ACLU Concerned With Bleeding Heart Liberals

Welcome Michelle Malkin Readers! Please take some time to look around the site, through our archives. We are a small grassroots movement, but growing fast. Help us in our efforts for our voices to be heard all the way to the halls of D.C.
If the left ever wonder why they have been labeled loony by the right, this should help answer a few of their questions. The left seem facinated with bodily fluids.
Anti-war protesters back in court for spilling blood.
Four anti-war protesters who spilled their own blood at a military recruiting station accused the Bush administration of trying to intimidate them and others from demonstrating against the Iraq war by prosecuting them in federal court.
The four defendants _ dubbed “the St. Patrick’s Four” for their March 17, 2003 protest _ go on trial in U.S. District Court beginning Monday. The U.S. Attorney’s Office decided to prosecute the four following a mistrial in April 2004 in Tompkins County Court, where the 12-person jury ended in a deadlock after nine members voted to acquit the protesters.
Oh, we will have to just jump straight into the details of the Bushitler protesters lunacy.
Two days before the invasion of Iraq, Burns and co-defendants Peter DeMott, 58; and sisters, Teresa Grady, 39; and Clare Grady, 46; were arrested at a U.S. Army and Marine Corps recruiting station at a mall in Lansing, about 65 miles south of Syracuse. During the protest, they splattered their blood onto the windows and walls, posters, pictures and an American flag.
Most respectful, creative, and artistic expression against the oppressive Bushitler regime. Of course our facist government wishes to put an end to this bloody mess.
If convicted in federal court, each could face up to six years in prison and fines as high as $250,000 on the primary charge of conspiracy to impede an officer of the United States. They also are charged with damaging governmental property and entering a military station for unlawful purposes.
Really? You don’t say? Breaking into a military recruiting station and smearing blood on the windows and the American Flag is damaging government property? Who would have ever thunk it? Jeez, leave it to the leftards. Just a little advice to the left; if you don’t want the label of loony lefties, don’t act loony. There are more respectful ways to express your freedom of speech than smearing bodily fluids on what most Americans revere with the utmost respect, such as the flag.
Oh, and I almost forgot! The ACLU thinks this was a non-violent, peaceful protest.
The prosecution is unusual but not unprecedented, said Barrie Gewanter, head of the Central New York chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union. Gewanter said the federal government has been fairly consistent about pursuing prosecutions where the protests involved damage to government property.
While the ACLU does not support acts of civil disobedience _ even nonviolent ones _ it is concerned about how the government is handling this case, she said.
“It seems the government has decided they weren’t punished enough,” Gewanter said. “This appears to be about more than just keeping order and enforcing the law … this suggests the government is more motivated by the message than by the conduct of the defendants and is retaliating for that message and opposition to government policy.”
True lunatic leftism at its best. To see what else the radical left is up to, check out Indepundit.

This is why I get pushed further and further to the right of things.
I just thought of something: the fringe left is taking over the Democratic Party in the same way that Islamic extremists are starting to define Islam, because there aren’t enough reasonable voices being heard. Same thing happened with GreenPeace being taken over by political activists. I suppose you’re the expert on the ACLU, so I’m not sure, but I heard the ACLU wasn’t always like it is today. That on occasion, several decades ago, they would defend the civil rights of conservatives voices as well. Unions, too, at one point, weren’t the Left arm of the Democratic Party.
Jay, I got a notice in the mail the other day. I got jury duty in Oct. I only wish I could be a juror on the lunatic fringe group you mentioned’s trial.
God Bless America, God Save The Republic.
They’ve done god before, still do occassionally. But they’ve been crooked from their communist founding.
Your *ever-so-slight* inclination toward generalization rather too apparent here…
1. Prior conviction for trespassing at the same recruiting station resulting in a week in jail.
2. They are representing themselves (four fools for attorneys).
3. Thinking they could violate American law to uphold International law.
4. If convicted, they will claim unlawful combatant status and demand Geneva Convention protection because they really are THAT stupid!
The left is making our job way too easy.
Does nobody around here know the meaning of “abusive generalization”?
Does nobody around here know the meaning of “abusive generalization” ?
I write you good people from Eastern Oregon. I am burying a 600 gallon drum of diesel-2 fuel, five cases of ammo, 6,000 gallons of water, and some soda crackers for the day that the civil war with the ACLU comes!!
Praise Jezus.
Ruby Ridge…
Don’t forget some reading material.
Congrats!
Michelle Malking linked to you!
You deserve every bit of recognition you get!
Great job!
I wonder it these protesters would be so understanding if someone were to stage a similarly “nonviolent” protest at their homes - splattering blood on their carpet, walls, furniture, etc.?
Very good point. It’s absolutely sickening. Blood of all things could spread all kinds of diseases and stuff. I hope it was cleaned up well. Bleach, plastic gloves, etc.
Like the founders of this invaluable site, I am not conveinced that the Communist origins of the ACLU do not continue to affect its outlook today. Just consider which of those liberties most Americans hold dear that the ACLU never, never, fights for: property rights (did they side with the public against the governmnent in the infamous Kelo case? No!) and, of course, Second Amendment rights. Why is that? They are worried about the consequences of supporting those rights? The consequences of releasing convicted killers never seems to bother them.
Congrats on the link Jay…And the piece rocks too!
Just to let you folks know, these protestors are Catholic Workers, a group founded in the traditions of the distributionists like G.K. Chesterton and Leo Tolstoy, traditionalist right-wing anarchists who hold the individual right to property ownership as second to God himself. Next time you want to completely generalize an entire branch of politics, try to make sure you know what you’re talking about.
