Gingrich says it’s World War III, 7/16/2006
Posted on July 15, 2006
Newt was in Seattle this weekend and gave a very stark analogy of the current situation in the Middle East.
Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich says America is in World War III and President Bush should say so. In an interview in Bellevue this morning Gingrich said Bush should call a joint session of Congress the first week of September and talk about global military conflicts in much starker terms than have been heard from the president.
“This is World War III,” Gingrich said. And once that’s accepted, he said calls for restraint would fall away:
“Israel wouldn’t leave southern Lebanon as long as there was a single missile there. I would go in and clean them all out and I would announce that any Iranian airplane trying to bring missiles to re-supply them would be shot down. This idea that we have this one-sided war where the other team gets to plan how to kill us and we get to talk, is nuts.”

McCain knows who needs to be practicing restraint!

Gingrich for President 2008!
Now I don’t know about his chances… most likely very slim.
But wouldn’t it be nice to have a real conservative in the Oval Office again?
In other news, Newt Gingrich invests heavily in stock of defense contractors. Man you can just hear the Lockheads and Boeings of the world drooling.
Gingrich must be listening to Glen Beck who has been touting it and the standoff with North Korea and Iran as WWIII. They might be right.
Fortunately most of the response were excellent and reality based. Because I am on the left coast and have to put up with liberals all around who do not have a clue what they are talking (breaking wind is a better term) about, I really wish the left and liberals would get a life and wise up to what is going on. Here is what Sa’d Al-Hariri said. It can be found at MEMRI: There Should Be a Reckoning With the Adventurers who Embroiled Lebanon in the Crisis
In an interview with the Saudi government daily Okaz, Sa’d Al-Hariri, chairman of the Al-Mustaqbal party, said: “The recent position [taken by] the [Saudi] kingdom is rational and is characterized by political acumen… In its declaration [i.e. its criticism of Hizbullah and Iran], the [Saudi] kingdom said the whole truth. These adventurers [i.e. Hizbullah] have placed us in a difficult situation because of their irresponsibility, and in fact, the Saudi position [presented] the present situation as it really is… We support this stance because we are fed up with the exaggerations and the slogans… which ultimately brought about the destruction of the Lebanese infrastructure and the murder of innocent Lebanese. We demand a reckoning with these adventurers who embroiled Lebanon in a crisis it does not need. The truth must be stated even if it is painful and difficult, as it was stated by [Foreign Minister] Saud Al-Faysal in his speech at the Cairo [Arab foreign ministers] meeting…
“…Lebanon has been embroiled in a war, and we do not know how it will end. [Those responsible] did not consult anybody, and did not coordinate [this] with the government… We do not want the continuation of this destruction…”
Regarding the Arab rift [that emerged] in the meeting, he said: “The position of the [Saudi] kingdom, Egypt, Jordan, and the Gulf states was positive, and those hypocrites [i.e. Syria and Iran] calling for battle, are in fact the people most distant from this struggle. They want to bring the region into an all-out war…”
(Okaz (Saudi Arabic), July 17, 2006.)
Needless to say, many Arabs in the Middle East have told Hamas and Hezbollah to take a hike. And, our donk lefti and libbies have the wrong talking points for this. They are using Al-Jeezera and the enemies talking points and do not even realize that most of the Arab Street thinks Hamas and Hezbollah are nuts. (Along with Syria and Iran) Perhaps this is the time to settle the problem.
