Pelosi Endorses Murtha for Majority Leader
Posted on November 12, 2006
Heres even more fuel for America’s “new direction” of “cut and run”.
“Your strong voice for national security, the war on terror and Iraq provides genuine leadership for our party, and I count on you to continue to lead on these vital issues,” Pelosi wrote Murtha Sunday in a letter obtained by The Hill. “For this and for all you have done for Democrats in the past and especially this last year, I am pleased to support your candidacy for majority leader for the 110th Congress.”…
“Nancy told me some time ago that she would personally support Jack. I respect her decision as the two are very close,” Hoyer said in a statement. “I am grateful for the support I have from my colleagues, and have the majority of the caucus supporting me. I look forward to working with Speaker Pelosi as Majority Leader.”…
One Democrat supporting Hoyer, who asked to remain anonymous, said the letter signaled desperation in the Murtha camp.
“It appears to me that Murtha had to pull Nancy forward because he was behind in votes,” the Democrat said. “This is not a surprise he was very important to her. [But] it’s a secret ballot and Steny has a lot of diverse support.”
Strong voice for “cut and run” and surrender is more like it. Anyone still hoping for bi-partisanship on things from the Democrats?
What better way to assuage fears about Democrats being too dovish and anti-military than to back America’s foremost spokesman for cut and run — who once famously pronounced Haditha a case of murder “in cold blood” while the investigation was still ongoing?
The insane, doddering, syphilitic old poster boy for euthanasia whose “solution” to the war is to “redeploy over the horizon to, well, Okinawa” who then, when given a vote on his own proposal, doesn’t even have the guts to vote for his own psychotic idea.
Roll Call notes it is mutual backscratching.
But Pelosi’s action is sure to shake up the race between Hoyer and Murtha, and is also a signal to the Bush administration and GOP Congressional leaders that she will take an aggressive line on Iraq.
Pelosi, with critical support from Murtha, defeated Hoyer in a race for Minority Whip in 2001, and sources close to the California Democrat said she wants to reward Murtha for his loyalty by backing him in the Majority Leader race.
God help us! The loonies have control of the Asylum! Anybody else missing Rumsfeld yet?

I missed Rumsfeld the moment he announced he was stepping down.
I’ve been noticing a lot of silence from the part of those Democrat/liberal supporters who usually chime in here. Things that make you go hmmm…..
Murtha is pro life which may be a plus if he wins. His questionable character and pro cowards stance are against him.
