Mexico angrily vows to block proposed U.S. border wall
Posted on December 21, 2005
From an article in Mercury News:
The Mexican government, angered by a U.S. proposal to extend a wall along the border to keep out migrants, pledged Tuesday to block the plan and organize an international campaign against it.
Facing a growing tide of anti-immigrant sentiment north of the border, the Mexican government has taken out ads urging Mexican workers to denounce rights violations in the United States. It also is hiring an American public-relations firm to improve its image and counter growing U.S. concerns about immigration.
Mexican President Vicente Fox denounced the U.S. measures, passed by the House of Representatives on Friday, as “shameful” and his foreign minister, Luis Ernesto Derbez, echoed his complaints on Tuesday.
“Mexico is not going to bear, it is not going to permit, and it will not allow a stupid thing like this wall,” Derbez said.
“What has to be done is to raise a storm of criticism, as is already happening, against this,” he said, promising to turn other countries against the plan.
How are we allowing another country to take out political ads in our country? This is Mexico meddling in our internal politics! It seems Mexico will do anything to keep American dollars flowing into Mexico. This must be a violation of international law, but I bet nothing is done about it in the UN. How dare Fox say he will stop it, It is not his country or his decision! I hope this angers people in this country, as much as it does me.

How dare the USA imply that it has the right to police its borders?!?!

“Mexico will do anything to keep American dollars flowing into Mexico.”
President Bush should oblige Fox and not put a fence on the U.S. border!
1. Placing it on the Southern Mexican border and making all Mexicans honorary U.S. citizens would solve the immigration problem.
2. It would help alleviate some of the concerns, many Americans have with the CAFTA agreement.
3. We would make a huge and immediate impact on the drug traffic into this country.
4. All prisons and the UN could be relocated to the “New South”, appointing Vincente Fox as the warden.
5. In the 2 days (give or take a day) that it would take to acquire that sand trap, quality of life for Mexicans would improve 10 fold.
6. The U.S. would have one of the best Military Proving Grounds we could hope for. (place the prisons and UN, smack in the middle of it!)
7. The left would have something new to whine about for years to come. (of course, we could always build them some “condos” between the UN and prisons.)
8. Start a new cause, M.O.B.S (move our borders south)
Nice idea Lobo.
Note to Mr. Derbez and President Fox: The U.S. is a sovereign nation. You have no say in the methods we employ to prevent your citizens from breaking OUR laws. Stop being parasites and focus on improving conditions in your own damned country.
i propose we build the nations largest federal penitentiary along the border, then they’ll have to break into jail, then break out of jail to get into america.
