Al Qaeda Tells Bush To Admit Defeat In Iraq

Posted on January 7, 2006

This is the way they think. How many times have we emphasized to the left that this is the way the terrorist think? Yet still, all we hear from the left is “pull out”, and defeatist rhetoric.

Al Qaeda’s second-in-command said President Bush had admitted defeat in Iraq by announcing plans to reduce the American troop presence in the country, saying the move would be a victory for Islam.

Ayman Zawahiri’s videotaped remarks, broadcast on al-Jazeera television Friday, came after two days of suicide bombings in Iraq killed almost 200 people, 11 of them U.S. soldiers. Al Qaeda’s affiliate in Iraq is widely believed to have been behind the deadliest of the attacks.

Bush, you must admit that you have been defeated in Iraq and that you are being defeated in Afghanistan and that you will soon be defeated in Palestine,” Zawahiri said, according to a translation of his statement by the Washington-based SITE Institute.

Zawahiri, an Egyptian who is al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden’s top lieutenant, warned Americans that “as long as you do not deal with Muslim nations with understanding and respect, you will still go from one disaster to another. And your calamity will not end, unless you leave our lands and stop stealing our resources and stop supporting the bad rulers in our countries.”

Now, if they really think that Bush would listen to this insanity, then they have another thing coming. However, isn’t it interesting that we hear the same type of rhetoric coming from the defeatocrats?

Rightwing Nuthouse compares the words of Al Qaeda’s #2 to those of Murtha.

I hope Representative Murtha found some comfort in the words contained in Doctor Zawahiri’s statement. Between he and al Qaeda (and the press), I have no doubt that somehow, someway, the traitorous wretches will be able to spin their way to making Iraq into a defeat for the United States.

Yes, if they can find a way to dismiss victory of the U.S., both the defeatocrats, and Al Qaeda will do so. For the democrats, it isn’t about victory for the U.S., it is about power, and victory for their own political agenda. A very dangerous position to take, and one that will only further alienate them from the American people.

    Michael,

You may want to go to a site called “No End But Victory”, where they have a detailed report from the Harmony project. Evidently Saddam had thousands of the Islamic Terrorists there before we arrived, training them.

At least according to the paperwork from his security services.

Do you think it’s safe to trust these former Iraqi officers? Note the Editor’s comments on the WGBH page:

[Editor's Note, November 2005: More than two years after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, there has been no verification of Khodada's account of the activities at Salman Pak. In fact, U.S. officials have now concluded that Salman Pak was most likely used to train Iraqi counter-terrorism units in anti-hijacking techniques. It should also be noted that he and other defectors interviewed for this report were brought to FRONTLINE's attention by the Iraqi National Congress (INC), a dissident organization that was working to overthrow Saddam Hussein. Since the original broadcast, Khodada has not publicly addressed questions that have been raised about his account of activities at Salman Pak.]
