Cheney Accidentally Shoots Fellow Hunter

Posted on February 12, 2006

Update: The man he shot has suffered a minor heart attack, meanwhile the media and the left try to desperately turn this tragedy into an issue. It is sad that they have so little political power that they use tragedy and funerals as a lever and pulpit.

Update: Seems there was a 18 hour delay in reporting this, and the left and media are having a frenzy over it. Jeez! look at the clown!

Harry Whittington, 78, was “alert and doing fine” after Cheney sprayed Whittington with shotgun pellets on Saturday at the Armstrong Ranch in south Texas, said property owner Katharine Armstrong.

Armstrong said Cheney turned to shoot a bird and accidentally hit Whittington. She said Whittington was taken to Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Cheney’s spokeswoman, Lea Anne McBride, said the vice president was with Whittington, a lawyer from Austin, Texas, and his wife at the hospital on Sunday afternoon.

Update: AP

“It broke the skin,” she said. “It knocked him silly. But he was fine. He was talking. His eyes were open. It didn’t get in his eyes or anything like that.”
She said emergency personnel traveling with Cheney tended to Whittington, holding his face and cleaning up the blood.
“Fortunately, the vice president has got a lot of medical people around him and so they were right there and probably more cautious than we would have been,” she said. “The vice president has got an ambulance on call, so the ambulance came.”

I’m sure that Sarah Brady is already conference calling the Three Stooges; Kennedy, Biden and Schumer to do their best to smear the VP.

What will become of it?… A whole lot of NOTHING for the Left.

    Jack.

  2. David on February 12th, 2006 5:04 pm

    *sigh*

Just when ya thought it was safe to go back in the woods…

    :-)
Stuff like this happens. If they’d been fishing and a fellow fisherman had caught a hook from Cheney, the leftists would probably start hunting down fishermen and lynching them…

  3. Marti on February 12th, 2006 5:13 pm

Well, well, well, this does not surprise me. Cheney is dangerous in the woods too.

Sorry folks, I hate the guy and you mean to tell me there is EMS services and staff standing by in the event of a heart attack or a wayward buck shot?? We are paying for this?????

I voted for Bush-not DICK Cheney. Chedney is a CROOK…dang it. The sooner you fellow Republicans admit that, the better off, this Party will be! By the way, Libby said Cheney gave him the word to leak to the press.

I want them out of the White House and in jail!

Did you know Cheney had better things to do..than join the military??? Good Grief, I despise that Dick.

  4. David on February 12th, 2006 5:16 pm

    Oh. Drat.

My own Wonder Woman just told me I ought to have said,

“If they’d been fishing and a fellow fisherman had caught a hook from Cheney, the left would start calling Cheney a hooker…”

    *sigh* Somebody’s always got a better line… ;-)

Marti said: “Chedney is a CROOK…dang it.”

Marti, if you have any credible evidence of Cheney’s law-breaking, please report it to the proper authorities.

“By the way, Libby said Cheney gave him the word to leak to the press.”

Would you mind being more specific about what “it” is? And has “it” (whatever “it” is) been shown to be illegal? by any credible source whatsoever?

If you want to call someone a crook–anyone–then please be specific and back such comments with facts, ‘K?

    Thanks.

(An example of specifics backed with facts might be those brought forth concerning Jean Fraud sKerry’s “aid and comfort” to the enemies of the U.S. during his own unauthorized “Paris peace talks” while still an officer in the Navy.)

    David, think for a moment.

The President and Vice President; even Former Presidents, VPs and their families have a Secret Service Detail assigned to them.

So yes, Virginia. You do pay for this. As does everybody else who pays taxes.

As for the Vice President being taken out of the White House… Dream On!

    Jack.

  7. Jack Deth on February 12th, 2006 5:42 pm

    Oops, my mistake.

My comments should be directed at Marti. Not David.

I’d also like to know how Marti didn’t vote for the Vice President. Political Running Mates are usually on a Ticket, aren’t they?

    Jack.

  8. Marti on February 12th, 2006 6:03 pm

Jack..Jack..Jack…what other VP had a stand by EMS and Staff of Doctors with him on a hunting trip? I know the protocol for service to Presidents and VP, past and present, and it does not entail a waiting hospital staff out in the woods.

Ofcourse, the only way I could vote for Bush is to shoo in Cheney. I didn’t realize how bad he was until 2005. I used to defend him like you do.

    The “IT” is…

I am a republican that believes if found guilty, which I think is very promising, Scooter should serve hard time. I take great offense that Karl Rove and Cheney have been molly coddled through the whole thing and have not been indicted. Don’t tell me that their is no proof that they were involved. It is outrageous. I don’t want MY CIA AGENTS ousted by ANYONE. My love affair with Bush took a dive when he CYA for Karl Rove and Cheney.

I suppose you are going to deny this. You are not doing this country any favors by doing so. Libby is going to spill the beans one day, heh, I can’t wait. I just hope Bush was in his bubble and will avoid jail and impeachment and treason charges.

You want proof? No, I don’t have the indictments to show you but I will not retract what I believe to be true.

    SHOCK..

    Cheney accidentally shoots hunting companion
Just remember Cheney has killed fewer companions with his gun than Teddy Kennedy has with his car…

  10. Marti on February 12th, 2006 6:24 pm

Maybe Cheney shot him on purpose!
    **evil grin**

    FYI…Pre-Proof for Jack..

“Thursday’s National Journal reports that Libby will point out that the vice president and other top administration officials encouraged him to share classified information as part of a strategy to build a defense for the war.”

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/02/09/politics/main1302808.shtml

Cheney is an embarrassment to this country. He has almost destroyed the Republican party. He contradicts himself everytime he (lies) speaks, that’s what guilty liars do, they “contradict”.

Nighters Jack, thanks for the Civics lesson.

    Sincerely,

    Virginia

  11. apostle on February 12th, 2006 6:24 pm

Marti: You need proof. So does Congress. I’m a Republican that feels the party is in deep trouble too, and I’m steamed that we have total control over the government yet abortion, same sex marriages, border security, and many other issues till plague this country. But we need proof that Cheney is a crook.

The VP should be able to shoot whomever he needs to prosecute the War on Terror. Those crummy liberals will be screaming about the victims rights, but this supposed “Lawyer from Austin” was clearly an Al Qaeda terrorist if Cheney saw fit to blow his head off.

  13. Allen on February 12th, 2006 10:35 pm

With my apologies to the Vice-President, maybe he should now invite say maybe Ted Kennedy, or Hilldo/Billdo on the next hunt. How’s the Texas saying go? There’s more men needing shooting, then horses needing stealing. What a “field”-day the MSM is going to have on this one.

  14. Jason Sonenshein on February 12th, 2006 11:57 pm

I guess it would be in poor taste to make an “administration that couldn’t shoot straight” joke, so I’ll refrain from doing so.

Marti, either you are trolling, or you fit in with the hatriotic speech of the Democrats. Your screed is deplorable and if you are conservative, it is divisive.

Like all sports, hunting has it’s share of accidents, though the results can be catastrophic, people get seriously hurt pursuing all types of sports. Sonny Bono and a Kennedy were killed sking for example.

This is such a non story. Yawn.

If people would get this involved about-Drunk Drivers who kill or Pedofiles who harm or kill children or Gangs who kill and distribute drugs to our young people or Those who abuse the rights of others -IN the Name Of Free Speech or expression-This PLACE may stand a chance!!!
Leave Cheney Alone, I don’t think he needs you or me to tell him he made a mistake or prying into his personal life.REMOVE the BEAM from your own eye and you may see clearly.
