Sunday Funnies
Posted on March 25, 2007
I’ve been posting my cartoon here at Stop The ACLUÂ during the past few months for Jay while he continues to serve overseas, without any accompanying commentary, but today let’s do something different.
I regularly post in forums which are critical of my cartoon. One of these sites is Portal Of Evil, which generated this recent comment, which I think is typical of pro-ACLU sentiment-
Howdy, Mr. Lacey. I haven’t posted on Portal of Evil in…quite some time. Let’s face it, lurking is easier, equally entertaining, and cuts far less into my law school time.
However, I can’t take cartoons like this anymore:

In short, I am very, very tired of devout Christians claiming that they are somehow “oppressed” because they are no longer able, thanks to our Establishment Clause jurisprudence, to use the machinery of government to broadcast a particular religious view to the masses. Be grateful for the Establishment Clause, since the neutrality that it imposes on the state is likely RESPONSIBLE for the freedom with which religion flourishes in America.
Your favorite whipping boy, the ACLU, thinks so too. The following links describe cases in which the ACLU defended the rights of Christians to worship freely. I know that even more exist, but I haven’t the patience to find them. Please read every single one before you ever bash the ACLU again.
Also, try reading the Supreme Court cases that eventually held that school-led prayer was unconstitutional; the original plaintiffs in those early cases were Christian.
Hugs!

I would like to point out to anyone who uses those particular cases to support their anti-school prayer arguments that America has a long history of spreading Christianity through direct actions that are much greater than school prayer. Also, any rulings against PDR’s (Public displays of Religion) and school prayer have no constitutional basis as long as Congress establishes no official religion. Activist judges do not have the power to rewrite their agendas or views, no matter what they think.
The ACLU and democrates are responsible for the moral down fall of America. They support the murder of hundred of thounsand innocent children each year and they Hate God. They hate the men and women that serve in our military defending our country against terroist who wants to do harm to us. They support AlQaede and the million of illegal immigrants in our coutry braking the law. They prosecute border patrol agents that are trying to stop drugs and illegal immigants coming from Mexico. They push homosexuality on us but heaven fobid you mention God. They push evulution as truth and it has been proven time and time again it is flawed. I would love to be in Heaven when democrates and members of the ACLU stand before God and have to answere for how they turned their backs on Him. Like God said ” Deny me before man and I will deny you before my Father” To those who read this and are Christians May God bless and keep you always in His love. Those who are not Christians, Members of the ACLU and democrates, I pray for you that you will turn from your ways and turn to God for His help and forgiveness.
