6th Circuit Strikes Down ACLU’s Whine Of Sep. Of Church and State (VIDEO)

Posted on December 23, 2005

CINCINNATI, Dec. 22 /Christian Wire Service/ — In an astounding return to judicial interpretation of the actual text of the United States Constitution, a unanimous panel of the 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals Tuesday issued an historic decision declaring that “the First Amendment does not demand a wall of separation between church and state.”

In upholding a Kentucky county’s right to display the Ten Commandments, the panel called the American Civil Liberties Union’s repeated claims to the contrary “extra-constitutional” and “tiresome.”

John Flannery, a former federal prosecutor, appeared on The O’Reilly Factor this evening to defend the ACLU’s position. Flannery quotes President Jefferson in an attempt to make the point that there is a separation of church and state and it wasn’t followed in this case. Guest host John Kasich responded to that and made Flannery look like an idiot, you will just have to see.

BY THE WAY: Has anyone ever seen the segment ‘If they mated’ on Conan O’Brien? Well if Tucker Carlson and John Kerry mated they would produce this jackass.

It still baffles me how liberals of today argue this separation of church and state myth. Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, all these guys PENNED the Constitution, then advocated prayer at every meeting of Congress, proceeded to display the Ten Commandments everywhere, and totally rejected public education because of the religious freedom it would suppress. I think if they thought these things went against the Constitution that they themselves came up with, they wouldn’t have done any of these things. Oh, and don’t forget Jefferson paying lots of tax-payer money to convert the Indians to Christianity. I guess now the left will say he violated his own law.

I wholeheartedly agree with what the judge said, but I really don’t think John Kasich in any way made John Flannery look stupid. If anything, it was the other way around. Kasich presented a number of facts and figures (which may or may not be true), and Flannery just kept repeating what the judge said, refuting few, if any, of Kasich’s points.

I know there’s an intelligent response to Kasich, but Flannery didn’t give it. Please don’t misunderstand my point. I’m not in any way taking Kasich’s side, or arguing his points. I just wish Flannery had provided a better, more detailed response to Kasich.

If the Pagans had just won a similar victory in that court, which gave them the endorsement of the US government to dance naked on Christmas day in the Capital Rotunda, showing the rest of us what their religion was about, I would assure all those who worried that the Pagans would be now favored over all other religions that are practiced in this country, that it ain’t over till the fat lady sings at the Supreme court. Then I would urge all “God fearing Christians” to move to another country where all religions were allowed to safely practice, and good Christians were not forced to be exposed to Pagan rituals or be “Metered” by Scientology on government property. When the Supreme court rules, then it’s time to worry, then it is news.
