Two to Three Years………..

Posted on January 7, 2007

The Drudge teaser is now a published article. If this is true, from the Monday edition of The New York Times:

As the policy is being debated in Washington, the new American operational commander in Iraq said Sunday that his plan was to send additional American troops, expected to be part of the policy change, into Baghdad’s toughest neighborhoods, and that under the new strategy it may take another “two or three years” to gain the upper hand in the war.

Then this is also true:

“I have reached the tentative conclusion that a significant portion of this administration, maybe even including the vice president, believes Iraq is lost,” Biden said. “They have no answer to deal with how badly they have screwed it up. I am not being facetious now. Therefore, the best thing to do is keep it from totally collapsing on your watch and hand it off to the next guy — literally, not figuratively.”

The Reserve Components of the US Army can not endure “two to three years” of this operational tempo. I have no joy in saying that. The Reserve Chiefs do not dispute that.

The American people will not tolerate “two to three years” on a maybe.

Wow, I never thought I’d say this, but your logic is utter garbage. 2-3 years for a nation-building exercise in no way implies anything that Biden says. Now Biden knows stuff about the military? Since when? Having 11 out of 14 provinces stable ain’t “screwing it up.”

You’ve swallowed the MSM bull on Iraq. I’m not coming here anymore.

I do not think the American people will be that patient especially with the predominately anti war media keeping a detailed count of how many American soldiers are killed and seldom telling about what gains are made.
