Embrace the Lip Gloss of redemption

There have only been a couple comments to my post from yesterday, about the Virgin Megastores’ suggestions for Christmas stocking stuffers, but based on those two comments, I’ve realized that I was wrong.
The photo below portrays the most appropriate Christmas gift possible, and reflects nothing but the utmost respect for the varied and diverse beliefs of Virgin’s customers as they search for just the right thing with which to celebrate Christmas. Commenter RegularRon schooled me on that.
To say otherwise, or to even simply point out the silliness, is whining, I’m told (see comments).

Shouldn’t we be rioting and burning down cities or something? Can you imagine a Looking Good For Mohammad lip balm flyer? The megastore would be burned to the ground.
It is a false teaching but it does bring up a reason to educate the public on what Jesus is really about. In this case Jesus is more concerned with your actions and whether they are good and right than with your appearance.
ArrMatey, I wasn’t saying You were whinying. I was talking about the whole “War on Christmas” thing in general. I didn’t mean to offend you per-say, but in the larger context. I think it’s all one big friggin joke. It’s a way for certain groups, to make money. “There’s a war on Christmas, send the ADL money to fight it”. It’s a joke.
Is the ad Blasphemes? Of course it is. But why should I care? I know who Christ is. I’m a Devout Catholic for St. Pete’s sake. And I do know the meaning of Christmas. Again why should I care about some store using this to promote some goofy product? Is it hurting my faith? No. Is it hurting your faith? No. So what’s the big deal again?
Christmas isn’t about consumerism. It’s the celebration of THE CHRIST.

Why should I, want to force someone to say “Merry Christmas” OR Force some company that only has a FEW stores, to change there marketing ploy because some folks are offended.
I agree with Jay in his above comment, if this was a picture of the Death-Cult leader himself Muhammad, there would be riots and burnings and killings. But the last time I checked, we are Christians. As Christ said, we should turn the other cheek.
I don’t agree Ron. I think there is a legitimate effort to make Christmas politically correct, or “more inclusive”. I think there is a war on our culture. Why should you care? Because if you do nothing. If you don’t make the public aware of it, it will inch further and further into that realm. Political correctness does a lot more harm to our country than it gets credit for.
Jay, I do agree with you to some extent. Is there a “war” on Traditional views? Sure is. At the sametime, I also don’t believe in forcing someone to believe the way I do. That’s what makes me a Christian. I pray for them to see the way. Not screem everytime I’m offended. If we were to get into things that offended me. I’d have to say the “war on Christmas” would be at the bottom of that list.
I don’t need to seal of approval of these stores to know when Christmas is.
