OK to Offend Southerners
Posted on March 18, 2007

To many Southerners the Confederate flag is a memorial to the brave men among their ancestors who fought to defend their hearths and homes against Northern tyranny. Even Abraham Lincoln in his famous Gettysburg address did not refer to the war as fought in the name of ending slavery. And one assumes that even Southerners can be allowed to have feelings. But their feelings don’t count, apparently — unless they are black or homosexual of course:
“TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - A Confederate flag hanging from a noose on a 13-foot gallows will remain on display despite protests from the Sons of Confederate Veterans, who call it an affront to Southern heritage.
“The Proper Way to Hang a Confederate Flag” by black artist John Sims is “offensive, objectionable and tasteless,” Robert Hurst, commander of the local camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, said Friday.
But the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science said it stands by Sims’ work, part of a larger exhibit called “AfroProvocations,” because it wants to inspire dialogue…”
Yes. Insulting people IS the Leftist idea of dialogue.

If they were really interested in inspiring “dialogue” other than the anti-white, anti-southern (and vicariously anti-Christian-rightwing-guntoting-Republicanvoting) dialogue they’re used to, they’d have nothing left to talk about.
And mewanwhile the NAACP and JESSIE JACKASSON are still trying to get the confederate flag removed from all those southern states SCREW THOSE LIBERAL FOOLS ESPECIALY JESSIE JACKASSON
If you look at it in the liberal view, “dialogue” is saying what they want to say, without caring if they insult you when they say it. Likewise, it’s “racism” when they feel insulted when you respond with something they don’t like to hear.
I’ve never heard of a good “dialogue” between two groups with one starting out with insults.
It’s rather ironic that right-wingers are complaining about liberals
not caring whether or not rightists are offended, and then you folks
post stories denigrating people for being offended by rightist
comments. Hey, if you want others to develop a thick skin regarding
being offended, you’re gonna have to apply the same medicine to
yourselves.
“And one assumes that even Southerners can be allowed to have feelings. But their feelings don’t count, apparently — unless they are black or homosexual of course”
So, JonJayRay - you’re saying you’re pro-slavery? You think that blacks and homosexuals should be salves to white Southerners?
Sorry, just had to counter your straw man with another one. Go ahead and bust ‘em down!
Psst. Lincoln might not have referred to slavery in his Gettysburg speech, but Southern editorials ["Our doctrine is this: WE ARE FIGHTING FOR INDEPENDENCE THAT OUR GREAT AND NECESSARY DOMESTIC INSTITUTION OF SLAVERY SHALL BE PRESERVED"] and Southern Senators ["Things have reached a crisis. The crisis can only be met in one way effectually, in my judgment; and that is, for the northern people to review and reverse their whole policy upon the subject of slavery."] wrote about slavery being the #1 priority in preserving the South.
boo hoo?Free country deal with.I bet you don`t worry about other peoples “feelings” when you fly that peice of crap.
The only thing I see wrong with it is that the rag should have been hung from the limb of a tree…lynched…
I’d also like to see Swastika in an oven.
Your headline makes sense only if you feel we should respect the feelings of those who commit treason against our country. Are you willing to defend Michael Moore’s feelings as well, presuming to know how you feel about him?
The Confederate Flag…
The one pictured above is either the Battleflag of the
Army of Tennessee, or the 2nd Confederate Naval Jack.
It is rectangular in dimension, not to be confused (as is
always the case with liberal lefties and civil rights hucksters)
with the square version Army of Northern Virgina version made famous
by General Robert E Lee.
The Confederate Flag pictured above is ironic in this
political hate speech piece (not art, as Piccaso, Michaelangelo,
or even a third grader would inform us) as lynchers and the KKK
have always used the United States flag. It is the Official KKK Flag.
Jim Crow took place under the US Flag. Slavery took place under the US Flag for 90 years. Slave ships flew the United States flag.
Millions of Indians were slaughtered under the United States flag.
Not an INCH of land was taken from Indians under the Confederate flag.
No KKK lynchmob was ever seen using a Confederate Flag.
The Confederate Flag was used by Sudanese freedom fighters. It was present
at the downfall of the Berlin Wall. It was used by Bosnians.
It is used by Afghanistan people. It waa used by United States
troops to signal victory after taking Okinawa from Japanese
troops at Shuri Castle. It is used in Ireland by the
citizens of County Cork. It is used by United States troops across
all theatres of war, and it was first used by our brave Confederate ancestors.
The political hate speech person behind this is John Sims. He was run out of Gettysburg for attempting to display that crap. He managed to find just enough bed wetting liberals to allow him this historically inaccurate display.
The same folks who allowed Sims this outlet REFUSED to allow an art display by groups who offered a differing viewpoint - anyone surprised?
This is exactly the same type hate speech display as the
Crucifix in urine a few years ago. The urine is from the
bed wetting lefties, as is the weak mided mentality of their ‘art’
