on January 13th, 2008 8:44 pm

    You said it Lucy!

Time to put the Dope from Hope in his place.

The sheep that follow him remind me of the 70 year old women who watch television and send $1 Million checks to their televangelists to pay for their Jets. It’s sickening.

If they would actually check the facts, they wouldn’t be supporting him.

Support from the NEA/Machinist Union/Painters Union are NOT conservative credentials.

Sadly, he’s even fooling some intelligent people too. Surprisingly, my dad said he liked him when I asked who he was looking at. Of course I started educating him quickly, but still. The media get a lot of people still.

  5. Dustin on January 13th, 2008 8:49 pm

    Ya, Jay.

It’s amazing the media spin on him. You’d think THAT would open some conservative eyes.

The MEDIA wants Huckabee to win! That should tell you all you need to know.

  6. Brad on January 13th, 2008 8:52 pm

    I think you mean $100,000.

Great video, by the way. It’s funny to hear Fred say “potty,” though.

Huck has lost my support. Answer the questions Huck about Guantanamo, and school vouchers? I’ve switched to Fred and I know a few others who have also. I’m curious why the so-called POLLS don’t reflect that…

  8. wakeuppeeps on January 13th, 2008 8:57 pm

NO. They mean ONE MILLION since the debate. Go to Fred’s website and see for yourself. He’s over $900,000 now.

  9. Dustin on January 13th, 2008 9:05 pm

There hasn’t been a new poll in South Carolina yet. I think when there is, it will reflect that.

Huckabee just scares the heck out of me. He’s got the worst qualities of Bill Clinton (education/spending/taxes/dishonest) and the worst qualities of George W. Bush (spending/in over his head on foreign policy). If Huckabee ends up as the Republican nominee, I for one, will not be voting this election cycle.

Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen. Vote for Fred! Get the word out!

    FRED LEADS others pander

  11. Brad on January 13th, 2008 9:42 pm

To clarify my previous comment: I think they mean less than $100,000 to go (not $10,000)

  12. Dustin on January 13th, 2008 9:43 pm

We’re getting there people. I’ve throw a donation in to the real conservative, Fred Thompson.

Throw your support his way too!

Don’t let our party be taken over by this slimeball liberal Mike Huckabee!

You said it Dustin. We cannot let the populist moderates take over our party. Huck does not understand the implications of his policy proposals. Huckabee is clearly out of his league trying to debate substantively against Fred.

  15. jeff_nh on January 13th, 2008 11:04 pm

I can’t wait to look back on 2008 from 2028 or so and have all of the candidates talk about how much they are like Fred Thompson and whether or not the Thompson collation is still as strong as it was.

I’m very glad we still have a conservative in the rate. I wish the media would stop trying to tell me who to vote for.

If Huckabee gets the nomination I think that could set the party back for a generation. To some extent I also have real concerns about McCain. I suspect that’s why the media is so excited about these two.

The worst part about Huckabee is that if he gets the nomination, he will loose in a ~60/40% landslide and the press will proclaim that conservatism is dead when in fact, it will have already died at the convention.

  16. Jay on January 13th, 2008 11:18 pm

Yes Brad, that is what I meant. I fixed it now. Thank you

I HOPE that the American people really look at the issues that Fred Thompson has raised. Mike Huckabee is an amateur - he is using ad hominem (against the person) attacks on his opponents - you get thrown off any decent blog for doing that. Fred raised ISSUES.

Fred Thompson has my support, and more every day that I see what his character is. He is proving that he is far above every opponent in this race - he is a truly honorable person.

In addition, Fred Thompson makes sense! He offers no quick fix for complex problems, because there are no quick fixes. He makes no excuses for his record, nor does he need to.

Thinking people need to support this man’s candidacy. It offers real hope for a stable future for our nation. No other candidate offers that - they all want change. Change to what, they don’t say.

Fred Thompson is right. He stands for conservatism, consistency, and principle - and let me now add - honesty in leadership. HOW REFRESHING!

Fred Thompson has got to start hitting John McCain harder, too. While it’s a puny poll, people responded to the Washington Post that they think John McCain is the strongest on illegal immigration and taxes. Can you imagine that? What’s wrong with these people? If either McCain or Huckabee wins the Republican nomination, I’m not voting for them and it will be a cold day in hell before the Republican Party sees another dime from me.
