Michael J. Fox Admits He Has Not Read Missouri’s Stem Cell Amendment

Posted on October 29, 2006

Thanks to Flopping Aces for the video.

Via ABC:

Stephanopoulos: In the ad now running in Missouri, Jim Caviezel speaks in Aramaic. It means, “You betray me with a kiss.” And his position, his point, is that actually even though down in Missouri they say the initiative is against cloning, it’s actually going to allow human cloning.
Fox: Well, I don’t think that’s true. You know, I campaigned for Claire McCaskill. And so I have to qualify it by saying I’m not qualified to speak on the page-to-page content of the initiative. Although, I am quite sure that I’ll agree with it in spirit, I don’t know, I— On full disclosure, I haven’t read it, and that’s why I didn’t put myself up for it distinctly.

I thought I should put this up since it will probably be mostly ignored by the Lame Stream Media. Although, I’m sure Rush Limbaugh will not be ignoring it. It is interesting how he used his star power to push for something he admits now to not have full understanding of. He goes on to say he against cloning, so is he still for the Missouri legislation?

Key quote people should note:

” I’m not qualified to speak on the page-to-page content of the initiative. ”

Wow! My pity for this guy is even more now.

Wow! Talk about terrible jokes! MsUnderestimated shows us a nasty political cartoon jumping into the controversy.
The Anchoress also has a good post on the controversy.

He seems to be honest, at least as far as the words he speaks, and that was part of the debate.

I am not criticizing Rush Limbaugh who accused him of being off medicine or acting his symptoms out in the ad since Michael J. Fox had admitted doing that previously. Fox said he did not do that in this commercial and since all Limbaugh was going on was Fox’s word we should give Fox the a presumption of innocence. This just helps to make the presumption more sure.

I do not read all the legislation I speak of but I do check out the claims of others when I believe they are significant. In this case from Fox’s stand on cloning I believe the opponents’ claims are significant.

Another question is, is MJF an American citizen? Can he vote?

    I think he is.

His ad wasn’t for the initiative. It was for maccaskil.

As gfactor said - his ad was not for the initiative. Also, I know he has campaigned for Arlen Specter in the past (2004). I think this is a non-partisan issue for him. I think he is trying to save his life and help millions of other Americans. If you watch the whole video, I think you will see that. He is looking to get the votes in so that the numbers will be there so that the President cannot veto the bill again (the one veto Bush has ever used.)
