The Gittins Good

Posted on August 16, 2005

A few quick notes of good news. First off as I just recieved my advance copy of ACLU Vs. America by Alan Sears from the Alliance Defense Fund.

I also recieved this email from Nedd at stoptheaclu.org.

FYI, everyone, I received an e-mail from a Washington Times reporter for them to call me. It appears they want to do a story on the Stop the ACLU web site since World Net Daily reported it. Stay tuned for further details. This could be the one that opens the floodgates to get national attention on what we’re doing and in the hopes of eradicating the ACLU’s agenda.

As they say, “the gittin’s good”. Spread the word.

Regards,

Nedd

That is good news Nedd, and if you fail to mention your blog in this interview there will be a heavy price to pay. ;) A big congrats to Nedd for all the national attention he is finally, and deservingly recieving!

Congratulations! That’s a great paper and it will definitely bring attention to your site. Everyone in the beltway reads the Washington Times, even the libs/ACLU-types whether they will admit it are not.

I received the following from Nedd:

Much appreciated, Gribbit, and thank you for all you are doing.

I was contacted by the Washington Times today. I thought it may have been an interview with them. It wasn’t, regretfully, but it was an invitation to take an ad out with them. We’re certainly going to consider it. More to follow in the next newsletter.

    Thanks again.

    Nedd

So the hope for an interview turned out to only be a solicitation for advertising. But even that would increase interest in the movement.

So if you have the means, please consider sending Nedd a little something something to help pay for it.

    Thanks

My limited experience with newspapers was that if you want to be written about, you have to buy an ad. I owned a nightclub, but it’s probably the same for an activist organization.
Let me tell a quick story about Newsday, our local LI paper. We couldn’t to afford ads with them, but they still wrote an article when we had Billy Preston play. It was on page 92, and focused on his then-upcoming trial on child-sex charges. It was titled “Billy Preston’s back-Let him be,” and the final sentence said “He’s playing at the Main St. Cafe this weekend.” That was our only mention.

I wouldn’t say the Wa. Times would badmouth you, but I’d advise to buy the ad. It will probably pay off with good news stories.

Good luck, and I’ll keep reading!
