A day after Hamas swept to an upset victory in the Palestinian parliamentary elections, former US President Jimmy Carter on Thursday said that Wednesday’s voting had been orderly and fair.

“The elections were completely honest, completely fair, completely safe and without violence,” the former president said.

Carter, who led an 85-member international observer team from around the world organized by the ‘National Democratic Institute’ in partnership with ‘The Carter Center,’ urged the international community to directly or indirectly fund the new Palestinian Government even though it will be led by an internationally-declared foreign terror organization.

“The Palestinian Government is destitute, and in desperate financial straits. I hope that support for the new government will be forthcoming,” Carter said at a Jerusalem press conference.

He added that if international law barred donor countries from directly funding a Hamas-led government than the US and the EU should bypass the Palestinian Authority and provide the “much-needed” money to the Palestinians via non-governmental channels such as UN agencies.Source

Yeah Jimmy, the U.N. We’ll get right on that. I’m sure they will use it to grow peanuts. This man is off his rocker!! It will be a frozen day in hell when the U.S. gives money to a known terrorist organization. Perhaps he was talking to his French buddies? The ACLU are onboard!
Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiller has my sides splitting! Here is a little sample, but go read the whole thing.

Next to Kofi Anal, the paleosimian terrorist murderers haven’t got a better friend in the world than Dhimmi Card’uh.

And Jimmeh: Here’s hoping and praying that the next Habitat for Humanity that you pretend helping to build falls on top of you and crushes you like the wrinkled, slimy bug that you are.

“[provide the “much-needed” money to the Palestinians via non-governmental channels such as UN agencies]”

You said it, the man is off his rocker!!!

The US membership makes up 25% of the UN budget. No matter where it is “channeled” from, money would still be coming from American tax dollars.

Hamas was voted into power democraticaly, so….let them have their Hamas government and let’s make sure they keep it in Palestine!

    No money for Hamas government.

    Cancel membership to the UN.

Economic sanctions to countries that trade with Palestine.

No more visas or entry into US for immigrants from nations with questionable ties to terrorist states.

American troops on American soil guarding our borders!!!

According to the quoted section, Carter said “I hope that support for the new government will be forthcoming”… Did he come out and say that the U.S. should send $$$ or are we reading between the lines?

So if the Palestinians had put in a U.S. approved puppet, would it be ok to send support?

  3. Jay on January 26th, 2006 11:21 pm

Did you not read the entire post? No one is reading between the lines, and if we had a puppet there, a true puppet that followed America’s every wish, then this would be an entirely different conversation wouldn’t it? No, we have terrorist, Jew killing murderers in power, and Jimmah wants to fund that.

If only that rabbit had been a stronger swimmer!

  5. Media.Truth on January 27th, 2006 12:19 am

I read the entire post, did you? Or did your anger blind you… No quotes ["] around Jimmah asking for money for the newly elected government….

I thought the U.S. was all for elections? Fair elections? Isn’t that what we sent 2,000+ American Soldiers to die for in Iraq? Or is there another mission?

The people in Palestine have spoken… They chose their leader… May not be who WE want to lead them but it is not OUR choice.

That’s fair. Hamas is the legitimate governing party of Palestine. That doesn’t mean we should hand out cookies, or sit by when they carry out their stated goal of wiping Israel of the map.

No one is suggesting that Abbas should stay in power, just don’t expect white flags when they try to charge out of Gaza.

let carter go live in hamasastan himself. he did the same thing to miami. he never set foot in it yet he get castro the green light to dump his prisoners into the southern tip of the US without a concern for his fellow countrymen (including those of cuban decent who were quite angry as well and are devout republican as a result)

Screw Jimmy Carter. He is beyond help in this matter.

  9. apostle on January 27th, 2006 4:01 am

Media.Truth: Yes, America is all about free elections. But bottom line? Hamas are terrorists. We are fighting a war on terror. That is not a new mission, it is the same mission we’ve executed since 9/11. Kill terrorists and those that support them. Palestine just elected a whole government full of them.

Carter is a loon. If we hadn’t banned committing lunatics to state insane asylums, he’d be picked up by the men in white coats.

I’m not sure why we haven’t sent troops over there yet. We now have an entire people and their government that is a known and stated terrorist. We don’t have to worry about getting any “innocents” and “civilians,” they are now ALL enemies. Let the bombing begin!

You know what I think. Carter is bent on revenge against America since he screwed up the hostage crisis in Iran and he wants to make US all suffer because he was so humiliated for being such a failure of a president. Carter has serious issues and is a national security threat. Butterfly net him and take him to the nursing home for failed presidents.

Media truth..see you up there.(wish I didn’t) LOL No wonder Bill spanks you guys so bad. rofl

Carter is an unmidigated [edited], and a disgrace to the office he once held. It is because of his spinelessness that we have this serious problem in Iran. If he would have stepped up and helped the former Sha, who was our long time friend, we would not have this terrorist in power there either. As for their election and this joke of an election in Palestine, although it appears outwardly that the democratic process was in place, and ran its course, it does not mean that that process was not secretly corrupted to produce a desired result. If those of use with working brains, unlike you Media Truth, really think about it, would the truly peace loving people of Palistine really vote Hamas into power? No, only if two situations existed. 1.) The number of truly peace loving Palistinian people did not outnumber the terrorists and they still voted accordingly, or 2.) No matter their numbers, they were either coerced into voting for Hamas or prevented from voting at all. The same thing happened in Iran, we already know of very large numbers of Iranians who do not like the ruling mullahs, or the direction their country is going, yet this terrorist gets elected by a landslide. Not likely unless something is in the fix at voting time. Carter is a gullable dolt and he sits there like a total and complete Liberal, brain dead Democrat and makes assnine statements like: “The elections were completely honest, completely fair, completely safe and without violence”. That does not make them valid idiot! As is usual, Democrats take serious issues like this at face value and get duped and get us attacked, or they take non-issues and run with them and make even more of an ass of themselves. Stupidity abounds in Democrat land.

If those in islam can believe that “infidels aren’t civilians” for the purpose of war, how long can it be before “palestinians” are all considered enemy combatants?

Hamas is the legitimate government in a non entity called the Palestinian State. We do not have to like it, but, it is what it is.

Carter wants it funded. OK. I agree. They should follow the lead of the party of ole Jimmy, the Democrats. They should implement a regressive income tax with criminal penalties for non payment, a sales tax, an estate tax, and a luxury tax. Tax everything that isn’t tied down. Maybe they can even tax all of the money that Arafat stole. Taxation is the right and proper way to fund a government, don’t you agree?

Then they can ask ole Jimmy to get some of his good ole boys and girls from Habitat to come on down, sing Kumbayah, and build houses for the poor Palestinians. They could even build whole villages. He could get some of his good ole boys to help them jump start their industries and job training programs so they can be self supporting. Bomb factories, munition plants, training for homicide bombers, chemical weapons plants, and oh yes, lest we forget, a nuclear power plant.

We should help the pooooooor Palestinian state? We should never have agreed to allow it in the first place.

This is very unusual, from Aljazree polling. 60 percent say “No”. Meanwhile, the streets are on fire, set by the Fatah supporters, in outrage over the elections and the Hamas win. Me thinks it was not a fair election after all. Go figure.

Will Palestinian elections augur well for Middle East peace?

    Yes :
    40%
    No :
    60%

    Number of pollers : 15771

Heh, I hope Carter is right in the middle of this.
