How can you recognize the power of her actions while simultaneously supporting preemption on a national scale? Would she have been justified in attacking someone who looked like he might want to carjack her?

You know by now that I don’t believe in the heaven/hell bit, but she’s just talking about morality. If I live a moral life and another person doesn’t, he can get the drop on me most any time he pleases. That’s unfortunate, but that’s life. I’ll take all proper precautions, but I’m not about to throwaway everything I stand for in an attempt to preempt something that may not even happen.

Nobody asked you to Jeff. But if you are too much of an, well pick your insult, to recognize that some sense of morality does have power….that it can tap into the consience of even a hardened criminal, then I really don’t know how to explain it.

Take proper precautions. This woman was just equipped with the right ingredients to guilt trip this guy back to his moral core. We all don’t have that equipment. For those that don’t, a gun is nice to have.

I do recognize the power of her approach. I applaud it completely and I also support a high-caliber backup plan. You should already know that much about me.

My question is why don’t you take the same approach on a national scale? You wholeheartedly support preemption. Stop and think about what preemption would be on the scale of this story. The preemption doctrine would have permitted this lady to shoot a man who only looked like he might try to carjack her.

    Nobody asked you to Jeff.

And yes, they have. There is all sorts of killing going on in my name. They don’t seem to care that I, and many others, would rather risk dying as martyrs than live as sinners*.

Jeff- Was you dropped on your head when you was born? That thing on your shoulders seems out of tune.

Jeff, I’m sorry. I’m having a hard time following what point you are trying to make. Maybe you are being clear and my brain is just muddled.

Do you support preemption on an individual scale? Can I attack someone who looks like he might be a threat to me? Or am I only justified when a reasonable person would consider the threat imminent?

“You know by now that I don’t believe in the heaven/hell bit, but she’s just talking about morality.” (Jeff Molby)

What? Did you actually watch the video? She didn’t say anything about morality, but sure said a lot about Jesus Christ, salvation, heaven and hell and repentance!

She demonstrated the true belief of a Christian… “If you kill me, I will just go to heaven, but you will go to hell.” It reminds me of my favorite line from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade… “My soul’s prepared… how’s yours?” She demonstrated true concern about the state of his soul. I pray that he is truly repentant.
