the question I have is that we have seen Obama meet a King, a Queen and an Emperor. He bowed to the king and the emperor. He did not to the Queen. Was this because the Queen was white or a woman? Is Obama a sexist or racist?

I believe two things might be occurring here with the Japan bow.

1. Obama is deliberately repeating his Saudi bow to thumb his nose at the Americans who objected to it.

2. He is acting on impulse in these situations and there is no way to know if he’s been advised against bowing by his staff.

I tend to feel that it’s #1. What Obama either doesn’t know, or doesn’t care about, is that he is dishonoring American heritage and the sacrifices of the first generation of Americans who fought a revolution to ensure that ordinary people do not have to bow to inherited aristocracy. Obama is saying that their sacrifices mean nothing — or are out of date and should be ignored.

This is what especially burns me — he dishonors American heritage by performing the demeaning customs of other countries.

This is getting ridiculous! It’s like the kid who got to be “Mayor for the Day”, walking around all proud and puffed up and pretending that you know what to do. We send THIS out into the world to represent us and keep us solvent and safe??

As I wrote yesterday, I lived in Japan for many years, speak the language, married a Japanese and have a half Japanese child. Seeing the President not only bow incorrectly but bow deeply enough to be the inferior in the relationship really upset me. Believe me, the man is inferior, this country is suffering for it but he doesn’t need to advertise,especially on the international stage.

This guy, especially when approaching a lectern walks like a kid of about 12 walking up to some adults.
