Al Gore - Hypocrite

Tennessee Center for Policy Research: Al Gore’s Personal Energy Use Is His Own “Inconvenient Truthâ€
Gore’s home uses more than 20 times the national average
Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.
Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).
In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.
The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.
Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.
Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.
Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.
“As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,†said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.
In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.
Shocking! You know, I’m glad he does this. What information like this does is shred the “credibility” of socialist-socialiteweights like Al Gore and his private jet-flying Hollywood watermelons (green on the outside, red on the inside) who suck up more energy than even Gore in their uber-mansions. How much more evidence do you need that these finger-wagging tyrants are full of hot air, which is what they must be mistaking for “global warming.”
For all the atheocrats who accuse the “easily-led religious right” of blind faith, narrow-mindedness and ignorance: Check yourselves, because all of your godz have failed, yet you seamlessly and shamelessly transition from one Siren-song popular delusion to the next, pretending you were never seduced before because your late cause-du-jour turned out so, so disastrously. Today’s global warming fanatic is yesterday’s Fellow Traveler.

The Hypocrisy Of Al Gore
Woops It seems Al Gore doesn’t walk the walk….anyone really surprised? Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has f…
Weird… I read this on another site earlier and posted it to comments at yet another site and come here and see it posted.
Anyway- here’s the contrast.

It’s okay that Al Gore doesn’t “walk the talk” - his liberal cronies listening and applauding don’t either.
Yeah right, the Oscar’s were supposedly “Green” last night!

Al Gore’s Own Inconvenient Truth

seems al gore is PAYING extra for energy sourced from renewables, so everyone is jumping the gun a bit

Electric bills obtained by The Tennessean, however, showed that Gore is paying a premium on his bills to be part of the “green power†program. Gore purchased 108 blocks of “green power†for at least each of the last three months, according to a summary of bills from Nashville Electric Service.
That’s a total of $432 a month spent to pay extra for solar or other renewable energy sources. NES power – outside this program - is derived largely from coal, which emits carbon, a green house gas.
The green power purchased by Gore in those three months is equivalent to recycling 2.48 million aluminum cans, or recycling 286,092 pounds of newspaper, according to comparison figures on the utility’s Web site.

This “carbon offset” baloney is just the left’s version of their false accusation against fundamentalist Christians: that we can just ask for forgiveness and can continue to go on sinning as much as we want. The leftists can just claim to be using some method that allegedly makes them “carbon neutral” and they can go on polluting as much as they want. They can even increase the amount of pollution they produce. No need for actual, meaningful behavior modification.

Al Gore’s Mansion Uses As Much Electricity In A Month As An Average House Does In A Year

