Show Solidarity With Brave Iraqis

Twice this year, Iraqis have shown their courage, defying the terrorists and risking their lives to exercise their right to vote.

They will vote again on December 15.

Shelby Dangerfield, a 10-year-old Montana girl, demonstrated Americans’ solidarity with freedom-loving Iraqis by inking her finger purple last January.

If Shelby Dangerfield were an adult in Iraq today, she would risk her life for the chance to vote.

Because she is a 10-year-old Billings girl, Shelby won’t be going to the polls. But she will be will be showing her support by wearing ink on her finger - just like those Iraqis who have voted.

“It will symbolize our support if we wear ink on our fingers,” Shelby said. “We’re not forcing them to vote, but they have a chance to do it and they should take that chance.”

Now that is a moving story, and I am proud of my fellow Montanan. Get involved and show your support for a burgeoning democracy, from December 12 - 15, let’s follow her example by inking our index finger purple.
