Israel Has Been __________ (You Fill In The Blank)

First we have a Lebanese army statement that tells the troops to “stand with their brothers:”

“An internal Lebanese army statement, circulated among forces in the past week, has called for troops to stand “alongside your resistance and your people who astonished the world with its steadfastness and destroyed the prestige of the so-called invincible army after it was defeated”.

According to sources close to the army command, there has been a tacit agreement between Hizbullah and the army that those fighters who hail from the south will return to their villages and all arms will be put out of sight. Publicly displayed weapons will be seized but any further attempt to disarm the group has been ruled out for the time being.”

And we have an interesting mix of countries jumping at the opportunity to defend the blue line between Israel and Lebanon:

“Israel says it would be “difficult if not inconceivable” to accept nations which do not recognise its right to exist as part of a UN force in Lebanon.

Israeli UN envoy Dan Gillerman was speaking after Indonesia and Malaysia, which do not recognise Israel, pledged troops for the UN deployment.

Malaysia said Israel should have no say in the make-up of the force. “

Can we please just start the shooting again so that we can really get this over with?

The Lebanese government needs to assimilate Hezbollah for this to be a victory. Israel is well aware of that and is probably trying to facilitate the assimilation as they believe a united Lebanon will be a better neighbor than a divided one.