Al Gore, hypocrite? Hmm, maybe not so much, one we get past the
polemics and anti-left ad hominems. Let’s see, Gore’s mansion
uses many times more energy than an “average” home. Okay, I’ll
accept that–but not at face value. Here are some questions that
you folks aren’t considering: How much larger is Gore’s house than
“average?” If you subtract the extra Gore pays for utilizing
renewable sources of electricity, what the ratio then? Finally,
has Gore done himself what he recommends others do in terms of
insulation and recycling?
Sure, cry “hypocrite”–provided you’ve got all the facts. You need
to know exactly what Gore is advocating that people do, and then
honestly assess just how much of that walk Gore himself is walking.
“How much larger is Gore’s house than “average?â€
“If you subtract the extra Gore pays for utilizing renewable sources of electricity, what the ratio then?”
The hypocrite language stands…explain it away all you want.
If he actually cared for the things he claims to, he wouldn’t be in an enormous house which he KNOWS will burn more energy than a house half, a third, a quarter, a fifth, a tenth of the size of his behemoth abode. All your bogus “offset” pap is nothing but a smokescreen for open-air hypocrisy.
Can you actually argue that Al and Tipper NEED such a home? Wouldn’t a decent 2,000 sq. ft. home do for two folks? I don’t mind that they have such a home (good on them that they’ve achieved success in this country, albeit by lying, nonetheless), what I do mind is the arrogance of eco-scolds that can rent hybrids to roll in front of the cameras just before and after they board their oft-used private jets to go to one of several homes that they know will contribute (far more than the “cretins” they lecture) to what they say is the greatest danger to our planet.
Doesn’t it shake your faith gary that you are required to engage in such exhausting intellectual gyrations in order to justify the rank hypocrisy of your godz?
Energy Gobbler Gore Responds
He claims that he signed “up for 100 percent green power through Green Power Switch, installing solar panels…” and yet his energy consumption went up!
Oh, it’s not nearly as exhausting as it must be to imagine one
sees lies and hypocrisy in those you disagree with, yet remain
blind to it when it occurs on your own side of the political fence.
What you’re doing is making assumptions about what environmentally
responsible people are asking of people (which, in fact, they’re
not) and then branding them hypocrites by not following what they’re
not advocating in the first place.
And your usage of the term “godz” bespeaks further incorrect
assumptions.
Teh Goracle of the Global Warming Religion
AlGore is the number one fingure in the New Church of Global Warming. He said Global Warming was not a political issue, but a moral issue. BS. It is totally political. It is all about killing the American businesses into
gary –
Your new name is Dominique Dawes…you are quite the gymnast.
We’re not talking about anyone else on any “side of the fence.” We are talking about a single blazing hypocrite.
Do tell gary, what are “environmentally responsible” people decreeing, er, asking of “people”…or do you mean “The People.”
As far as I can tell, the First Envirofascist Commandment:
“Thou shalt conserve.”
Al and Tip don’t have any children living at home, are on the road MANY more days of the year than the average American, yet still maintain an enormous mansion that they KNOW will burn a buttload more energy than any two people normally would…and do so at a 20-fold clip over normal people. They must really fire the place up when home to burn what they burn between the two of them.
I stand by “godz” as well. The mouth-foaming with which you defend Gore bespeaks something deeper than a position you simply hold. Sounds more like religious fanaticism.
Gore’s hypocrisy shouldn’t bother anyone who is truly on the left, since the Godless are totally devoid of a moral compass. Libs should not be upset by hypocrisy, lies, or anything else looked upon as “wrong” by someone who believes in moral absolutes.
Just as the only folks who seemed to care that Pres. Klinton cheated on his wife were Conservatives, we’re the only ones who care that Gore is a hypocrite.
There are moral absolutes. If you say there are not, I ask you, are you ABSOLUTELY sure?
What you don’t see here is that Al Gore buys his energy from renewable resources through a program that targets wind, solar & methane to balance 100 percent of his electricity costs and this program costs about twice as much as the coal-fired stuff you and I pay less for here in the South.
Gore also invests his own money in projects and programs to reduce global emissions and uses those investments to maintain a “carbon neutral” lifestyle even including all the travel he does for his book and his speeches. So, certainly more than the average public figure, Gore does indeed “walk the walk.” But ya’ll have your minds made up so why confuse yourselves with facts, right?
Oh, and that group that claims to have gotten Gore’s bill details from Nashville Electric Service?
“But company spokeswoman Laurie Parker said the utility never got a request from the policy center and never gave it any information.”
So much for the “Policy Research” folks “walking the walk.”
It’s hard to tell where the next real hypocrites are gonna come from . . . .

“I love it when hypocrites point a finger and cry “hypocrite!â€
Pretty weak death throes gary. Demonstrate my hypocrisy please. Oh, you can’t. Sounds like you are conceding the argument gary.
People, people please, can’t we all get along? Do any of you actually think for yourselves? Or do you believe everything you read? First of all, The so-called Tennessee Center for Policy Research is not officially recognized by the State of Tennessee, do you find that odd?
Second of all, if any of you had done your research, you would easily find that the Gore’s buy renewable energy to offset their carbon footprint. I know I am using some terms that may seem strange, but believe me they are real. Al Gore may use a lot of electricity, but it is not the electricity coming from a coal burning power plant. Any energy he receives that is not renewable, he purchases carbon credits to offset it.
Unlike all of you, he is actually trying to make a difference. It truly is an insult to all of you, and Americans in general that you can buy a story like this hook, line, and sinker. But if you prefer not to think for yourself, then by all means, continue down your blind path.
…if any of you had done your research, you would easily find that the Gore’s buy renewable energy to offset their carbon footprint.
He does no such thing. The so-called offsets he buys are from “Generation Investment Management, a company he co-founded, and serves as chairman.”
“As co-founder and chairman of the firm … he “buys†his “carbon offsets†from himself, through a transaction designed to boost his own investments and return a profit to himself. To be blunt, Gore doesn’t buy “carbon offsets†through Generation Investment Management - he buys stocks.”
Nuke’s News and Views
Al Gore may use a lot of electricity, but it is not the electricity coming from a coal burning power plant.
He gets his power from Nashville Electric Service. Do you have evidence that they sell any kind of power other than coal produced?
Try taking your own advice and do some research.
So, someone with a blog name of bushisstupid tells us that we are blind and can’t think for ourselves. HMM, I suppose that someone isn’t just reflexively echoing mass media when he picks his blog names. I love that you Gore supporters think that as long as he “purchases carbon credits” all is forgiven. Keep burning the midnight oil, Al, and no, no, no, don’t fly commercial. Just as long as you can pass the buck….don’t practice what you preach. PS - Doesn’t Mr. Gore own 2 or 3 other homes? How big are they?
