Iran’s Propaganda War Heats Up
Posted on May 28, 2006
While America is doing its best to solve the problem with Iran through diplomatic means, Iran seems to be provoking us with propaganda. Allah Pundit points us to this Memri video that claims that Iran has captured American troops. The propaganda they are running with seems to be from 2004 with captured Britans. However, this is only the beggining of their brainwashing propaganda.

As Allah Pundit says so well:
This is just a coming attraction, mind you. The transcript says a full program, called “The Illusion of Power,” will air on Iranian TV soon. (Update: I’m pretty sure at least some of the footage comes from this incident dating to June 2004. That involved three British patrol boats, but MEMRI says some of the men in the video are American soldiers. I don’t remember any cases of Iran capturing U.S. troops; does anyone else? In any case, the fact that they’re running this stuff on TV now certainly lends credence to Captain Ed’s theory.)
Allah Pundit also points to Caroline Glickwho spells things out for the pacifists.
Since the Vietnam War era, a disturbing notion has been accepted by wide swathes of the peoples of the Western world and has become a writ of faith among Western academic and governing elites. That notion is that the last just war was the Second World War and that the last enemy that deserved to be defeated utterly was Nazi Germany. Only Hitler constituted an implacable foe. This conclusion, which was seamlessly grafted onto the pacifist worldview of the radical Left in Europe and the US in the 1960s, and of the Israeli Left in the 1990s, holds that still today, the only enemy that the West can conscionably fight is Adolf Hitler…
The thing of it is that the question of whether or not Iran is the new Nazi Germany is wholly irrelevant. Iran today is the engine of the global jihad war machine and it is on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons which it has already pledged to use in order to commit genocide. With or without jackboots, Iran is a clear and present danger to the Western world. Yet rather than acknowledge this reality, the leaders of the Western world are allowing and indeed insisting that since Ahmadinejad isn’t Hitler, his venality is besides the point, with the point being that he must be appeased.
Appeasment is not the answer with Iran. We all hope that diplomacy can work, but in my opinion I don’t think Iran is interested in that. However, there still might be hope for the problem to be resolved through other means besides war, and that is revolution from within.
Gateway Pundit shows us the progress of the students in Iran that are trying to rise up.
In solidarity with the uprising in western and northwestern Iranian provinces against the clerical regime, students in Tehran University abandoned their lessons and held rallies, demonstrations and protest gatherings in the past few days.
Many covering their faces carried banners which read “death to dictator” and chanted anti-regime slogans.
Let us all hope that the power of the people can rise up to stop the insanities of those that are now in power. This is something, in my opinion, much more solid to put our hopes in than appeasement and even diplomacy. We should support and encourage this revolution in whatever ways we can. I’m afraid that the only other realistic solution to the Iran crisis will end up being war. Power to the people!

Iran is playing to their audience which is Muslims wherever they happen to be located. That is politics. The EU has a problem with their large Muslim constituency. China and Russia have other reasons to tolerate Iran’s extremism.
But appeasement worked with Hitler! Oh…oops.
Point: Not even Hitler was Hitler before the war started. If the world had treated Hitler the way we eventually treated Saddam Hussein and the way we must treat President Ahmedawackjob, then we wouldn’t have Hitler to reference to in comparison.
Trippy…
As I said Iran is playing to their audience. If that audience would like to see Amsterdam nuked and Iran has a way to nuke Amsterdam while still maintaining a plausible deniability then Amsterdam will be nuked.
