CNN Debate Roundup
Posted on November 29, 2007
I wanted to do a small roundup of interesting links and stuff from last night’s debate and then get onto other topics.
Factcheck.Org does some fact checking and all the top four come up short, but one…Fred Thompson gets his facts straight. A sample:
Romney claimed New York called itself a “sanctuary city†for illegal aliens. It didn’t.
Giuliani denied New York actually was a “sanctuary city.†But the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service has classified it as such, based on immigrant-friendly policies Giuliani still defends.
Huckabee claimed he would “abolish the IRS.†He failed to mention that he’d replace it with another big tax bureaucracy.
Huckabee said he had proposed to make children of illegal aliens eligible for Arkansas scholarships if they “had been in our schools their entire school life.†Actually, the proposal required only three years in Arkansas schools.
Still on Fred…Frank Luntz says he got the soundbyte of the night.
There was also a great debate on immigration that took place.
Newsbusters wonders if CNN should be allowed to host anymore debates.
Johnny Dollar has a great video clip of FOX News debating on whether Rudy flubbed up on the Bible question. I know what he was trying to say, but the debate is interesting. I figured it would be good for a conversation.

You said, “Huckabee claimed he would “abolish the IRS.†He failed to mention that he’d replace it with another big tax bureaucracy.”
Please explain why abolishing the IRS and replacing with consumption/sales tax would create another big tax bureacracy. 45 of the 50 states already have the mechanisms for gather sales tax. Add another line to forms, a date to have computers re-scheduled by, and the states would forward the tax revenues to the US treasury twice a month (keeping any interest on millions/billions between collection and payment).
Where’s the problem?
That is a quote from factcheck.org
The Earth suffers from a gross overabundance parasites. From tape worms to robber barons their goal in life is to drain every last drop of blood from their victims.
The Earth should be a planet completely free of parasites. Alliances and advocates to achieve this end are scattered and fragmented at this point in time. However, the movement is growing stronger on a daily basis. Your support will be most welcome.
