Christmas Banned at White House…before it wasn’t
by Maggie at Maggie’s Notebook
White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers told a group of her predecessors that the White House “did not intend to put the manger scene on display. This happened earlier in the year, but is just now breaking news. Rogers’ comments indicating that the White House Christmas was banned…was before the White House reversed their decision and Christmas wasn’t banned after all. See a video below.
Ms. Rogers, this participant said, replied that the Obamas did not intend to put the manger scene on display — a remark that drew an audible gasp from the tight-knit social secretary sisterhood. (A White House official confirmed that there had been internal discussions about making Christmas more inclusive and whether to display the crèche.)
I would like to know how the former social secretaries kept this secret.
The report says “in the end, tradition won out…and the creche is in its usual East Room spot. What a sad, sad commentary for our country. Would you ever have believed that such a discussion would be possible in the house where the President of the United States lives?

I’m surprised they discussed it and left it up. I was sure they’d deliberately eliminate Christmas from the White House this year. After all, he is a muslim, you know. They eliminated the national day of prayer and most other religious activities at the White House so far.
A P.S. from my earlier note: I think Obama’s search for just the right church in D.C. to attend on Sundays is still ongoing, right?? What a pathological liar.
Give them a break! Not everyone in the country is a Christian, and even though they should be able to have their (Christian) displays up in the White House without feeling uncomfortable about it, I respect that they are celebrating the season rather than alienating so many non-Christians in the country. Bravo!
It doesn’t surprise me. Remember, People magazine reported that the Obama’s do not give Christmas presents to their daughters… “to teach some limits.”
…Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) tells People magazine in the issue out Friday that he and his wife, Michelle, do not give Christmas or birthday presents to their two young daughters.
Obama tells the magazine’s Sandra Sobieraj Westfall in a seven-page cover story that he and his wife follow the unusual practice because they “want to teach some limits.”… politico
Given the media’s constant covering up for and excusing the guy, this was about as dressed up as they could make it.
Doesn’t give birthday presents either – because they spend hundreds of dollars on the party… seems everything is spartan except when it comes to the parents. link People
And like Rod, I am also wondering about Obama’s search for a church. Seems he only attended Wright’s church because it would get him ahead politically. Now that he has the highest office in the world, well, he just doesn’t need to play that game any more.
Give me a break!
I celebrate Christmas and Hannukah.
What this president does behind the rooms of their bedroom – closed doors is his business but this is OUR HOUSE- The American People!
The House our Forefathers have fought for – FREEDOM as a Judeo Christian Nation.
He is an opportunist and out for the one world order.
Polls fall….he ‘lies more to make himself’ appear good!
The American People are wise to this administration and they are being watched closely and WE THE PEOPLE will stand up to him! (them)
America is a Judeo – Christian nation and he and his friends can go abroad and stay there
Where they agree with all the Nationalized – Elite life they choose.
But NOT in the United States of America!
IN GOD we Trust – the God of Abraham and Issac and not Allah!
Merry Christmas Everyone! and yes I will also light my mennorah candles beginning this week end! Jesus was a Jew too!
