New Arizona Law Forces Hard Choices For Illegal Aliens. Bummer

Yeah, I know, I haven’t done much on globull warming as of late, but, hey, illegal immigration is one of my core political sub-issues below Conservatism. And I do love fixing headlines, especially ones that yammer on about “migrants,” then write this

With Arizona’s crackdown on illegal immigrants looming, Guatemalan Samuel Roldan is swapping the family’s battered Chevy Suburban, which he feels marks them out as low-income migrants, for a smarter, more corporate-looking Nissan.

“When you have an old car (covered) with stickers for a Spanish-language radio station … it’s only logical that they will think you are Hispanic and you don’t have papers,” Roldan said.

Roldan is among an estimated 460,000 illegal immigrants in the Mexico border state carefully weighing their options on Monday, three days after Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed the United States’ toughest immigration measure into law.

Wait, what? The reporter from Reuters went out and found an illegal to interview and tell us about how tough it was being here illegally? I’m all for freedom of the press, but, aren’t their other notions called “accessory to a crime” and “failure to report a crime,” things that are, you know, criminal offenses? Arizona should subpoena the writer(s) and force them to release the location of Roldan. Or, they could track his vehicle purchase, find him, arrest him, and send him back to Guatemala, selling the vehicle for plane fair and some reimbursement to the state.

“What is a father to do if, in 90 days, they can be stopped by any police officer and questioned … when their family is at home and their kids in school?” said Elias Bermudez, the founder of Phoenix nonprofit Immigrants Without Borders.

“That’s going to create havoc, so a lot of them are saying, ‘Look, before they pick me up, I’d rather leave the state of Arizona either to another state or back home,’” he added.

Good, go. If you want to be in America, do it the right way.

For Mexican day laborer Rodolfo Espinoza, meanwhile, it was simply time to go back home to work as a fisherman on the Pacific coast of northwest Mexico, where he has a wife and four children.

“This new law gives us no other option than to leave … I’m going back to Mexico, where I feel more comfortable,” he added.

More comfortable? Cry me a river. You are a law breaker, Rodolfo, you damned well should feel uncomfortable. And don’t let the door hit you in the posterior on the way out.

Elsewhere, you know how the lefty media were so concerned about a few Nazi symbols at TEA Party rallies, but, not at the Bush Is Evil rallies from 2001-2008? Yup, they are back to being unconcerned. Try and find this story about Nazi symbols smeared in beans at the Arizona capital in the national media.

Over at my site I’ve been discussing the Arizona law in detail from a position of actually trying to apply it on the street. It took several posts, this one offers an explanation and real solutions.

What is the real problem here? It is not illegals, they’ve been around for a long time. It is about the money, the greed that illegals encourage by being here. From another post in which I compare illegal immigration to a symptom, a boil, that is caused by the real disease- love for money.

“So, what is the disease that keeps the boils popping up? Remember the rule- “Chase the offender not the offense.” What is the offender here? Simple- money. The illegals come here to make money taking jobs we won’t take for the wages offered. It is a boon to them and a relief to us. The politicians see illegals as a way to insure their return to power in D.C. which of course makes them rich. Businesses want illegals to work for them because they cost less to employ. The government, especially the Social Security department, likes the idea of having seven and a half percent sent into their coffers under a fake social security number. If they didn’t, would they not immediately notify the employer?

It is and always has been about the money.”

The problem is that Arizona is frustrated and because of that they created a bad law. ACLU and others will jump all over the stop/detention issues this law creates.

Now going after the businesses is smart and will dry up the money. I have nine suggestions in the one post that would stop illegal immigration tomorrow.

The law is already successful in that it is causing illegal aliens to profile themselves and declare it “logical.”

I haven’t read the new Arizona law but I’ve been reading volumes about it. What I’ve gleaned from it all is… Arizona is requiring the enforcement of federal immigration law.

We have a Constitution, and a great one it is. We have laws, lots of laws. Our country has always expressed a belief in the rule of law. Now they are merely useless pieces of paper against a tide of crazy propaganda. The government media, the Dems in Congress, even, it seems, every knee-jerking “moderate” in the Repub ranks, I mean you Jeb Bush, is falling for the librul spin on the Arizona. What a circus of clowns!
